Jamal Davis seeing as he's a big fan of the M and L series I'd like to see fawful's opinion on the new superstar saga remake I'm sure he'd welcome the return of fawful in the series since it's his favorite M and L character/villain
@@lapinangelique_ because before this, Logan only talked about it as a guest on other channels. Sorry for the 2 year late reply, I just didn't wanna leave your question hanging...
I'd have loved to see more of Paper Luigi in the game other than on the soundtrack screen. I personally was hoping for a Paper Mr. L and Papercraft Brobot throwback too. Everyone had their hopes for this game, and although it was a fun adventure, the turnout is vastly underwhelming compared to the potential.
My recomendation? Super Smash Bros. Brawl. If Paper Jam is overshadowed by its fellow games, than Brawl is fucking eclipsed by its party game fighters. So in the spirit of "judging things as they are", Why not take a look at a game made with passion, overshadowed by a dominating competive scene. It deserves a fair trial I'd say....... Oh yeah, and this video was awesome, keep up the good work.
I call Melee a glitchy mess, personally, but that doesn't affect my personal opinion of it. I think Brawl would've been a lot more enjoyable if there was a predictable reason for tripping!
I mean the plot does make it out to be another Bowser kidnaps peach but thats only for like half the story wheres peach in the other half? nowhere except in her castle Bowser is now on a rampage destroying the mushroom kingdom and flattening it threatening both Mario's world and Paper Mario's
Everyone knew this was coming. This was a great game (but this game is absolutely fuckin broken glitch-wise). It could have been better, but for what we got, it was pretty satisfactory. It sadly is only my least favorite of all of them, but to be honest, that’s a fucking high bar. There will always be a worse game out of a series, but that doesn’t mean it can’t have a special place in my heart
My problem with this game is that it undos everything we know about the M&L universe and treat it as an RPG version of the main series' universe and pretend the PM universe is the same thing, but made out of paper. What I'm trying to say is that this game had A LOT of potential with all the fun characters and places both series have to offer. But instead we get the plot and the main villains of a modern 2D Mario game in a RPG, but with paper clones of every character (except Luigi for some reason), a little bit of Starlow and A ****TON OF ******* TOADS (never mind all the different NPCs we used to have, let's get this one sprite, paint it with 4 other colors and populate all the towns in the game with it, and maybe a Yoshi too)!!
I'd just like to casually point out that most of the characters that PM and M&L fans want as a crossover are either dead or have no chance of ever coming back without some Diablos Ex Machina bullshit. So....yeah.
I would have loved if half this game took place inside the Paper Mario storybook, but still this is surprisingly my second favorite Mario and Luigi game
They should have had every M&L boss have a PM boss partner. Think about it! King Bob-omb and Crystal King, King Boo and Doopliss, the Koopalings and the Shadow sirens, and possibly more.
I also REALLY want to hear his thoughts on this game. I want to know if I like it only because of nostalgia, or if maybe it really is as good as I think it is.
For another episode, my vote goes to Pikmin 3. It was a solid game, and retained a lot of the staple gameplay and puzzle solving, but the introduction of characters who talked outside of the logs, the final area, and the odd progression system (almost like finding suit upgrades in Metroid) left a taste in my mouth that was not bad, but more sour compared to the first two games. One big thing was the loss of the magic of the first game, and the more laid-back time limit but more difficult gameplay of the second.
@@slakoththesuperstar2639 I highly disagree. I like to think of color splash as a final flail back towards quality. And, to be fair, it got pretty far! AMAZING character interactions, actual new characters, FAN-FYUCKING-TASTIC music, plus damn good level design! Oh, and the koopalings (squee!).
He used clips from it in one of his last videos and every Nintendo-focused RU-vidr kept up with E3 news, so of course he's seen it. He probably preordered it and had it day one.
Benson Waldrop I don't see why the game gets so much hate! Sure, it's been talked about a lot for the past few years, to this day. But that's no reason for people to hate it! *A little advice from Joshsorcher:* Hate games because they're bad, not because of the fans. I forgot the last part.
The Super Shiny Mega Gengar Ditto. It was the best game of 2015. (In my opinion). It was the game that sparked livestreams, let’s plays, and theories. There’s no reason for this hate.
The thing is they would almost all be blessed unless we are talking about Wario ware snapped which still isn’t offensively bad or particularly awful. It’s just mediocre. All the Wario land and the other Wario ware games(and the odd game Wario world) are all good. I haven’t played master of disguise so I can’t say but that or snapped would make for cool blesssed or messed episodes
All I can request of you: Pokemon Ranger... Any one of the games just... PLEASE. WE'RE DESPERATE FOR ANY RANGER CONTENT. Also this is far less likely to happen because nobody's ever heard of this but maybe try the Spectrobes Series???
