best level of 2016 right here, just in time for christmas

As old as it is, I’ve still never seen another explorational troll level like this, and while some of the level design might be a bit *dated* (read hot garbage) I do think it’s a shame there hasn’t been much like it.

Jesus fucking christ, this is the most sophisticated troll level I've seen so far. This is some Moriarty levels of genius mixed with extreme sadism and a tad bit of self-hatred poured into a glass made of moles.

Best description of what Poo made for part 3 of the challenge: "Part of me wanted to make this entire level to like... actually have no point to it, like, there would be some obscure puzzle that you could solve earlier on the level and not have to play any of this garbage; and, like, if you did play through all the garbage, then you would just die at the end." - 23:23

After watching poo play this monstrosity, i just have to say... This is a master piece. A evil, twisted, eldritch abomination of a master piece, but a masterpiece non the less. You should be proud, a bit ashamed as well perhaps, but very much proud. You were always a great scientist gamer, but with this you have proved yourself to be a true evil genius scientist gamer, and that is how it's supposed to be. Keep on making great (and terrible ones like this one) levels and great videos!

Carl has unequivocally rescinded his right to ever complain about another troll level. EVER. For the rest of his life. He could be a 90 year old man getting trolled by a level with nothing but pick-a-pipes and troll doors, and he would simply have to laugh and say "Fun level!" in a 100% genuine, non-sarcastic way.

Carl, this was the single worst level I've ever had the displeasure of getting on super expert. Because of you, I broke my no-skip self-rule that I had for 2 months. I cannot forgive this infraction. You will be banished to mole-land for all eternity.

Rewatching this in 2022 has made me realize how Carl's levels have gotten so much better but so much worse at the same time.

I still love the one troll level you played where it turned out all the coins and keys were bullshit...and there was really nothing preventing you from just exiting the level at the beginning. Watching you play that was hilarious - I wouldn't have realized that either (I think I STILL didn't realize it for a minute after you had the epiphany just 'walking through').

I wouldn't mind troll levels like this cause at least there's some creativity to it. Unlike most troll levels where they just spam you with enemies and hidden blocks. Pretty good.

I just watched DGR (Dave) play this as a sort of "finale" to the SMM1 era of troll levels, and I must say, it is pretty insane! The reaction we got from him when he ran into the hidden spikes at the very end was beautiful; well done man!

There should be a Satan Expert challenge which is just this level but you "only" get 100 lives

If any one ever says “I’m gonna trust Carl.” Just quote JonTron. “You could do that, you could... but why? Why would you do that?”

The real genius to this level is that, unlike most troll levels, the solution is a sort of puzzle, and not a dev exit. Aside from that, the intricacies of this level are not theoretical but tested out and verified by the creator. I think what made this my favorite MM level was finding out you could bring the Yoshi from room #5 (seen in ryukahr's playthrough); despite being made for the sole purpose of creating frustration, the level manages to be a troll, puzzle, and exploration level all at the same time. Great job, Carl!

I love how Ryukahr successfully avoiding virtually every troll in the level. Like, none of them really got them. When you play shit like this so much, I guess you develop a sixth sense for it.

I had to subscribe to Poo after watching him put up with your level for hours. He wouldn't take any hints either. I'm a huge fan of yours but I'm rooting for him and can't wait for his revenge level after this. :P

April 8, 2024. Super Mario Maker servers shut down. Carl was never sorry. (I remember playing this on a friend's Wii U. I wasn't aware of what trolls were at the time. I don't remember if I finished it, but I assured that Carl had awaken his evil maker side since then). Thank you Carl for enlighten my days with every video since more than eight years!
