Honestly, I like the new concept of the game. The bosses are cool, the car is strategic, the one-way path makes it easy to navigate. The whole idea the Miyamoto created makes this Mario Party seem like a brand new experience, and that's just what we need after 8 repetitive versions.
idk what everyone's complaining about with the new car. They did a great job incorperating the concept of the vehicle into the game. I mean, you got the Captain Events, Choosing one Route that can screw everyone else over because they're going the same way as you. It gives a great new feel to the series instead of the same exact thing every game, yeah it was enjoyable until about 8 games and a ds remake.
@KanashimiTenshi Not everything is as it seems. Everybody hated the idea of moving in a car, but it looks like it really helps the game. Having the usual 'everbody for themselves' wouldnt have worked for a game like this.
i'll admit this new style with and interesting twist but me, my siblings, and friends have been playing mario party since the first 64 game and while it may have been "repetitive" but it was also classic, thing only thing i'm not skeptical about this game is the boss fights and even those have been seen in the series i'm not saying 9 is bad but its a shock to a ffair amount of long time fans
I like the part when after the player lands on a Dice Block like "4-5-6 Dice Block" suddenly closed up moves, Yellow Toad: "Wait, There's still something in there!"
Minigame order 6:30 Magma Mayhem 8:53 Tuber Tug 10:05 Bumper Sparks ( Bowser Jr. ) 11:53 Sock it to Lakitu ( Boss ) 16:47 Skyjinks 21:13 Snow Go 25:49 Wiggler Bounce ( Boss )
LMFAO, did anyone else notice that the 2 rocks on the mountain in the background say "M" and "P" (M stands for Mario, P stands for party. Also, the island in the middle of the board is shaped into the number 9. Rock Mountain 1: M Rock Mountain 2: P Island in the Middle: 9 MP9 (Mario Party 9) Miyamoto you clever rascal. :P
@DinerSals I'm just giving my opnion, i grew up with the old mario party games, the classic 4 players, coins and stars... the freedom to move to the direction you want to go and minigames almost every time, that was just perfect to me, this one i dunno, they trapped you with three characters and a freaking car! c'mon!
@XTheNumberOfTheBeast True point, but not really, Rhythm heaven Fever is just a Unique Rhythm game but its 2D Art Direction is Superb use of using quality textures and animations instead of having to use graphics. For all its worth, 9 could use some work and your right, but this game has New super Mario's bros. Textures, with some improvement, you cant say thats crap either.
@Choxie001 You still fight bosses in party mode, and you can pick which one you fight. For instance, you can fight Whomp in the forest stage, when you usually fight him in the factory.
There's always been crazy stars like "bought the most stuff" "Lost the most coins" "used the most items" and "went the farthest" specifically to mess up the enemies, so if some guy has been wasting his time buying thrice blocks, he would get 3 free stars if 3 out of 4 of those end up happening. these stars aren't too different.
Honestly, I prefer Mario Party 8 because you can play as Boo (my favorite character). I always loved playing as Boo in mario tennis and mario party 8, etc. But this version is different in that there is an actual finish line, there is no set number of turns, etc. But I still get to play as Peach (my second favorite character)
Thus begins another adventure for Mario and his pals as they pushed thru goals to reach Bowser, collect stars, and defect their enemies. Who will win the ultimate battle? Stay tuned to find out next time on Mario Party 9.
@XTheNumberOfTheBeast I know what you mean, im sorry for thinking something else, cause i know what you mean exactly considering other games that make use of it. Rhythm heaven for example, is just a mainly 2D game, but the animation is Superb, so it makes use of the graphical quality in that espect despite it being a rhythm game. With that said, i agree, Mario Party 9 could be better looking, however, compared to 8, its much better atleast, thats something.
Wait When toad is the captain you know how yellow toad calls him "Captain Toad"? And how in this game he's so badass? Toad is so badass in this game Nintendo made his own game starring him in it.
@veemon355 Maybe it is supposed to let you have more turns, waiting for 3 computers to have their turns does take a little time, im guessing they made it 3-player for the first few boards in single player. But you can still play 4-Player.
What I don't get is why do they always use something like a 4-6 block when they are LITERALLY one space away from a captain event. Seems like a waste if you ask me.
@thegiantnintedofan That is not my point, the fact that you are stuck inside a god damn car with the rest of players and that the mini games AREN'T constant is what ruins the mood, besides you cna actually CHOOSE wich mini game you want between the games they show you, i much more prefered when it was a complete surprise
...Yeah, but I wish we had a game that was a lot like the first 3...AND HAD DONKEY KONG AS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER! Honestly, I don't understand why Nintendo stopped with him as a PC post-#4. Honestly, I'd rather play as him than Boo, or Kamek! I swear, those guys are getting lazy with their choice in playable characters...
@XTheNumberOfTheBeast Im sorry but your not making any sense with your words, they never exagerated anything using poor quality graphics. They exaggerate using uniquly great graphics. The Wii, for all its worth, is more powerful than the gamecube, its just inferior to 360/PS3, but that does NOT mean it cant produce great looking games, games like Smash Bros brawl,Xenoblade,Skyward Sword and others cant be handled by Gamecube.
