The word "Greatest" doesn't come close to describe Mark Knopfler and what he can do with a Guitar. A Composer, A Genius, his Music has played so positive a part in the Lives of So Many
It's true, Magickal is the only word for it..and possibly mysterical, majestical even - he's plugged into something else, beyond the warehouse's full of pedals and amps...and humanity is lifted, unexplainably, for a time

I was in Italy when this song came out, all my cousins and friends couldn't get enough of it. Italians adore musicians like this, just like their spaghetti western type music. When you can pack in 90000 in stadio Olympico at this stage in your career you know your doing something right.
His fingers probably don’t work as good as they did in the Alchemy days….but he’s always stellar. He’ll be one of the greatest guitarists when he’s 100, and I only hope he sees 100, at least.
I did hear him say that at one time he commented to his wife that he liked to change up things and she told him that his music played a certain way was a part of people’s lives, the way they want to remember. It made sense to me……
