I love how everyone is making this about Mark Driscoll and not that there was a pagan male stripper on stage or that the hosting pastor pulled the "don't attack God's annointed" line that most charlatans use
It was the Mark Driscoll pulling off stage that got the news cycle going. It doesn't diminish the false teacher that runs the show. It just focuses on one aspect of the sheer idiocy of it all. I mean, the "pastor" putting this on has his wife as a "co-pastor". That's enough to know neither of these false teachers have read the Bible.... and they clearly don't know the Gospel. Once the kerfuffle with the disgraced Driscoll dies down (and he gets his 14 minutes)... we should really talk about the conference, but not give it oxygen... refute it Biblically.
For the Record: just like the use of the word "Trinity" doesn't originate in the Bible, neither will Marks attempt to describe what happened in Revelation 2:20 and give it a description. He doesn't know the demons behind her power (she was a baal worshiper and witchcraft practitioner) so he describes it by the woman who epitomizes the spirit and that is later referenced in the letter to Thyatira in Revelation 2.....

Driscoll wouldn't know sound doctrine if it hit him in the head. He is a narcissistic and disgraced pastor who meets NO Biblical requirements to be a pastor, or elder of Christ's church.

I am disappointed that you did not focus on the inappropriateness of this performance. You made Mark Driscoll the bad guy and I don’t think he was. I always like your videos and comments but not this one.

@@ShelinaCostlow there were tons of other shirtless and carnal/ worldly acts and there had been for years while he was participating. He never said anything before and then suddenly when his new book is being released he gains a conscience. It just seems a little coincidental. Only God knows his true intentions but I don’t personally trust the guy since he is a proven liar and got fired from his past church for integrity and other issues. He’s very suspect.

Alan, I am a subscriber of your channel and always stand with what you say...except for now. In my view the whole thing is a disgrace. And I am saddened that you seem to try to walk a fine line. I am certainly no fan of Driscoll but for this guy Lindell to have this kind of display at a supposed Christian men's conference is ridiculous. I just wish there had been a mass exodus walking out. This whole thing deeply saddened me including your soft response on who the real problem is Pastor Lindell!
Allen, appreciate your channel and understand your points. I realize Marc may have used this occasion to gain attention, that many in the church consider Marc unqualified, but I will not fault him, rather applaud him for calling out perversion, especially as it is so prolific throughout far too many churches today. I think of Church of the Glades in Florida and so so many more who continue to make a mockery of God. So Marc's tactics may have been unsound or disingenuous, but calling out filth in a church service is absolutely right. We can argue all day whether he should've been onstage or not, but let me ask you, if you had been onstage, would you have called this erotic display out, or rebuked it behind closed doors?
Why would anyone in Christ go there? You think calling it out was a decent thing, but do you think the same of satan because he believes God. He even appears as an angel of light. Jesus would shut the mouths of the demons. He didn't want their testimony. I wouldn't want Driscoll's!!! 😑
This whole debacle is a blight on the Church at large (not that the true Church has spot or wrinkle). 1. Driscoll had the right to speak out about the event he had just seen, but... a. He has disqualified himself from being an elder, so he shouldn't have been there in a pastoral/teaching role in the first place. b. He has demonstrated a pattern of lying, manipulation, deceit, and other shenanigans to gain notoriety, so what happened at this event may have been just another Driscoll stunt. 2. Matthew 18 does not apply in these situations. Matthew 18 is about when a fellow believer sins against you, personally, and how you need to go about reconciliation. a. Lindell was wrong to point to Matthew 18 as a prerequisite. b. Lindell was wrong to appeal to "touch not God's anointed." I mean, what if Driscoll was the anointed one in this instance? Wouldn't Lindell be the one touching God's anointed? See how convoluted this gets when we don't keep verses in context? 3. Alex Magala supposedly has been a Christian for 10 years, yet he has no evidence of change re: his performances as a stripper in gay clubs (and, as recent as 3 months ago, posted a music video with him practicing Buddhist meditation and praying/bowing down to Buddhist statues). a. Lindell was wrong to bring Magala in. b. Driscoll was right to call out the debauched performance. 4. Many sword swallowers are not shirtless; a few are shirtless. There is no requisite within the profession to go shirtless; it is not expected. a. Magala need not have gone shirtless at this "christian" event. No one would have cared if he had remained fully dressed. b. Comparing sword swallowing to boxing is apples to oranges. Everyone expects boxers to be shirtless; most people have no expectation that sword swallowers be shirtless. c. Because of his work in gay strip clubs, the shirt removal (in my opinion) was a nod to that part of his life. Bottom line, Lindell was wrong to invite Magala and dismiss Driscoll, Driscoll is not a hero, Magala (as well as Lindell and Driscoll) needs to repent and trust in Christ alone, and the entire seeker-sensitive paradigm needs to be demolished.
Your explanation is sound and helpful . Driscoll is not a Pastor and should not be referred to as such. A Pastor must be beyond reproach and Driscoll has previously demonstrated serious misconduct and error.I believe a guest speaker in a church must be screened before appearing. Which Church do they go to and who are they accountable to ?
I normally agree with your assessment but I think you got this one wrong because of your bias against this speaker. Jesus did warn us in Revelations about sexual immorality being tolerated in the church. And it’s been my observation that this is happening.
Publicity stunt or not, he called it for what it was. What was the purpose of such a display at a conference such as this? I stand with him and his observation.

