I literally couldn't beat them when I was 11, 5 years later and I STILL can't beat them. I looked up a guide and it turns out I was severely under level for the fight and I had to restart the entire game lmao
For me its that damn unblockable trampoline attack when a bro dies. Making it an instant wipe if I mess up even once, that’s straight up bad game design, no attack should be uncounterable especially one that wipes the party with no way to counter.
They should make a music version from New Super Mario Bros. U's Princess Peach Is Saved, after it was Mario, Luigi, & Paper Mario versus Bowser Jr. & Paper Bowser Jr. and Mario, Luigi, and Paper Mario rescued Peach and Paper Peach!
Only jump and trio attacks will work on them. Ground attacks will miss as they’re in the air and non jump/trio attacks won’t deal any damage to them thanks to their clown cars. If you knock out 1 of them but not the other before their turn, the one that’s still standing will revive the other one. This also introduces the 3rd trio guard: Trampoline Guard. Knock them both out in the same turn to win! Oh, and this is one of those boss fights where the enemy always goes first, regardless of your team’s base speed stats.
So mario and luigi just defeat Bowser Jr and bowser is super mad but later on in the game mario and luigi kill the rest of his children (I'm assuming they die, they do explode) and he doesn't care at all
They're not his children, that was only something they added in the localization of the manuals and the cartoon. Also exploding doesn't mean a whole lot. A lot of Mario bosses explode and show up just fine in the next game.
Before the Bowser Jr. Duo battle begins, Mario, Luigi, and Paper Mario have to do is EXPERT training, by defeating Bowser & Paper Bowser’s minions, that way, their levels’ll go up HIGH, because the higher they go, the farther they’ll get to be AT LEAST level 50 or level 100 on Mario, Luigi, and Paper Mario’s training. And Bowser Jr. and Paper Bowser Jr. are GOING DOWN!!!!! I’ve failed on the Bowser Jr. Duo for couple of days, and THIS time, this’ll be SO different, from now on. And I WON’T be able to fail this time! If I fail one more time, I’m gonna put my foot down!!!!! If the trio win the Bowser Jr. Duo, the trio’ll get the Book and the Peach Duo back from the Bowser & Bowser Jr. Duo.
I only fail because if one of the bros go down they use that bullshit unfair trampoline attack before I can revive which some asshat developer thought to make uncounterable without all 3 bros. No other game in the series had unavoidable attacks like this garbage game

This fight is absolute bs on low level. If one attack lands a bro will most certainly die and then they will follow up with that stupid trampoline bomb which becomes an unblockable one shot attack. Wtf were they thinking with that garbage
