I’ll tell you this! If you’re walking down a dark alley, you do not want Mark Henry stepping to you :-) super strong guy, very intimidating. I rank him above rock, Lesnar, in athleticism.
@@TequilaToothpick only in the indy scene though, especially back in the day that the Indy scene wasn't as praised/known as it is nowadays in the internet
@@TequilaToothpickno not everyone knew that, not everyone watches Indy / small company wrestling there's a reason some promotions do shit in schools and others do stadium shows tf are you even saying 😂
@@TequilaToothpick That's true, but you still gotta give the man props because without him we might have not gotten such an insane Daniel Bryan run in WWE
Yeah I've gotta admit these days now I'm a bit older I intake all sorts of wrestling but at that age and time as a teen, just WWE and TNA, I'd never heard of Bryan pre NXT Season One
I mean, he HAD to. 😂 Vince McMahon was a size queen; he was obsessed with big guys. If you weren’t 6 feet tall and 200 pounds and NOT named Rey Mysterio, you were not going to get a call from WWE. That was just how it was. But Mark gave Bryan a sliver of hope and Bryan’s talent did the rest.
This adds a whole new meaning to Mark Henry raising Bryan's hand during that segment in Seattle where the crowd is going nuts while Triple H is trying to cut a promo
One of the greatest unscripted WWE moments ever, literally like top 3 if there’s even a top 3 unscripted moments. It was insanely perfect how it all played out, and hearing all this just adds a cherry on top
@@Meldrick-jv7sy Unfortunately it's true, most people will not help a complete stranger out of the kindness of their heart, let alone see a stranger's potential and give them a shot to become great. Hell, most people won't even hold the door open for someone walking right behind nowadays. That selfless type of person has become rare in this day and age.
Not really much of a secret honestly. Dude could easily have made a HOF career in strongman competitions or powerlifting. He's been that dude for a long ass time.
@@royalobasi1938 Yes is a word that is said over 1.2 million times in 2 hours lol and it was his gimmick when he was in WWE, of course it would carry on
Dude was not as good, he was given the number one spot... he didn't really have to work for it.. when I watched dude, I can tell I was watching pre made fight
Get this man his own promotion please!!! Whoever works with him please make this happen!!! He can go toe to toe with any of the big 3 right now! AEW, WWE, and TNA
Lets be honest Mark brought a lot of people through the door, this man does not get enough credit even some of the divas now came through the recommendation of mark bianca is one
@@mapwatcher8630 Nope. Bryan first joined WWE in 2000, 3 years before he joined ROH. Even developed the American Dragon while he was there. Mark will have seen him while he was at Shawn Michaels' wrestling school in Texas (where Mark's from). Super, super early. He'd only been wrestling for a year when he signed his first contract: I'm assuming this is what Mark's talking about, if they didn't even know his height at the time.
Mark Henry is one of the most underrated EVER with just recruiting alone! SMH Sad how he's not a top recruiter &/or agent, if he retired from the ring. Such a gem to ANY wrestling promotion!
Now that's a real one for you he already has a guaranteed roster spot but because he seen and liked the way you wrestled he lies on your behalf so you can get your foot in the door even risking what he had going on to do so best representation of a real stand up guy if I ever seen one 💪🏾👌🏾💯💯💯
Thank you Mark Henry. Daniel Bryan was the underdog that everyone needed, especially WWE. He had one of my favorite matches ever with The Fiend and the old school strap. RIP BRAY
Daniel Bryan caught my eye so quickly when Ist saw him too. He can really do everything. That’s so awesome mark Henry got him his big push or break. Makes me like Henry even more.
I still remember that Monday Night Raw when all WWE/World Heavyweight champions were in the ring for Cena and Randy’s big match, and the crowd were all chanting for Daniel Bryan. Even when it wasn’t even about him. And Mark raised Daniel’s hand for the crowd. Great moment.
I love that Mark is still humble in telling this story and doesn't inflate or exaggerate his role. He didn't say he discovered, coached or made Daniel Bryan into what he became; he saw a guy with amazing talent, helped get his foot in the door, and Bryan did the rest.
This explains that enormous pop Henry got as the guy that rose Bryan’s hand during the championship unification ceremony when no one cared about Cena or Orton fighting for the 34567th for the 2nd undisputed WWE championship.
Can we respectfully say Mark Henry has one of the GREATEST eyes for talent. From in ring talent to announcers you name it. This man deserves his flowers
Mark Henry and Maven Huffman are two wrestlers who I appreciate much more since they left the ring and we had gotten to see more of the human side of them. They both seem to be genuinely good men of integrity.
Chris, you have an amazing talent for highlighting and bringing out people’s strengths in an interview. It’s amazing to see in contrast to some of the negativity on the net. You truly are great at what you do.
How long till Hogan tells this story and inject himself into it. Probably saying “Mark was like naw man he ain’t got it. But I knew the kid had it, I was the only one to see it” 😂
The WWE really need to prioritise making a cruiserweight world title. They are gonna lose so many talented performers because they don't know what to do with the likes of Ricochet, Finn Balor and JD McDonnagh. There are so many smaller wrestlers that become journey men because WWE doesn't know what to do with them.
The more I see Mark Henry doing interviews and talking about how he got people into wrestling just give me a more insight on how humbling and genuine this man is. I'm gaining a lot more respect for this man because he don't gotta go out his way to help others, but he still is
