I love this game so much. It's not as "wacky" as some of the later ones, but it's a really good golf sim, and it has some nice, relaxing tunes to go with it. Fun facts/stray observations about this game! This is one of the only Mario sports/competitive game I know where Mario himself is NOT the "all-around" type, but instead has some of the highest overall power (if I remember right, outclassed only by DK, Bowser, and his Metal self, and far out-driving the likes of Wario). I think this is the first time Wario ever utters the phrase "Hurry up!" which eventually became a kinda-sorta catchphrase for him. The rare post-Yoshi's Story game with a pre-Yoshi's Story voice!

This game's sequel on the Gamecube, Toadstool Tour, also gave Mario very high power and low control. In addition, it's not just Hurry Up: a lot of Wario voice lines I thought originated from Wario Land 4 and Wario World first appeared in this game, which was a big surprise when I played it. Another strange quirk of this game is that Mario cannot be unlocked in single player until close to the end of the game, whereas you can usually play him immediately in most games.

This brings back so many memories. There should be a special version of these games where for the first time you can play as the GBC Characters, or even better allow connectivity between the 3DS and Switch where you can share data of your character between versions.

Happy that we can experience classic Nintendo 64 games on the Switch! Hopefully other games like: Mario Party, Goldeneye 007, Donkey Kong 64, Banjo Tooie, Super Smash Bros, or maybe Diddy Kong Racing being added to the Nintendo Switch Online library in the future.

Did you possibly mean to say "I like how much nostalgia this game has started."? I've repeated it so many times in my head and "I like how much nostalgic this game series has started" doesn't mean anything at all. Even saying "how much nostalgic" is wrong most of the time. @Justin The games run great, I’ve spent many many hours playing through most of them. I’ve beaten OoT, Paper Mario, Yoshi Story, F-Zero X, Star Fox multiple run throughs, and have played a lot of Tennis, Kart, and Dr. Mario with friends locally. Even if they don’t run as good as the original versions, the average player won’t notice. When you add the DLC content included, it’s definitely worth it. For the extra $30 bucks, I’ve already gotten much more value then the price warrants. For all the complaints this gets, I’ve gotten countless hours of enjoyment out of it and will only get more as content gets added. Absolutely love it

Is basically around $6 a month if you calculate it. For a whole year to able to play over a hundred games in the NES, SNES ,N64 and Sega Genesis games. So you complain too much. Nobody is saying you should renew it every year, but most would probably at least try it for a year to enjoy all the games. Gaming is a luxury anyway.

GBC characters were Custom ones you trained yourself. With the Transfer pak You bring them into this game, improved their stats and bring them back into the GBC game. Don’t think it’s possible unless GBC games start being added. Would be cool though.

When I was a kid and tried actual golfing because of this game, I sometimes tried to imitate Wario's little windup movement at 0:24 whenever I was about to swing.

Its not quite the full experience without the Gameboy connectivity. (Same with Mario Tennis) But still pretty nice.

Mario Golf games should always include a Mini-Golf mode. I never actually knew the N64 one had Mini-Golf!

They screwed up. The N64 box and cartridge has E 0:40 without even an image search. No idea why they put a T in a non-violent sports game where they hardly say anything let alone profanity.

@@chibi2239 paying for something I can get for free and not being able to keep the games. No, you don’t get a bunch of n64 games, you get an online emulator that will disappear and eventually not be supported. Why do people support and defend this scam money grubbing service that is worthless.
