I was about 7 or so when I got a record player, and my parents gave me records of Mario Lanza. I instantly fell in love with him. I’m 73 and still love him. Was nice finding this today. ♥️♥️🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
Foi o cantor da minha adolescência. Quando ele morreu, com 38 anos eu chorei. Eu disse q teria morrido no lugar dele... Me sinto privilegiada, aos quase 77 anos. Sou de Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brasil.
@@informoppl It is the enemy on sin, man's cancerous nature, at least. I'm thankful God gave us a reflection of his power of creation, so we too could make beautiful things.
An astounding vocal gift bestowed upon a kindly unassuming Italian America from Philadelphia. As far as I'm concerned, the greatest Tenor ever to render a song. ANY SONG!! Lanzas voice was a combination of power and tranquility like no other. Had he lived longer, his legend would have surpassed mythic proportions. No one was greater than Mario Lanza.
When Mario Lanza sings a song he tells a story vocally, visually, facially with such power and emotion the greatest tenor I have ever heard. R.I.P. Maestro ❤️❤️❤️
I love your Mario Lanza channel…..I was raised on his recordings in Ireland, in the 50s and 60s. We pretty much went into mourning when he died. My opera loving uncle, who introduced me to Lanza, always maintained that the Three Tenors had nothing on him, and I agree. Thank you for allowing me to relive some of those magical experiences. His incredible voice was like no other, and has not been duplicated. There was and will ever be, only one Mario Lanza.
You are right--he has never been replaced. I was about 6 years old when I first heard him--60 years ago. Have you heard the song BE MY LOVE that he sings with Kathryn Grayson? -- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ieTpurj3tCU.html

My father loved Mario Lanza. I remember as a kid during the 70s on summer nights in the Bronx he would sit on the porch playing Marios records and enjoying a bottle of Rhinegold Beer after work. I thought he was a square but now I miss those days but I'm so glad I grew up listening to that music. Love You Dad
My mum and dad’s favourite singer we had this at dads funeral and I walk with god at mums We’ were brought up with him singing in our house a great voice
What a voice...I love 💘 every song he ever movie that he performed in...that's a voice from heaven...and when he sings Ava Maria...the angels take a seat and sit and listen...he just left us to soon.
This is the best version I have ever heard. Clear, magnificent voice. Makes my heart soar when I listen. I play it every night for my client who has dementia. A blessing for me to be able to give her some joy
You probably dont give a damn but does any of you know a way to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost the account password. I love any help you can offer me.
Same here! I am in the seventies and I was a little kid when my father would seat in his chair to listen Enrique Caruso and Mario Lanza, and those songs stayed engraved in my neurons. Yesterday listening to Pavarotti singing "Ave Maria", Mario Lanza came to mind, and here I am.
Dear Mr. Di Placido, I just have to let you know ... I've been watching this clip, on and off, for years. It moves me in such a special way. When the world gets too cold and the politics get too hard and the ol' body aches from age - this clip raises me up on eagles' wings. It brings joy and contentment and renewed love for our Lord. Thank, dear friend, thank you for this priceless gift.
I just keep coming back to this channel to see the same videos over and over. Mario Lanza died before I was born but his singing reached me across the time in my heart. And I guess way after I die, his singing will be around to reach more hearts. Ciao, Mario!
November 2023 and a huge need to let go the mounds of emotion building because of current news. I remembered Mario Lanza had sung this Prayer and modern technology brought him back. Truly the most complete voice and the feeling he gave to his music leaves one in tears, as an 81 year old I feel blessed to be able to enjoy his rendition again.
A Prayer we should say every day.The Lords Prayer.Sung so Beautiful and with such Love AndCompassion. He was Gifted with such an amazing voice and will always be Remembered.Brilliant.
What a voice Mario had, a very beautiful voice! And the Lord’s Prayer sung by him, is just awesome. Not only is a great prayer but listening to Mario Lanza singing it sounds even more amazing and wonderful . God bless Mari Lanza’s soul always, he was a very gifted singer and tenor and a superb actor as well. I get goose bumps just listening …….love you Dear God and Your precious Son my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ 🙌🙌👌👌👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️♥️
My late mother who was also a singer loved to see his movies and hear him sing. He sung Nessun Dorma with perfect pitch and such emotion and passion. Loved to hear him.
Lanza seems more appreciated and recognized now than when he was living by many. His talent may have been raw and not trained as many in the Opera community felt at the time. But when many great Tenors of the last 50 years say he was a great influence for them. Its time to tell the snobs to sit down and shut up,... because he exposed more people to Opera than anyone realized.
Our minister would sing this at certain times and i can only say it was the example he drew from. He is now in heaven so listening to Mario sing it is amazing and inspiring!
@@dawnjohnson3263 You're very welcome. I was a music major but never got farther than being in the Opera Chorus and a few minor parts but did get to hear some truly great tenors. Pavarotti, Domingo, Tucker , Gedda. I'd say Gedda was the closest to sounding like Mario only he had half the voice Mario had.
Thank you for posting Mario Lanza whose voice shall live on in his movies and recordings. A Phila boy whose voice has touched millions then as now. Wish TCM would make his movies available for sale... Can you imagine what HE asked Mario to sing when he came up to Paradise? Was it Our Father or perhaps Ave Maria? Thank you for sharing your talent with us PAX+
My family and I were brought up listening to opera music, but mostly records of Mario Lanza My father had every record he made and my sisters and I saw every movie he was in. I was 5 when I first listened to his music I am in my 70’s now and still listen to his songs.
Io ho 80 anni e dal 1950 dopo aver visto il Grande Caruso la mia mamma mi svegliava con un disco di Mario per prepararmi per la scuola ancora oggi è la sua voce che mi da il buongiorno
I remember learning to sing, 'The Lord's Prayer' when I listened to Mario Lanza sining it. I was only 3 years old and sat at my Daddy's feet on our living room rug. Daddy loved listening to Mario Lanza every night, so did I. REST IN ETERNAL PEACE MARIO LANZA. You are sadly missed, loved and remembered. ❤️
A song for all times sung by one of the Greatest Singers that ever lived. And in the world of chaos that we are going through today, it is a song we should all start remembering it.
My father absolutely loved this man and Al JOHNSON ,MY BROTHER AND I WERE RAISED IN A HOUSE WITH THE RECORD PLAYER GOING TO THE SOUNDS OF ALL THE GREAT SINGERS,
Mario Lanza was my grandfather's favorite. He even named one of my uncles after him. My grandfather also was a singer. For my aunt's wedding he sang this song. I miss him so much. I think of him every time I hear this. I know they're in heaven singing together now. Rest in Peace. Until we meet again....