I am glad that God is glorified in his rebuke of what happened on stage. It has no place in the gathering of saints. Give it whatever name you willl, the act is one of rebellion and he called it out. That performance was WRONG. I was told that I had the spirit of Jezebel. At the time, I was offended, but as my relationship with God grew and deepened, I understood what she meant. I was using my sexuality to garner attention, unintentionally. This performance was very inappropriate for a church event.
Driscoll once said any child being raised not by biological parents is not being raised right. I'm embellishing a little but the summary is clear. I responded to his ministry through email as one offended greatly by his words. I told him I married a woman who had three children from a former marriage where the man committed sexual adultery with another woman and chose to abandon the care of his wife and children. She divorced him. I do not agree with divorce except for this reason. I met this woman and I took over the care for her and her children. Anyways, the response from Driscoll's team was one of even greater offense and downplayed the legitimate bonding of parents with children not originally their own but who take them as their own. They made the lives of my children of little value because they were not biologically my own.

The Jezebel spirit is a thing also... the Jezebel spirit is paganism in all its forms, including the woman who rides the beast and other references. Driscoll is correct. Please read your Bible. It is most certainly in the Bible. And Jezebel Spirits are a fictitious invention of Mark the Grifter Driscoll. If he aped them from another false teacher, he's using them as a source of revenue from people who have itching ears. I recommend James White's book on the Trinity. It shows Biblically (in far more detail than I can in one post) that the trinity is core to the Bible and that unitarianism is a fiction brought about by people who can't grasp the concept. Jesus said "Before Abraham was. I AM." That is just the tip of the Trinity. Spend 5 minutes listening to James White's Biblical refutations of unitarianism. If you continue to believe there is no Trinity after that much Biblical proof, I don't know what to tell you, but to pray.
Then why isn't there other spirits with names of people from the past who done wickedly. There would be a long list of people that also might fall into the category of having such spirit. Even people today compair themselves with the giants named like Daniel, David, and Moses. Why not the spirit of Goliath? Ummm or many others who opposed God!? ⁉️❓️❓️❓️

@PandySearl , I didn't say there were not. Jezebel is a special case ( which is why her example is spelled out in Kings ). For instance, Chad & Lori Daybell are modern Ahab & Jezebel. The Jezebel spirit is common throughout history. Note I nor Driscoll are talking about reincarnation here... we are not saying the literal spirit of the woman Jezebel, we mean a Jezebel-like pagan manifestation of evil (or sin) that is reminiscent of the paganism and wickedness of Jezebel.

Well there you have it folks, a regurgitation of Justin Peter’s critique. At least Mark is speaking out against compromise in the church. Also, just because there isn’t a “jezebel spirit” explicitly mentioned in Scripture, does not mean there wasn’t an evil spirit energizing and inspiring her. The spirit that operated in her life could very well be at work in the same way in our day. This is the deduction Mark makes and is a loose term that describes what that spirit is possibly doing, especially since the immorality and emasculating of masculinity is running rampant (a key feature of the Jezebel/Ahab pair).

