Mark is my latest addition to my guitar heroes list. He's so good, and so versatile, so it's been a treat to listen to the music that he plays. It's nice to see him here.
Dude the names on Mark’s new album...Steve Lukather, Nate Smith, Shaun Martin, Jacob Collier...just incredible, and every song grooves harder than the next one.
If you don't know Mark, check out the Fearless Flyers, and then his two Baritone Sessions albums. Killer guitar playing, great stuff. Mark Lettieri seems like such a nice guy. I love his interviews (and his work.)
Well done Tyler, you passed the 'How To Be A Great Interviewer' test. You listened and you didn't interrupt your guest. 👍 So many others try to make the interview about themselves and butt in at every opportunity, and that's so annoying. That was very good, I enjoyed it.
Conspiracy theory here... haven't listened to the full interview, but his "current favorite amp, he's not allowed to tell us about," is a prototype PRS MT100 that Mark T. & Paul, for some inexplicable reason, want kept on the extreme down-low, for which there are virtually no new details since 2019 lol.... Just a guess ;p
Love this look into to a specialized type of guitar performance that is enlightening to me as a guitarist since Mark gives useful insights into creating parts and arrangements that fit into the overall music and he's so skilled at playing melodically with passion and intriguing rhythms that give such a rush to the senses or stirs one's emotions in varying ways. Amazing.
@@SolarWarden88 99% chance it'd be Bucket. Brian is a very, very private person, it seems. I'm sure he'd talk seriously about playing but it'd be in full Buckethead gear. The only other thing I could see is if they just did a recorded phone call and Tyler used a still photo for B.
@@JC-11111 yeah for sure, can always hope though haha. I'd be curious to know how Tyler would conduct the interview if Buck was in full-on Bucket-mode persona lol.
@@mason3872 Bucket is way more private than Steve or Tony or pretty much anyone else. It's wayyyy less likely, IMO. And 99% chance it'd be Buckethead and not Brian. So there's no telling how serious the interview would be. Bucket doesn't do many interviews.
I have to agree with the too loud sentiment. I've played with others thinking they need to turn down only to realize I'm already overbearingly too loud. lol
12:16 - CC spelled it “Phil Keegee”, did he mean “Phil Keaggy”? He’s one of my favorite guitar players ever! In my opinion, he is someone you could label a virtuoso, and he doesn’t even have all his fingers!
When I first started playing guitar in a band I used to always feel I'm too loud so I would turn down the volume knob so that no one hears my mistakes or the string noises that comes from the instrument
Type of Wood used for Guitar Bodies :::: I would say just as a reed and different wind instruments have different sounds such as a bamboo flute in china, surely the type of wood makes a difference, and it just is about which one talks to your creativity if your talent can work something out of what you are playing.
Hey Tyler. Cool podcast. Here's an idea for improvement: Maybe you can share images with the guest in real time? For example, Mark had no idea who Dr Doom was, it would be cool to see his reaction if you had shown him some images. Zoom, skype, face time, they all have features that allow this ;-)
Dude. If you want to talk more about Baritone guitars get "The Bunn" on for an interview. He's the MVP of the Baritone guitar world and his playing style is very different to what you would usually feature.
Hold the phone - did you just say Ft Worth? No really...that's my backyard and if you're playing around, man, I sure would like to come out to wherever... Please ...
@@MusicisWin oh my God. You replied to a viewer. Is this the first time in 2021? Seems like it 🙄👎 I've gone through 10+ vids and out of 20k comments, you replied to ONE. One comment in twenty vids and that, was to say 'nice'. Seriously dude. Wtf. You always say "post this & that in the comments" and then you NEVER interact with us once we do. All you want is comments for the algorithm. You couldn't care less what we write. That much is obvious. Or you'd actually talk back to us instead of this garbage you pull.
