In this episode we take a look at some facts, secrets, and history of Super Mario Galaxy. Both Super Mario Galaxy games were developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii. Released worldwide in November 2007 and May 2010 respectively, the series has seen overwhelming critical and commercial success. Mr. Pokirby well it could also be proven false by a myriad of other means. Like his use of relativity, of which would only occur the way he envisions it if it were to have happened in our universe, and not the mario universe where the black holes big enough to destroy our solar system merely keep planets in place. the wonky gravity shifting that makes no sense in many regards, etc. The fact that we don't KNOW if the genetics of the humans in the mushroom kingdom are the same as our own, and him using earlobes as an indicator despite the fact he has a sample size of 2. Also ignoring the canonical (or at least semi-canonical) countries, regions and kingdoms other than the mushroom kingdom itself, with their own reigning species, mixed with the events of the Yoshi's Island games (where the F did Mario and Luigi and Peach come from?), and a bunch of other biased uses of real world science to justify innacurately represented science in-game pretty much gave me instant dismissal of the claim to begin with =P.

They probably did that because 1. Game Grumps is more centered around video games than his animation channel, 2. They actually did a pretty thorough play through of this game on that channel (which is probably why Arin was considered for this), and 3. If you look up Egoraptor you're already taken to his animation channel, so why not kill two birds with one stone by mentioning the Game Grumps as well?

Gmaniac01 Xenosaga is a PS2 game and Xenogears is a PS1 game. Aside Japan, hey're exclusive to the United States so if you live outside there, they're pretty much unobtainable. Both games have a lot of thematic elements that make their way to Xenoblade Chronicles.

+PhrozenFox I stopped watching cuz Arin's incompetence at games is frustrating. It's incredibly obvious that he tries to extend each episode to 10 minutes by acting like a total amateur. Sometimes I'll look at a video deep in a series (like part 40 of Bloodborne or something like that) just to see how far they are, and of course, they're not that far at all considering how far they are into the Let's Play. Danny and the stories he tells are the only saving grace for me.

Dan and Ross (and sometimes Barry) are funny to me. Dan actually tries to improve on his improv and make the videos more funny but it's hard as hell when you have a dumbass like Arin who just wants to make videos to make money and act like it's a chore. Most of the conversations are boring they all talk about usually sex and 80s music and nostalgia and they do this 8/10 times on almost every video.

Getting lost in Mario games? See, this is actually why I get nothing out of Mario Galaxy. The levels more often than not are incredibly linear. It provides such a shallow experience for me, by comparison. It also has the effect of making levels forgettable. After collecting all 120 stars, I have Mario 64's levels practically memorized. They feel like real places. Mario Galaxy levels are pretty much interchangeable.

Genericdude Absolutely. Well I guess I understand the innovation regarding Paper Mario via Super Paper Mario, as the story and presentation was still that style many gamers had loved from the previous 2 entries. But Sticker Star was an abomination and the fact we have a console version of that oncoming is just disgusting to me. Hopefully that game will be left behind on Wii U and the next console (NX) might receive better. And the idea of saying that about a Paper Mario game really hurts me.

Two important things not mentioned: 1) during early development, the developers used Le petit prince as an inspiration for tiny planetoids and traveling the galaxy. This is most evident, however, in the picture book that Rosalina reads in the library that draws several parallels to the story itself. 2) the developers also used Sailor Moon Sailor Stars manga version to inspire Rosalina, and the entire ending is an homage to the ending of Sailor Moon Sailor Stars. In short, both versions have a implosion that appears to destroy the galaxy due to actions form the main characters, but a luminescent figure comes to explain that there is no need to worry because this is the cycle of the stars and that for eternity, the cosmos will always produce new stars and recycle old stars. Then, the galaxy is reborn due to the power of the stars (or sailor crystals and the lambda power), and the galaxy resets itself. I think the soundtrack also takes cues from the anime adaptation of Sailor Moon, in particular the final season, Stars.

@@moises.305 Maybe in some region, yes. But in China and some other Asian countries, the popular belief is that game should be free. Mobile phone games, console games, PC games etc should all be Entirely FREE, coz no one's gonna buy it. Piracy therefore is super common, and I honestly think this hurts the sales - though the belief of games shouldn't be paid for is the true cause that really hurt game sales and game companies, and the whole game industry.

It may not have hurt sales, but you gotta think about it, people spend their time making video games and expecting to get paid for it. If the game doesn't sell well, then they won't get paid. In fact, if a game doesn't sell well, then it most likely won't get a sequel, or in some cases, the company who made the game will go out business.