The moment he said dimentio and fawful team up I thought of a way that could easily double, or triple the game. There could have been a cutscene or event like half way through the game, that shows fawful finding dimentio and they agree to team up and take over the world so on and so forth. Then there could be a couple events or battles with the 2 as the game goes on. And just like in super paper Mario, after you defeat the final boss, dimentio, who you thought was just some secondary character, could come in and start an entirely new story arc that could EASILY double the game. But these are just my thought so it’s doubtful this would ever happen lol
Here’s my Mario and Luigi game ranking 5. Paper Jam 4. Dream Team 3. Partners in Time 2. SuperStar Saga 1. Bowsers Inside Story How would you rank the games?
A1 Video gamer instead I'll predict the next m & L games not counting remakes M&L 6: M&L Wario and Waluigi mayhem 7: M&L Fawful's return again 8: M&L Paper Jam 2, now inside the paper dimension and 3d world 9: M&L Shroobs revenge 10: M&L And the (what ever kingdom daisy comes from)
7: Superstar Saga 6: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions 5: Paper Jam 4: Dream Team 3: Partners in Time 2: Bowser's Inside Story 1: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey
You raise a number of good points but I have to highlight that yes, this was a crossover with sticker star, hence the lack of Luigi, any interesting characters, a new narrative, simplification of mechanics (level up points and cards) as not only did Alphadream have to appeal to this 'new market', they also had to do it in a way that didn't mess with the 'new' series' lore too much (read no lore so no messing). Similarly, the old enemies are all you see in Sticker Star and, I kinda get what they're going for with mirroring, each enemy has a paper counterpart, which probably works better on paper than in game, it does make many encounters variations on a theme. This mirroring is also probably why they replaced the interesting toads with generic ones, not only because that seems to be the direction they're going, see the remakes, but also because they have no counterpart in the StickerStar-verse. Another thing drawing from the Paper Mario influence rather than the M&L is the last Bowser fight, which isn't good but is the way that series is trending (see Colour Splash). Lastly, whilst we know paper Luigi exists in the StickerStar universe, at least to me, it feels like it would be derivative of partners in time (playing as 4 characters, two Marios and two Luigis) and would lack the streamlined design of the babies, meaning you would have to wrestle with at minimum four battles. Overall, agree with most of the points you made but can see reasons as to why Alphadream chose to (or was made to) exclude them and therefore agree with your conclusion that whilst in places flawed, Mario & Luigi & Paper Mario is a thoroughly enjoyable game. (ALTHOUGH F*** SOME OF THOSE MINIGAMES)
I remember when Paper Jam came out it's Miiverse Community had a Developers Room with Interviews with The Alpha Dream Staff and they commented on the fact the reason why they stuck with just Miyamoto Characters and no Mario & Luigi/Paper Mario Original Characters was because as they already had The Paper Doppelgangers they thought adding more characters would over fill the game's writing from what I can recollect.
I'm just happy to see iconic enemies make RPG debuts. I love me some Ninji. I'm just sad there weren't too many 3d world enemies. Hopefully we'll see Oddessy enemies in the next game
I’d really enjoy seeing you dig into post-trilogy+AJ Ace Attorney titles such as Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice. This show seems very fit for such a topic.
Paper Luigi actually IS in the game. After you beat the game, you'll unlock the music player and you can see him listening to the music while the others kick some ass.
Hey fawful I want to say thanks to you, before watching your channel, I always ignored the Mario and Luigi series but thanks to you and your channel I decided to give them a go and I am having a blast with them. So yeah thank you
Sorry to tell ya buddy but Fawful's full character arc for the first three games in my opinion we're the best parts for his character development his final chapter being Bowser's inside story since alpha dream has built him up to be the main villain. It wouldn't make sense for Fawful to come back as the main villain and ended it when he had taken action and succeeded in conquering half the mushroom kingdom IN ONE FREAKING DAY! It would make a lot of sense for alpha dream to close the curtains right then and there and kill him off, But if he we're to still be alive don't you think he would make a little cameo like dream team or partners in time and be a merchant or disguised. Edit: Let me rephrase that Fawful had a good run but don't expect him to come back anytime soon due to it not making any sense hence the remakes.
Head-canon explanation. Only Sticker Star and Color Splash take place in the Book. 64 TTYD and Super are in the Mario and Luigi universe just with a different art style. Its why there are no unique enemies or characters from the first three Paper Mario Games.
I remember when the game was first announced at E3 I was off the fucking walls about it because I had high expectations for it, coming off of the previous game. Of course, I was pissed when there wasn’t much to find in the game and that made my imagination run wild with that the game could’ve been. Now I think that’s what makes this one very special, because it’s like Super Mario 64 where kids who’ve played the game, might have had some weird fever dreams about things not being there or new things being in it, for the reason being that they’d let their imagination run wild about the game. The first four were compact in storytelling which worked out very well but this one had no proper story to tell, so that’s what triggered my imagination when I first played it when I was fourteen. So as a result, this game would probably be a big mandala affect for kids growing up in the 2010s or late 2000s.
