In the game's files, there are unused mugshots of a Koopa Paratroopa, a Hammer Bro. and Petey Piranha, as well as a Mii outfit C, meaning they were going to appear as playable characters in Mario Kart Wii, but the idea was canceled for unknown reasons. That's disappointing, especially for Petey, but despite that, Mario Kart Wii is a good game. My favorite driver is Funky Kong.

Mission Mode should've been a thing in the first place. Nintendo should've finished the mode.

That's really cool that there going to be a Mission Mode similar to the one in Mario Kart DS! I really wish Nintendo did make one for real as I liked the idea, it sorta made it feel like an adventure mode that I've been wanting to happen in the MK series for years, and years now. Maybe it'll finally happen in the next game (no, kinda doubt it)! Also, nice little callback to Mach Rider (you know, the Famicom game that Nintendo has ignored its existence since 1985? Yeah, that one) too!

There’s actually one that you didn’t get. The sides of the trucks on moonview highway have references to other tracks. One says “coconut fruit”, one says “moo moo dairy”, and the other literally just says the word factory with toad’s picture above it

I feel like you use the term cheat codes outside of its intended purpose here. Saying cheat codes makes it sound like it is possible to input them somewhere in the game without any external software. I also wouldn’t really call some of these secrets, and definitely not Easter Eggs. They are more like, interesting tidbits of information certain stages. The video is very interesting but I think that the title doesn’t really convey that.

If they did add mission mode, completing missions could reward some cool unlockables like new vehicles. Also, the music in that spinny top boss battle reminds me of KK D&B

@ Nintendo Unity: The mission mode in Mario kart wii was never unused, at the time Nintendo still supported online multiplayer with Mario kart wii, they had something call a tournament just for fun and for ranking, and it was one of does mission mode pick by Nintendo.

Missions were a thing in Mario Wii, they stopped being a thing because online multi-player was discontinued. I remember Chain Chomps in Rainbow mode was one.

I don't think desert levels you pointed out are necessarily references, I think Nintendo just wanted to make fun desert levels, kind of like how some of the Mario Kart 8 courses aren't exactly based off anything, Also I think comparing Twilight Town and that one battle stage is a bit of a stretch.

If I remember you can also see a bit the DK Summit hidden item boxes by doing the oob glitch after the cannon

Just a little fact: Underneath the rings of Saturn in Rainbow Road in MK7 there is a set of item boxes

Some of these I knew and some of these I didn't know about

I think the Mission Mode are the Tournaments that was in the online game so the developers could test them before put them online
