I’m honestly glad that 9 isn’t entirely near the bottom of this list. This game doesn’t need the burden of being called the “worst”, glad that people are softening up on the game. Oh and BTW, here is my synopsis on each game I played before or own now. 3: My choice of game to have from the N64 era, and it is worth it in my eyes! Advance: I keep forgetting that I tried to play this on an emulator at school once. Probably for good reason since I probably would ignore it for a long time anyways. 8: I always have an amazing time with this game, it’s so nostalgic for me. Definitely underrated DS: the HOLY grail of handheld Mario Party games. Also nostalgic. 9: I don’t care what the haters of this game tell me, I still like this game. Of course, nostalgic too. Island Tour: Elevator Pitch: Party Edition. Literally. Though I think it’s just fine, the most potential I can find are the 2 boards that use cards. 10: just a repeat of 9, but with changes that are better or worse, like minigame spaces and a lack of story mode. I’m also not a fan of the lackluster performance to bring back the classic gameplay with amiibo Party. Bowser Party is fine. Star Rush: another game where the game WEARS potential on its sleeve with Toad Scramble and Balloon Bash. Also pretty alright. Top 100: …no…why? Super: looking back on this game, I can’t tell if this game is rushed or not. Between the massive roster, small board selection, group of content that feels like the variety is an illusion, and online after years of its release. Also pretty alright. Superstars: this is what the Top 100 should’ve been, and it’s great. Could use some DLC like everyone says. The games not mentioned here, I haven’t played them yet. If you have suggestions, please make me VERY interested to do so.
A lot of what 9's critics say are just objectively wrong as well. For example: It having "no strategy" Also, DS easily has the best Single Player experience in all of Mario Party
Oh my God this game was my childhood. This one is still and will always be my favorite. This game was extremely unique and looked different from all the other games.
Dunno how much this means, but I'll give my two-sense. 1: Mario Party 6 2: Mario Party 7 3: Mario Party 3 4: Mario Party 5 5: Mario Party DS 6: Mario Party 2 7: Mario Party 8 8: Mario Party 4 9: Mario Party 10: Mario Party Advanced 11: Mario Party Superstars 12: Mario Party 9 13: Mario Party 10 14: Super Mario Party 15: Mario Party Star Rush 16: Mario Party Island Tour 17: Mario Party Top 100 I don't want to shake hands or high-five my opponents. I want to play Mario Party. I think 7 is super underrated. The 8-player dynamic was a good way to have some newer and unique minigames to shake things up. Mario Party 6 is hands-down the greatest Mario Party created. Things fell apart starting with 9. My progress on the board was determined by the actions of others. I would have liked if they made the car mechanic a different mode entirely, keeping it in the game to keep it unique. I also give bonus points to Mario Party games with a good story mode.
I agree with where you put Mario Party 9, I think it doesn't deserve to be as hated as it is, but it's not better than the older games(btw I have a bias for it since it's my first mario party game).
MP8’s got its positives, but I can understand someone saying they don’t like it. I personally have a blast every time I play it, but some minigames have an overreliance on motion controls (Flip the Chimp probably being the worst offender). I know Koopa’s Tycoon Town is the only one people remember, but I honestly liked a couple of the other boards too. I made a lot of people I played with mad on Bowser’s Warped Orbit because I always got the luckiest rolls whenever I used the Bowser candy. The King Boo board I can never remember the name of is frustrating and random, but having a pure random board can also just be a good time in and of itself. And while it did have its lows for minigames, it also had its highs as well. It can be an annoying game, between some of the motion control intensive minigames and that friend who insists on playing Goomba’s Booty Boardwalk every time (don’t ask), but I think there’s great fun to be had in MP8. In my head the above writing was a lot shorter than
17: Mario party 10 16: Mario party 9 15: Mario party island tour 14: Mario party the top 100 13: Mario party advance 12: Mario party star rush 11: Mario party 8 10: super Mario party 9: Mario party 5 8: Mario party 4 7: Mario party 7 6: Mario party DS 5: Mario party superstars 4: Mario party 6 3: Mario party 2: Mario party 2 1: Mario party 3
my rankings of the ones ive played 1. Mario Party 3 (been really getting into it lately due to n64 online. fun boards, actually has good items, and decent minigames) 2. Mario Party DS (Fantastic minigames, fun boards, and a cool story mode) 3. Mario Party Superstars (Like the boards and some good minigames, but too many lucky spaces) 4. Mario Party 2 (wish there was more than one item slot) 5. Mario Party 9 (nostalgia) 6. Mario Party 8 (pretty decent) 7. Super Mario Party (really boring board play) 8. Mario Party Starrush (uhhhhh... yikes)
My rankings on the Mario Party games: 1st:Mario Party 3 2nd:Mario Party 6 3rd:Mario Party 2 4th:Mario Party 8 5th:Mario Party DS 6th:Mario Party 7 7th:Mario Party Superstars 8th:Mario Party 5 9th:Mario Party 4 10th:Mario Party 9 11th:Mario Party 1 12th:Super Mario Party 13th:Mario Party Star Rush 14th:Mario Party Island Tour 15th:Mario Party 10 16th:Mario Party Top 100 17th:Mario Party Advance
As such lists are completely subjective, your list is fine. I can understand some entries, and I would love to play some of the games as I was too young or never owned the consoles or games. What I can say about the ones I had/played (and can remember to play): 9: I see why everyone says that every character should move individually, but I liked the car. It gives some opportunities to mess with the other players with some strategy. I would have made this one mode, while another mode being the "normal" party, where everyone moves for themselves. 10: Like for 9, but I really enjoyed Bowser mode. He always f***s with the players and now you can do that. I think that is really fun, especially with the CPUs at higher difficulties. I don't have any amibos, which blocks of at least one more for me, so that's all I can say. Super: I love the partner mode (2v2, I don't know the English name, I'm German) and the dice for each character. But I agree. Give us the heck more boards! Superstars: I did miss to play on a team after Super, but the boards are quite fun and the minigames. Well, yeah, I didn't play much, as it belongs to my boyfriend, so I can only so much about it. I think I played DS, but I can't remember. That's too long in the past for me.
