This product is exactly what I've been looking for with my portable cold plunge! The one I have is an inflatable model that was only $120 and has worked great but I've been looking for ways to maintain the water to retain it longer. Thank you so much for these detailed videos! No idea how I found you but I did. One question, do I need to order both the pump AND the filter? Seems the pump only has the default aquarium stuff with it.

I'm about to purchase this product, but I want to ensure its able to work outdoors in my patio for my cold plunge. It appears to only have a 6 ft power cord that may not be ready for outdoors. So I would additionally need an outdoor extension cord to reach my outlet plus probably a Extension Cord Cover to make sure its fine. Can you recommend a setup for this? I need about 40 ft to get to my outlet.
@JohnRichterAustin
@JohnRichterAustin 5 месяцев назад
Most manufacturers recommend that chest freezers not be plugged into an extension cord. While some people do use shorter extension cords, 40' is aignificant. I suggest consulting with an electrician about your power requirements. Having a close dedicated professionally installed outlet is the best way to keep you safe.
@jwadleigh1
@jwadleigh1 5 месяцев назад
@@JohnRichterAustin it’s not a chest freezer, just an inflatable cold plunge tub. No power supply. Only the pump would be connected via extension cord.

@JohnRichterAustin

Plenty of people run it at near freezing. Make sure the impeller and filter are clean and that the filter is seated correctly in the housing. Sometimes they just die. If it is less than a year old, you can get it replaced under warranty.

Hi, I bought the pump off Amazon, but the power supply is 120V 60 Hz and 0.38 amp. The power supply in UAE is 220V 50 Hz. I bought a voltage converter (200 Watt) so I can step down the voltage to 110/120. However, the frequency is now 50 Hz instead of 60 Hz so I presume the pump will operate 20% lower. Will this work OK or will the pump get damaged?

Pumps should run 24/7. If it is turning off and on and the power outlet is stable, there is likely a problem with the unit. Return it and get another one. Or read this article and possibly decide to do a DIY pump and filter: ChestFreezerColdPlunge.com/MarineLand

How many times are you able to clean the filter before it would need to be changed?
@JohnRichterAustin
@JohnRichterAustin 10 месяцев назад
It depends on how much and what kind of sediment it is filtering. With multiple people plunging daily, you might get a few days out of a filter. One person plunging a few times a week might be able to rotate several filters, changing once a month, and get them to last several months. Keep an eye on it!

John…is there a downside to using the blue polishing sleeves and/or the charcoal ? Seems like they’d prolong the life of the almost extinct filter…
@JohnRichterAustin
@JohnRichterAustin Год назад
The blue sleeves are not polishing filters. Along with the charcoal, they are made for aquariums with living animals. When the correct sanitation method is used (see my other videos on this channel), a polishing filter is needed. And that is the white pleated filter. However, they are becoming harder to find and going out of stock frequently. See this article for more info: ChestFreezerColdPlunge.com/MarineLand
