@@garrettmerrill9013 cardio,cardio, cardio....the single biggest physical factor in recruit training. Second, every stupid little thing that the DIs tell you to do pays off down the line. From how you sit to how you carry a cup at chow. My last piece of advice is open your mind and let them fill it. Do not resist for fear of losing yourself. Nothing beats the day then when your senior drill instructor hands you that ega at the top of the reaper. It’s such a defining moment. More then graduation.

The Corp is in good hands with these young men and women. ..they are what sustains the Marine Corp and has since 1775.....they are the same since the beginning of the Revolution ....they earned the the right to be Marines and the only thing they were given was the spirit and motivation to join a brotherhood that fighting men around the world fear and respect. ...so when they sing the Hymn the comes to close with and destroy our country's enemies they will advance together because of the love and respect we give each other. ...we wouldn't want to let down our brothers...the Hymn is music to our ears no matter how out of tune its sung....Semper Fidelis Marines

As a DACA boy Im both despaired and exited. I want to join yet I can't. Two of my uncles earned their citizenship in the Marines and now my twin and I want to join the forces. It's a shame, we both love this country and have been wanting to join since high school but we were denied our right to join the Military. Fuck DACA and that bull shit let me join and fulfill my calling . This is our call and we feel it to our core, I don't care about race, creed or standing, I need this oath.
I’m sad I never got to experience an EGA ceremony. They just gave them to us without much fanfare. I guess earning the title and the right to call ourselves Marines was more than enough.
