Val was one of the most influential people in kaizo level design in the early days of the game. His levels were pretty well known all over the world, and this was his most famous one of 2015. You may remember GrandPOObear spent over 100 hours trying to beat this level when it was new. Thankfully, the skill level of the community has improved since then, so it did not take nearly that long. I was actually impressed I nailed the final jump on my second try.
