Sheffield's showbiz legend, John Shuttleworth and his Yamaha organ join Mark Radcliffe in the studio. "Frenetic" music & chat ensue... From the Graveyard Shift, BBC Radio 1, 1995
You see this was back when BBC was into taking huge risks that paid off by keeping it fresh. They would never have people like Mark Radcliffe on there today.
John and Mark on great form for this one, witty lines rolling off both of them... you'd think it was scripted. "Jasper! It's a wasp! Where have you been? Punch the air! Ooooommmppphhhhh!
alvaskins Yeah, no fallings out. I think when they left Radio 1 it was more of a, "been there, done that..." kind of thing. Both continue to have successful careers. Lard, especially, was very much "the fool", and Riley's since moved on to be a "serious" DJ in his own right. I can see why he wouldn't be fussed about reviving Mark 'n' Lard dynamic.
Has Kermode's voice dropped an octave since back then? A semi quaver maybe? Half a wotsit? You may be unaware of my knowledge of maize, based, snacks. *Not to be confused with "maze, based, snacks". That original idea I had failed with the first storm of the season, sadly.
Heh Burp - answer me a popular pub quiz question mate! Did you ever roger Sally Field? And if not, why not? She was hot stuff. Da da daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Captain Chaos here! Been a cop long?