Blessed. Fi is better than Navi any day of the week. The final Boss is a lot of fun. The controls work fine in my opinion. Girahim is an amazing character (wish he was a playable character in Smash Bros.) Skyward Sword Zelda is still the cutest version of Zelda in my opinion. This is the only Zelda game where you get to see a sort of romance between Link and Zelda. The bosses are pretty good (aside from Moldarach and Tentalus.). Most underrated Zelda game (other than Tri-Force Heroes and Minish Cap) in my opinion. I really hope this gets ported to the Switch. Still looking forward to the Link's Awakening remake.
As a fellow Star Fox fan, there are two games from the series I would like you to cover: Assault and Zero. Assault for being the one teenager people are divided on and Zero for being the student who tried their best, but didn't get as much love as it wanted.
Paper Luigi cameod in the Sound Test, but other than that there was no mention of him the entire game, which really felt like a waste, even if he doesn't usually go on adventures like Paper Mario.
You know, seeing Paper Bowser becoming armor makes me wish that Paper Mario and Luigi would be like armor to the regular bros and that if they went down the Paper Bros would take over or something.
This might be too soon, but maybe Ultra Sun and Moon as the next one? Hearing a lot of mixed opinions about it so far and people even going so far as saying "If you got S&M, might as well stick with that, you're not missing a whole lot". It sounds like a good game to put to this series.
8:30 So true... I know that if a company creates great games and series (Sega: Sonic Capcom: Sf,MM Alphadream: M&L) The people are going to ongoing but the best, problem is everything has a limit and when something falls short (sonic boom, MM being forgotten, Paper Jam) then people are gonna do nothing but bash it same with movie series (I'm looking at you Star Wars OG) but "fans" want nothing but the LITERAL BEST EVERY SINGLE DAMN TIME but when something isn't right it gets bashed and people call it trash, I can't stress enough about it because it's EVERYWHERE!! Anyways if you read this whole thing thanks for sticking around and hearing me out...
Colosseum and XD next!? Hype! As for future entries, Sonic Lost World, MGS2, GTAIV, Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, Danganronpa: Ultra Despair Girls (though I don't know if Logan's much of a DR fan), Super Paper Mario (I know Logan likes it, but it's a low-key divisive installment).
I gotta say this... Counter 1: Paper Luigi is in the game... BUT in the music selection screen. Counter 2: As a deck builder of sorts and a card gamer, the function of the card system kind of rewards you if you are kind of in a bind, saved up your power and powered your deck up with good cards and you can make some chedda battles happen with the power of amiibo! I currently got a pair of Yoshi amiibo that give me some nasty but funny card power-ups. Sure, those amiibo are 1 per battle things but when you are in a bind, a good bit of help can make the difference.
So far this new series is turning out pretty good, but then again it's only the first episode, however this series is showing some good and funny times. Keep going FM, your awesome.
Paper Luigi is actually in this game. But he’s not playable. If I remember, there’s a jukebox-like thing that works like a collection of the games music that is unlock able by prob beating the game or using a code thing. And if you go to the unlocked jukebox section in the game, then you will see paper Luigi resting on a beach chair while enemies and the three Mario bros run around behind him.
I wanna see a Blessed or Messed episode on ARMS, once the game feels that it's at its fullest. The current cast of 14 is good and all, but we have the possibility of 20-30 in due time.
Am I the only one who notices that Logan used the dragons fury sound effect for the bad? Maybe I noticed it because I have 300 hours on pyro, I play Tf2 a lot.
Woah woah woah, next time will be Colosseum and XD? But why? I recently replayed them and they are fantastic titles that gives a great and unique spin on the main series that rarely changed up in the main series (which I mean by them always doing gyms, the elite four, and mostly single battles before Sun and Moon came around to freshen things up).
Cybrawler253 I’m specifically talking about how it is a Pokemon RPG like the main games and how it gives a good challenge with a similar gameplay style to the actual main games.
The reason Paper Luigi wasn't a character in this (though he makes a cameo in the Music Player) was because they figured that making the combat involve controlling four characters would be too complicated for the player.
LoZ Spirit Tracks, Minish Cap and Phantom Hourglass. I havent heard much bad about them, but they seem very forgotten and underrated in the midst of the 3D console games.
Paper Luigi is actually in the game. Also it doesn’t make sense to add him to the trio to make a quadruple since he hasn’t done that much battling in the past paper Mario games.
The fact that bonus points are gone shouldn't be a bad thing - it was just switched with showing how many more levels until the next rank up, in my opinion.
Nintendo doesnt want new characters/edits of existing characters, in the Mario universe. This is why this game has no new characters. Not Alphadreams fault, but Nintendo's.
Paper Luigi was originally intended to be playable alongside paper Mario but was scraped because they thought it would be too hard to counter or dodge attacks using all 4 buttons
