This is an unbiased look at three of the biggest sports card data tools around today. This is from the perspective of someone who is basically shopping around, considering the possibility of maybe possibly someday eventually perhaps paying for one of these. Market movers vs Card Ladder vs Card Hedge!
Not that I'm recommending it over the others, but it you do decide to use Card Hedge, if you use my affiliate link, I'll get a small commission: www.cardhedger.com?via=scoa

Hey there T-Pott here from Market Movers. Thanks for the breakdown! I wanted to clarify a few things: 1.) Price Movements is a specific feature that reports the data in a table format sortable across our now over 1 million cards in the database. Our price charts go back much further and are totally accessible to the Premium level. 2.) The Premium Level actually has access that suits most collector’s needs. 3.) Intelligence reports is a tool that enables calculating ratios on comparisons of two grades to one another (like psa 10 to 9) or two variations or two players (like Ja to Zion). This can be super useful when comping rare cards, or looking for arbitrage opportunities. 4.) Did i mention over a million cards now in our database? 😃 5.) We just rolled out a brand new version of MM with an overhauled UI/UX - I think you would love it. 6.) More enhancements coming soon and being rolled out all the time! 7.) We help protect against shill bidding by filtering out 0 buyer feedback sales by default (but you can see it in advanced filters). 8.) We strive for 95-99% data accuracy with respect to card matching to results and verification of potential bogus outliers. We are also running specials regularly with additional discounts. Follow our social accounts for those 😃 Finally, totally unrelated and sincere- i enjoy your content. Thats how i found this video scrolling through your list of videos! 🤜🏻 🤛🏻

Appreciate the clarifications T-Pott! It made several things that were blurry for me more clear. One suggestion from a random RU-vidr (me) for you guys: If it was possible to up the number of cards in the personal collection that the Premium account tracks, I think that would make Premium a better possible option for many. Tracking 50 cards, if you're looking to really make good decisions with what you already have and to be able to keep track within the app of how much you're making on card you sell too (which is helpful from a 'business' kind of tracking angle, keeping track of my own personal purchasing and selling price data), is pretty limited. I ultimately decided to go with Card Hedge recently, and this feature they had was a big part of what ended up tipping the scales for me. Glad to hear that you're enjoying my videos! Feel free to share your thoughts on any of them any time. I love sports card conversations!

You guys should be honest and show how much money yu have made using Market movers and how much you lost using market movers. Mr. Wilson should give us his last 365 day breakdown. Lead by example and prove your ap works for profit. If it doesnt then it should be much much cheaper. I mean I made a killing during the boom and Im scooping all the low prices without using any paid ap. I see people using paid apps losing their butts off.

Thanks for the great analysis. Market Movers has improved the low-end option since the video and now provides more than 30 days of sales history which seems like a huge improvement and now makes it worth trying out. I'm going to give it a try.

Let me know your thoughts. I have heard market movers has made a number of changes since this video, so it may be time to do an update on the video here at some point
@DoubleDvintagebaseballcards
Came around to watching this and loved it. I tried card ladder just recently but I just hit to many problems loading up my PC and a few other issues. Maybe another few years let these guys get more info on there sites 🤷‍♂️. I love my own spreadsheets and i have done fine for 30 years so guess i will keep plugging away with my own system 😉🤙🏻🤙🏻

Option 3 for me too. Possibly option 4, has to be some tech-head who can turn all that free data floating about into a better product... One possible angle I was surprised to not hear you mention was using COMC to gauge past sales activity and pricing too.
@scoa
@scoa Год назад
It's a bit tough to use COMC for that. You need an ongoing supply of "history points" to get a lot of that previous sales data, which I actually don't have very often. I can see how many have sold in the past quarter, but I can't see for what prices. Plus, even if you do get access to those history points, it just gives you like chunks of quarterly data, not like linear data to see trajectory or movement or anything. I do wish the data tracking available on COMC was better.
@dwayneskinner7315
@dwayneskinner7315 Год назад
@@scoa I suspect the ability to just track the sales data there would be huge (there's a free business idea for someone)! I don't sell much on COMC but thought they had enough to offer a fairly sensible SRP? Even seeing what other cards are available in a blockchain sort of analogy woudl have its benefits. Get a bit of insight into the supply side at the very least for a certain chunk of the market they tend to deal in.

Card Hedge is up to 180K+ so a significant increase in 15 days since this was posted. Have to say that the CH team is super reactive and provides great customer service! While I prefer Card Hedge, remember it is up to each person to make their own decisions. This was a good review of the services. Thanks!

I've been talking to JD a little since I made this. They've been updating 10k new cards per week into the system over the summer. And now plan on getting into a solid 10k per month as a regular pace.

Card Hedge also announced that their database has reached 1 million cards tracked across most sports and TCGs, with new products and sets being added daily. Facebook, IG, X, and TikTok are also active with sports and trading card trends, news, and updates.

It seems like card ladder and market movers only goes as back as 130point does. Is there a paid service to check ebay sales older than 3 months? I'm trying to track a 1/1 card that was sold about 4 months ago. Thanks
@scoa
@scoa 7 месяцев назад
I actually am not so sure. I honestly haven't been paying much attention to these platforms after I did the research and made this video. I thought that they all had options to go back further than 3 months though. Just not on any sort of free tier. I think the paid tiers go back further. For free tier stuff, I'm not so sure what's available to be honest.

Do you think it would be better for the hobby if all of these entities joined forces to create one source? And to then use resources to provide better tools such as whether cards were paid for, shilling identifiers, blue chip/index graphs etc. I think more people would engage with data if there was only one industry standard source that was easy to use and offered more analysis and insight tools
@scoa
@scoa 7 месяцев назад
I'm more in the mindset that some healthy competition in the business space might be better. Gives a bit more potential for creative ideas emerging and such. One company standing alone would have no incentive to improve, and could just set a high price that they never have to worry about anyone undercutting.
