So many things that don’t make sense here. 1- where are they getting the price $300-$400 a quart from? That sounds insanely high. 2-Every year it’s worth more because a % evaporates through the wood and is lost. 3- they’re calling it a retirement fund but after you factor in the % lost and the rate of inflation is the value actually going up or just evening out?? 4- if it is going up how much extra are you actually making compared to if you just sold all the fresh stuff now compared to waiting
Who the fuck is going to pay $300-400 per qt of some backwoods liquor when you can just go to a liquor store and buy some shit made with quality controls and a label (so you know there is some consistency and quality) ?
Yea its not all legal actually you can have a fuel making permit or lisence but the the still has to be not residential you cant be caught drinking or selling it they aint actors I can assure you I'm from west virginia y'all dont understand theres a lot of woods in these places its hard to find 2 old hillbillies in 1000 acres byt some is dramatized and set up to look more I teresting just ficking wnjoy the knowledge
@@Noadvantage246 very good question and one I don't have an answer for unfortunately. You do kinda have to know someone if you know what I mean. I would start in the local bars. If you're just looking for a quart or something most people aren't hesitant about talking about that amount.
I deliver wine and spirits for a living, in the exact same areas these guys are in. Their products are in every store. Making it in the woods doesn’t make it illegal. You’re not fooling anyone.
I look forward to watching y'all always. Makes us and show us nothing is impossible if u put ur mind to it. And I love to meet both y'all. Y'all are one of a kind.
even if its fake, you can't hide these twos impeccable chemistry, they talk to each other like me and my homie at fedex when we get to able to load/unload together
Coming from a boy who lives in a bordering county to Cocke County , these guys are very much real. And their Liqour is as well. Call bullshit if you will, but us locals know the truth :)
Imagine if these men could do this on there property. ..there operations would be great than this...government to invest into thing they don't need to concerned with
There's a difference between swilling liquor and sipping liquor. Sipping liquor is pricey, but on the right occasion, with the right bottle it's definitely worth it. It's kinda like the difference between blended scotch and real single malt, y'know?
@@squeaz8268 If they are legally licensed distillers then by definition it isn't Moonshine and they aren't Moonshiners. Makeing the whole concept of this show a ripoff.
I paid £300 for a bottle of whiskey for my brothers birthday it was a Macallan 18 year old single malt from a Sherry cask. Good liquor goes for good money.
I always wonder, if moonshining was illegal, then why make a show that compiles of all the evidence that the government needs to these guys away? i’m just a curious soul.
The police is well aware of this show, and they make the producers make sure that nothing illegal actually happens. The process is fairly accurate but they get swapped out for water during the distillation process.
@@nightspirits5608 jb rader is popcorn Suttons friend he worked with. to all of yall who are saying its fake. its definitely not. they cannot use this show in any court. so its not incriminating them. If they are selling liquor in stores its probably some small distillery using they likeness as promotion.
@@joshlasky8138 ik it ain’t fake people are just stupid, they just assume it’s fake because they ain’t “caught” actually do research into why they ain’t caught n you’ll see it ain’t fake 🤦♂️
Love the show and you are 2 of favorite moonshiners..., If I as I'd would apply for your moonshine college.......these different arts and crafts need to be passed on to youngsters...how bees doing he hang of it this time???????well mark and digger gotta go........keep the moon shining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?👵🌵. Made in the 🇺🇸
If you read this comment i dare you to play the drinking game while watching this video. Rules: 1shot= everytime they say likker 3shots= everytime they say popcorn a tribute to the 👑
I love Johnnie Walker 18 yr. Old Blended Scotch Whisky. I don't drink it very often because it's pretty expensive. The prices these guys are talking about work out to more money than Johnnie Walker 18 yr. Old. They make good stuff, but they will never get that sort of money for their moonshine
You’d think with how famous they are, they could afford a bigger dolly. Can’t imagine getting a 250-300 pound barrel of liquid out of the mountain forest..
$300 a quart for liquor aged 3 years? 12 year old single malt scotch is way cheaper and it’s considered expensive. Who’s paying that much for moonshine?
Should a used an appliance dolly. Wider, straps, and has roller, or roller on the back for stairs. Taking it from the truck. Wheels are to small on dirt or gravel though, unless it’s packed as hard as concrete.
Man all these guys need to do is toss all the money they want into the bank and when the IRS comes looking just tell em BITCOIN and move along with your day
What are you going to arrest people for? Sitting out in the woods and telling war stories while they stick grain and yeast into pots and distill a clear liquid out of that mix. Seems like all we saw was something which could have been water. All this show gives police is an idea of who they can look at, but you’d still have to find their sites in the middle of nowhere.
Can someone explain the law behind moonshining? Im sure it is illegal to sell any liquor without a license and produce it without a license of sorts as well however is moonshining completely illegal still? If so, why? Why is moonshine illegal (if it is) to produce and sell while other hard liquors are legal?
I'm way confused here. According to the figures cited in this video, after it's done aging it will be around $1400 a gallon. That's like maybe 14 times as expensive as Jack Daniels...what is it they do that makes it so much more valuable?
Same thing as Jack Daniels, folks buying it because of the name/maker. Depending on how these 2 fellas reputations go moving forward, those numbers could be facts.
I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE TO HAVE MARK & DIGGER FOR TEACHERS. TRY PASS ON A THING OR TWO! THEIR WAY OF CARRYING THEMSELVES CAUGHT MY ATTENTION. A COUPLE OF LEGENDS AFTER POPCORN
Whoever says this is “fake” is only correct in the sense that they may have had to jump through some legal loopholes to get the show produced. Case and point, many people say the principle stars are licensed distillers, but given their facilities and crude methodology, I HIGHLY suspect they did not “start out” as anything short of completely illegitimate/illegal. It’s also important to take into context the extreme backwoods areas this is taking place in, in many of these counties the laws vary, and the local sheriff’s & their deputies often have a positive relationship with the community and probably “look the other way” in exchange for a little white lightning of their own...
My folks made shine,to even talk about it in public would get your face on a milk carton.aint never seen one would make a show about it.we all laugh at this nonsense.
Howard Rader fuck up you hillbilly shithead. These guys are interesting professionals. Your folks were probably inbred degenerates. Actually not probably, definitely.
Let’s be real here fellas, you ain’t getting no $300 - $400 a *quart* for a damn thing. Try aging 12 years for a level 1. I’ve heard tell of 50 year old spirits available on the open market. Y’all will make $100 a gut rottin’ gallon. This is all sugar wash fellers, I got a slimy bath tub and 25lbs. of Great Value sugar. Booyah! I *could* add raisins, but those damn things rehydrate and turn into acid balls in no time, I’m gonna add some tomaturr paste,
Who's paying 400 a quart for aged shine? I get it's hard to get REAL aged shine but 400 a quart? Really? I wanna call bullshit but tbh I wouldnt be surprised.
