Alvaro Emilio Sou brasileiro e nunca soube dessa canção (Mãe Preta). Sempre achei que que Barco Negro fosse portuguesa. Adoro essa canção e prefiro a versão com Dulce Pontes.

luiz fernando Pires Bom dia. Soube da história por acaso. A música é brasileira, antiga da década de 40. Tem aqui no youtube. O autor é Caco Velho e você pode encontrar com Ney Matogrosso. A música foi proibida em Portugal. ficou "na gaveta" e depois de algum tempo foi feita uma versão (Barco Negro) e foi gravada por Amália Rodrigues. Entre as versões com Amália, Dulce e Mariza, ainda fico com a Mariza. Abraços
