This is one of the few wartime songs recorded by the great Mark Reizen.
Mark Osipovich Reizen 1895-1992. The leading bass of the Bolshoi Opera was as good in song as in the big opera roles.
His beautiful bass voice was aptly compared by Conrad L. Osborne as "Blue Velvet over an Iron Core" (Russians in Amber - Opera News)