When Jesus in Revelation says "I have this against you, that you TOLERATE that woman Jezebel", He obviously meant the real life woman Jezebel and totally not the demonic spirit that powered her. Jesus & apostles wouldn't do well in today's Christian landscape... With all that casting out of devil's and what not. This whole situation is a debacle. This sword-swallowing stuff might be garbage, but someone who hardly knows any better about the scriptures calling them out on the basis of the completely unbiblical spirit of Jezebel is just as bad. When did church stop simply being church?
Everywhere in the Bible depicts particular spirit activity by name. This is in reference to a specific ‘spirit’, which identifies the character, drive and personality of the fallen attack. Read the Bible in its entirety. You’ll see the truth.
This is so sad that this was happening at a men's conference. Just shows how the enemy is trying to lead the men astray. If he wins the men he won the family. Deception is rampant and I guess on this channel as well. Maybe Mark repented of his sin's(he that have no sin, let him throw the first stone)...at least he had the decency to cry out in prayer the whole night for the men at the conference...I don't hear John had done that. Mark Driscoll has a troubled past, but not beyond the redemptive power of Christ. Christ restored Peter to ministry after his open denial of the Lord--no small thing. It is my view that Driscoll is one of a handful of pastors courageous enough to confront Feminism and its emasculation of Evangelicalism and sound doctrine. For instance, Christianity is inherently (or ontologically) Patriarchal. And, yes, its "sound doctrine" includes household behavioral instructions to men (husbands/fathers) and women (wives/mothers) that are salvific in nature (1Timoty 2:15 and 1Timorhy 5:8). Doctrine that saves is not merely about the Incarnation. It is also about behavior that accords with the truths of Christ (1Timothy 1:10).
How did Driscoll not know what he signed up for???? Kinda silly to not know who he's sharing the platform with... Looks to me like he just enjoys the attention and controversy that his callout generated, How about not speaking at the event and telling the leadership why???
Hello. I live in Christchurch NZ. I have known God , and Jesus my whole life. But I haven't always walked with him. In 1999, 2000, I was seeing a little old man, a real Christian Man, for prayer and deliverance. He saw me over a few weeks And each time I went, he prayed off things that HD attached themselves to me thru life. Jezebel being one The night before my last prayer session...I was woken to something ...I couldn't see. And it was holding my throat and trying to suffocat me. I could barely speak, when I called an elder fromm church. I managed to say...help. and she began to pray. The next day I received prayer and that thing left and never came back. If none of this is true...then what tried to stop my breathing...why was it so intent on killing me and why did JESUS CAST OUT DEVILS.. if we can't today.
Beliefs can effect your body's nerves, but you probably want to believe this instead of really wanting to understand that your body's nervous system is connected to your brain and thoughts can cause that and other responses in thebody. You'd be surprised how your body functions can effect you. 😑

"Revelation 2:20 20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols" Public rebuking is necesary. I wouldn't go anywhere within a hundred miles of a "Men's Conference" to begin with. Evangelicaldom is self-importantly conference-drunk on the illusion that all its conferences are like the assembly of God's court or something, like they're really tearing down strongholds and taking the world for Jesus by obsessively holding conferences to keep talking at each other. Christian conference are one big mass selfie. Like Jesus said "Go ye into all the world and hold conferences." It's perfectly predictable that the conference craze, in tandem with the general sensation and ecstatic mantric trance craze in modern evangelicaldom, what they obtusely call "worship," would only keep ratcheting up in more and more frenetically exhibitionist ways. It's like 2+2=4, an absolutely predictable psychoemotional trajectory. Has nothing to do with "the Spirit," it's all about human urges and mass mania.
Or people like you don't read them in their entirety, in context. Line upon line, precept upon precept. You don't study to show yourself approved. Who was Jesus talking about when He said in Revelation: "I have this against you, that you TOLERATE that woman Jezebel"? Jesus must of misunderstood, she's been long dead, people only have their own spirits? God didn't send an evil spirit to torment Saul so he would be soothed by David's lyre? Jesus and the apostles didn't cast demons out of people?
I can tell from most of these comments of the people here applauding Driscoll have never been pastors. If you listen to what this Pastor said after Driscoll sat down, he said that he had chatted with Driscoll backstage and he never even once mentioned the performance by the male entertainer to him at all or expressed any issue with it. The correct and honouring thing to do was for Mark to speak to the Pastor about it privately and then not go ahead with his speaking engagement. Instead the way he has approached this is totally egotistical and grand standing. And guess what? It worked. Because everyone is talking about it. I am not saying the performance prior to Mark speaking was right at all, but his decision to bring the rebuke from the pulpit instead of directly to the leadership of this conference is completely unscriptural about how to approach a brother in Christ about sin and wrong doing in the church. Two wrongs don't make a right.
