I don't know how Heaven sounds like but this song is really near to that, specialy that magic flute that it's playing. Living legend Mark Knopfler and his band. So thankful for your outstanding music.
What an utterly brilliant song, crafted by the finest musicians on this planet today. Mesmerising and seductive, with quality and thought thrown in for free! Mark and his talented band of musicians, some BBC award winners included, never fail to disappoint and are simply the very best you can get, worldwide!! A genius at work and a legend in the making.
A hallmark of Mark & Co's performances is the blend of different instruments round his voice and guitar to produce a sound that is often subtle and gentle, but has a real intensity and depth. So it is with this song, with first the mandolin and then the pan pipe both adding piquancy and emotion to the song, with the sound of the percussion, double bass and organ providing a solid platform in the background for them to work on. This is the kind of song you can listen to again and again, picking out and enjoying the sound each instrument contributes to an achingly brilliant performance.
I'm better with my muscles Than I am with my mouth I'll work the fairgrounds in the summer Or go pick fruit down south And when I feel them chilly winds Where the weather goes I'll follow Pack up my travelling things Go with the swallows And I might get lucky now and then - you win some I might get lucky now and then - you win some I wake up every morning Keep an eye on what I spent Got to think about eating Got to think about paying the rent I always think it's funny Gets me every time The one about happiness and money Tell it to the bread line But you might get lucky now and then - you win some You might get lucky now and then - yeah, you win some Now I'm rambling through this meadow Happy as a man can be Think I'll just lay me down Under this old tree On and on we go Through this old world a' shuffling If you've got a truffle dog You can go truffling And you might get lucky now and then - you win some You might get lucky now and then - yeah, you win some
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a class act. Doesn't matter what year it is, I'll be listening to MK so long as I have a pulse. Thank you for sharing your passion and your talent with all of us, Mark. 2019 marked me finally seeing you live with my father, a dream come true. Wishing you good health and happiness in 2020.
Such a beautiful understated song and a window into the life of an everyday person who likes to go roaming and to see where life takes them. Nobody quite tells a story through the medium of songs in the way Mark Knopfler does and as a guitarist I rate him as highly as I do both Jeff Beck and David Gilmour.
Apart from Mike Knopfler's excellent performance; great job on the mandolin(?), bass, and the low whistle too! :-) Really an excellent musician! Edit: Just found out: It's John McCusker! His performance on the low whistle really brings tears to my eyes - it's so beautiful!
I'm a looser myself never been lucky in love but hey ..that's another story... good to see you sitting down and your knee bouncing as if you had a baby on it. Certainly got rythm running through your body.
ALWAYS worth listening to some from Mark Knopfler music. Sadly I was late in hearing about the upcoming tour this fall & it's sold out! Was planning to drive the 1350 km one way to see the nearest show (in Washington State), but no tickets left.
Une autre tune fantastique Mark Knopfler. Tu devrais songer à une carrière internationale, tu as du talent!!!! :-) Merci encore pour ta musique de ton fan no.1 du Québec.