Very respectable list. Although MP9 above MP1 is a bit of a hard sell for me still lol. Just because I hate the car mechanic THAT much. But I will say that I've warmed up to MP9 over the years. While the way it mixed up the formula was annoying as heck... Its not really a game that felt empty compared to the other NDCube MP games. It has a lot of variety, the music is on point, and its less annoying about motion controls than MP8. Buuuut the closer a game is to the traditional formula... the better imo. I'm open to all sorts of cool new side modes and small gameplay shake up ideas, but it should never be messed with.
Mario party 4 is always my favorite Mario party because it is the final Mario party to Have Donkey Kong as a playable character they should have kept him as playable
Definitely the list I agree with most from the ones I’ve seen. I fully agree with 9 placing higher than 1, and I’m glad you talked about the minigame modes cause they are honestly great! I love this series and still play 1-9 and Superstars pretty regularly with friends online. Such a great series, and I’m feeling pretty optimistic for Jamboree
I'm definitely excited for Jamboree to come out, I just wish we had a treehouse or something to show off just a bit of board gameplay. That's all I want before the game comes out!
@@ConnorCondria Same, I’m also hoping we might get some more board customization options like in MP1, with maybe being able to change the amount of lucky spaces. That was my only real complaint with Superstars
Connor, I like your video and I’m not surprised by your ranking since I’ve seen a lot of your content. I have a question that I’m interested in: can you write a 500 word essay on how Mario Party 6 and 7 are the two most similar games in the series yet have way different spots on this list? I want an argument, 3 main points and a conclusion. I will read the essay, even a short version.
@@Barbarian2625 it would be epic, because we need it. I've noticed that various RU-vidrs will say obscure things about 7 such as, "The heart of a Mario Party game is missing", "Nothing really stands out as particularly amazing or horrendous in Mario Party 7", "Things were getting stale at that point", "Bowser Time". I don't entirely get it. people bash 5 for having a bad item system, they give credit to 6 for changing them, then they take that credit away from 7....even though the item system is way better in 7 than 5. Countdown Bleck also says "These are easily the best boards of any Mario Party", which I agree with, but it doesn't seem to matter to anyone.
I’m glad i’m not the only one that thinks 9 is overhated. I mean, sure the car mechanic is not good, but there is still a lot of replay value within the modes. Not to mention it actually as a story mode, and those are always a hoot to play despite the car mechanic. In fact, since you’re given more to play in 9, than 10 just goes to show how when Mario party 10 came out, it made 9 look like a total godsend. Edit: Totally forgot to mention this, but I guess more people nowadays softened up to 9 more, since back in 2012 we all agreed it was the worst game but 10 years later we then start to realize that other games did worse than 9 and we were able to see the good in 9
I’m happy you put Mario Party Advance at the bottom of the list. I hate this game because any game that has the word “advance” with it means that it’s just awful.
Mario Party 2 is what happens when you take the questionable design choices of the previous game and make them better. Mario Party 10 is what happens when you take the questionable design choices of the previous game and keep them exactly the same, make them worse, or make a mockery out of an otherwise good idea like traditional boards (Amiibo Party).
Solid list in my opinion, not too much disagreeable. I would only really change the top 4 to be 1st being mp3 2nd being superstars 3rd being mp8 and 4th being mp6. I'm sure if I played mario party 6 PROPERLY then I'd probably agree with this list 100% fully. But what I did play was still enjoyable to earn my top 4th spot.
31:40 nitpick i know but playing the exact same mode 2 times to unlock the full roster isn't replayability, it's just padding, if it least had a 2 player mode like the story mode in 7.
My ranking of the ones I've played from best to worst Mario party 8 Mario party 7 Mario party Ds Mario party 2 Mario party island tour Mario star rush Mario party top 100 Mario party 10
That's fair. Between Bowser Time, the character specific items, and the mic being as big as it is in the party mode I just felt like I have more fun in 4
Bowser time is a great addition for me it makes him more of a presence and a actual purpose in the game and can just cause so much chaos that adds to the already chaotic nature of Mario Party
@@ConnorCondria i have never agreed with this if you love 6 than you should still really like 7 not love it because of the things you mentioned but still really like it. When 7 has great boards, minigames, side content, and music i dont see how all of this just makes it towards the bottom.
I like most of this list but 8 and DS (to a much smaller degree) being SO HIGH and 4 being so low is massacring my heart. Decent list overall though. My list would go 17th.) Mario Party Advance 16th.) Mario Party The Top 100 15th.) Mario Party 10 14th.) Mario Party 9 13th.) Mario Party Island Tour 12th.) Mario Party 8 11th.) Super Mario Party 10th.) Mario Party DS 9th.) Mario Party Star Rush 8th.) Mario Party 1 7th.) Mario Party 5 6th.) Mario Party 2 5th.) Mario Party Superstars 4th.) Mario Party 3 3rd.) Mario Party 7 2nd.) Mario Party 6 1st.) Mario party 4
This has nothing to do with the video itself, but it is relevant to social media. I would like Microsoft to create throw on social media platform where you can video call and screen record at the same time ideally, they should make you show the other person what the link consist of
