Spectacular! It's clear that much smaller yet mentally stronger Hall was leading his beefy opponent all the time, and proved it decisively in the last 9 seconds - at will.
@@dillonmackay683 I'd agree with this over Martin/Nickal. At the time when Martin beat Nickal there were many people thinking it would turn into a rivalry as opposed to a major upset. Then Nickal ran rough shot through everyone including Martin. So I'd say the magnitude of the upset is in hindsight.
Great feature in Amateur Wrestling News August 2020 issue about this bout and others at 174 lbs. in Greatest Title Bouts of 21st Century. Also covers 2015 Brown/Wilps, 2016 Martin/Nickal, 2018 and 2019 Valencia/Hall.
Mark Hall always wrestled at a higher weight to help the team out so it was great to see him with his hand raised. He’s a very strong and smart wrestler.
That would have completely changed the tempo of the match. You can’t say whether it would have still been 5-4 or if both guys would have started letting it fly and combine for 20 points
@@jomama969 Hall never lost to Meathead for the rest of his career at Penn State. Jorden just lacks strength and stamina against Hall. Valencia pinned his weak ass, unfortunately he just did not get the call. No, it would have made no difference if OSU got this call. Hall is just better.
Bruhh literally 149-184 was legendary for pennstate. They would win duals just from them because they were unbeatable. Odds of a team taking down their fab 5 gotta be 1 in a million
@Ian Patton mark hall stopped wrestling and kept backing up with 2 mins remaining. There should have been at least another warning and a 1 pt deduction for stalling. That’s why it’s stall for a title.
@@robn3732 You obviously have no clue about wrestling. Hall took Bo down twice. And after Meathead never beat Hall Again. Valencia stuck him in a dual but did not get the call. No, the only “stalling” was meathead. There comes a time when you must realize OSU wrestlers are not as strong as Penn State wrestlers. They just look small compared to Lion wrestlers. From Nato, to the Jorden’s, Martin, Pletcher, just get manhandled by Penn state wrestlers. The biggest choke of all time in wrestling was OSU in 18. To get stuck like Martin did was……..well I think you get the message.
