Next stream you should give everybody a 9 star handicap for the most thrilling and exciting Pyramid Park. That way it's unlikely anyone will be bullied to zero stars and very strong play can lead to huge leads.
I like some extra stars on most boards. It gives chance time and/or duels a little spice from turn 1, but yeah, it works best on the star steal boards.

This is how I would’ve implemented the dud option. It’s kinda like virtual UNO’s challenge rule. Here. If the person in a higher place(based on stars only) decided to duel someone. If they aren’t tied in stars. The game would treat it as bad manners and would put the dud in so they have a chance of getting nothing for picking at someone lower in the standings. However if it’s the other way around and the player in the higher rank wins. That’ll be treated as defending themselves and won’t get the dud penalty. If the lower rank player wins they won’t either so it’s even game.

@@snuffysam fair but it's dependant on you getting access to them unlike the dolphins which are available to all players not those who get rng lucky... and to be fair yellow and red type items are more of a game wide advantage 7 has over 8... I'm also not cracking down on pagoda peak cause of how garbage duels are in this game or mic spices... both of which can throw off the balance of the board

I was ecstatic when I heard that you were doing Identifying Luck for Mario Party 8 because of that board alone. I have some fun memories tied to Mario Party 8, and I'm looking forward to an Identifying Luck on it.
The bit with you sicking your lawyer on Luigi with the fireball orb was way funnier than it probably should have been. And taking out loans to pay your debts, could you imagine? The orb space afterwards was his collateral…or perhaps the enormous donation. Also, unpopular opinion, pop off ZoomZike is more enjoyable that evil ZikeZoom.
New viewer here, I have to compliment how informative your mario party videos are, both in Identifying Luck and gameplay itself! I love the dedication and enthusiasm you've got going on!!
I can't recall if you mentioned this in your video, but from what I've seen at 1:29:24 it seems like events that force an effect on you can override ones you applied yourself (In this case the Koopa Kid giving the cursed mushroom effect overriding the 3 mushroom one for Toad) Also, ZoomZike... You should've stopped saying "Please don't ..." after like the 3rd time.... It WILL happen if you say it... Classic Mario Party magic.
When doing Neon Heights, I found it is best to play using the 8 player mode, with you play as both the players maped to controller. A plus to having two players, other than the events changing, is you could have two character orbs.
i wish there were a way to create, like, custom game settings, like being able to play a board in reverse, removing the dud in the duel roll, make 5 chests show up at a time in neon heights instead of 3 including 2 with a star and 1 with a ztar, adjusting the spawns of all orbs to do things like allow pink boo in pagoda peak, make the flower orb show up for everyone in orb spaces in windmillville, having the solo pyramid park bandit always on the board ready to be stolen from, starting a game with 10 stars and whoever has the least stars at the end wins (good luck avoiding bonus stars, and you need to pay 20 coins on a star space to refuse it otherwise you get it added to your total)
Yoshi can't use the egg, Waluigi's vacuum isn't super great. YET, both games, Yoshi won Grand Canal and Waluigi didn't win but really gave you a run for your money. Their specials may suck but they've given you a real problem xD
This video is a perfect showcase on why I don't play against the highest difficulty CPUs. You take Oil Crisis for instances and if you don't make it, you're guaranteed to lose; the CPU always wins. A lower difficulty CPU is far more natural without those instant inputs. It's why I don't play against level 9 CPUs in Smash. Everyone has a fair chance of winning and it gauges the overall skill of everyone accurately. You would have to be perfect and if you're training like this it's not gonna translate well into a real match. So if you want some artificial difficulty then play against the highest CPU, if you wanna have a natural and a arguably far more fun time then play on a lower difficulty setting.
