We were a little surprised, too. We expected them to be a lot higher upon returning to them, but we have been spoiled by better controls, better minigames, and Mario Party 4

They are some of the best in the series!

@@Gateway2Drillbit I agree that 6 and DS are A tier. I think 6 is good, and would put it A tier also, probably not S. DS is also a great candidate for A tier.

4, 6, and DS, are sincerely the cream of the crop when it comes to Mario Party games

Probably accurate that Mario Party 2 is only C tier.

It really needed to be better, but it's a product of it's time, even if it wasn't that great

It's the general unreliability of the motion contols that make any minigame that doesn't directly rely on button controls grating to the nerves. Even the ones that rely specifically on button controls are okay at best. Bowser's Theme is just...completely random. It sounds like it just never existed with a tune in mind, it juts kind of is. It's really strange and without form. It's really strange and malformed.

Nine should have been lower than 8. Despite its flaws 8 imo holds up better. Plus my bias since it was the first MP that I played. Just finished 5's story on hard to unlock intense difficulty

@@brionis2686 actually, we did place 9 lower than 8 and both below 1. It’s kind of confusing in the image, as it is in all tier list images, but in the D rank it went 1, 8, 9. Also, we agree 8 is better than 9, while not by much, there are some rather late differences between the two

After years Of playing the series, we kind of were able to cultivate what we thought was good and what we thought needed improvement in the series. So this was born! And yeah, we have a lot of opinions the vast populous of the internet does t share haha

@@Gateway2Drillbit Yeah I was the most surprised that 2 and 3 were C tier and the 4 was S tier. I kind of agree that 2 might be a bit overrated because with only one item and less improved gameplay you can be pretty limited at times. I would put 3 above C even though some of the minigames are bad, just because a lot of the things in that game are excellent and the game has a lot of new features. I like 4 but I probably wouldn't have it as stand alone S because it is slower and some minigames aren't actually phenomenal in that game even though some are. Then again I like to play 4 while drinking so when I drink it might be S to me so idk.

Also Mario Party 8 is not D tier to me, some things in it are D but it also has to A tier things in it. It is a lot of fun to play with friends.

It's really held back by the technology of it's time, and it really didn't hold up with the upgrades made in Motion Control Technology.

No hate, here. You can enjoy any game you want, and we're glad you get such enjoyment out of an installment we didn't like much. Awesome!

7 was a special installment which was forced to do more in a world where 4 and 6 already exist and already out do it in a multitude of ways. 7's minigames are also severely lacking in content, intrigue, skill, and challenge. But, it was still Mario Party so it still holds a nice place in our hearts.

@Gateway2Drillbit interesting, I want to hear the multitude of ways 4 and 6 outdo 7! I think 7 is the most underrated Mario Party. MP 7 may have less really good minigames than 4 or 6, but 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6 certainly have more duds than 7 and probably 4 and 8 do as well (DS might not because it is so good!). Like 7 has way less unbalanced 1 v 3 minigames also except for maybe 8 and DS. My only issue with 7 is that there can be just a bit too much going on that's out of your control, the combination of Bowser Time, Chance Roulette, Character Orbs, Mic Spaces and repetitive DK and Bowser minigames can all be a bit much if you want a simple Mario Party game. I still think it's the most underrated one though because there are very few terrible minigames if that makes sense.

With 4, 6, and DS, there were so many minigames to look forward to, as well as the games never spreading themselves too thin with extras that didn't matter. They stayed in a box, per se, and didn't venture too far. I think it was due to each game having specific mechanics added to them that appeared throughout the game to alter other game mechanics too. With 4, it was growing and shrinking, as well as it being the first MP on the Gamecube. With 6, it was the Day/ Night system. With DS, it was everyone being tiny. These 3 installments went in directions that most MP games don't go in, where they intentionally box themselves and can only do things within the box, but they were almost always impressive. With 7, there was just too much going on, and way too much that could have been lobbed off without anyone noticing much. There are very few truly awful MP games, but 7 is not one, considering what we had to put up with for the TRULY awful ones. I'd say B tier is right around where it belongs considering everything about it, and the others around it. But everyone has different experiences with Mario Party games, everyone has a different first and a different favorite. It's all about the experiences created while playing them, and the memories you have.
