nah, the fact that the game took place in tokyo, and that it was made in japan, I was like "they got to do something special with it". Turns out, the official olympics took place in that game!
Shirtless Eggman and Wario may be what is making people go wild over this game. But the day Sonic is seen wearing pants, that's when I'm going to lose it.

I would prefer Pikachu instead of Mega-Man so the title would instead be called; Kirby and Pikachu at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games. Edit: I still prefer Mario and Sonic, but Kirby and Pikachu would be cool.

i don't think that will happen since sega just make the games and then let them die. its a shame that they never gave support to team sonic racing and its community already died. they could've patched forces to have some better physics or at least put a multiplayer mode in there but, they don't.
I love the visuals, design, and the new sports. I especially love how the characters, both male and female, have outfits matching the event. But I have one major problem wirh this iteration (which also happened back in Rio) was how certain characters were event exclusive. I just dont understand why. Why could we not have Rosalina, Wendy, Rouge, and the others in the other events?
@@DaMattGuy Well, the match usually takes a minute to get into, but you get disconnected 10 seconds into the match, and sometimes, you get disconnected as soon as the match is about to start. Then you have to wait ten minutes to find a lobby
I’m glad we got Tokyo 2020, but at the same time I feel let down. Forgive me if I sound like an ungrateful bastard, but with 4 years from skipping 2018, I was hoping SEGA would cook up something stellar for the Olympics in their home country. Sure, we got story mode and online, but characters are still locked to certain events, there are only THREE Dream events, and there’s no tournament mode, Miis, or even music customization. It doesn’t feel like a game that had 4 years to be developed.
Man it would be so cool if the different chapters took place in different eras of video game history with different environments with different eras of models, like N64 models in one section. Also OMG I LOVE THE PAST VERSIONS, it’s like an old sprite comic, I love it!
Watching this in 2020 and realizing now this game is one of the only Tokyo 20202 olympic games merchandise that will ever get released therefore make it rarer.
Nintendo wasn't satisfied and Sega was jealous of Mario with no shirt in Odyssey. They knew that the only way to up the ante was by bringing in Mario and Sonic's thicc boiz, Eggman and Wario!
It feels like all the building blocks are there for this series, we’re just waiting for them to combine all the elements into a single package. This entry looks like it came really close, but they need to really double down on the dream events.

Watching this almost a year later when the Olympics this is based on have not yet taken place (and may not at all) really highlights the surrealist nature of this year.

I'm glad that they did 2020 after skipping 2018, but I'm very sad that they didn't have a rhythmic gymnastic event like the rhythmic ribbons or hoop, I love playing those types of events as Daisy, it's just really fun.

You'd think with the Olympics being set in Japan, Mario and Sonic's home turf, Sega and Nintendo would put some more effort into this, but nope. Just 3 Dream Events, 2 being based on recent games, a neat Retro mode that's fun for a few minutes, the lack of miis and unlockable characters being exclusive to certain events... it makes for a pretty ho-hum title on the Switch...

With the Paris 2024 Olympics they need to make a new Mario & Sonic game but instead completely ditch Sonic and replace him with Kiryu from the Yakuza series because let’s face it Kiryu is SEGA’s true mascot at this point.
After beating story Mode I had fun completing missions for every sport, and winning gold medals in every difficulty. I have more than 30 hours on this game and it's the best mario sport game on switch
Because sega made the Tokyo Olympics official game, I thought there wasn't going to be a sonic and mario. I mean you can literally dress as sonic in their game. And its pretty fun btw.
