Just picked up a 917vs. Did this mod today and what a world of difference!!! Your very thorough and descriptive video made this mod a breeze to do. You should do more vids like this!! You do a job better than most on here.

Spend the money and buy a trigger kit from “M-Carbon”. Don’t take the risk. It’s only about $12.00 and you don’t have to worry about it. Quality product.

Can you post a link? 5 years ago when I did this there where no trigger kits available.

Hi - Part 3 - Hi Lizardsman. Well, today I successfully swapped out the factory trigger spring for a much lighter spring from a very old ball point pen that looked very similar to yours. It seemed to function the same only with a much much lighter trigger pull. Thank you once again for a great informative video from which I was able to perform my own upgrade & I can hardly wait to test it at the range. Very Sincerely Yours. JAMES.

i did this to my marlin 925m .22 mag 2 years ago. I havent had any problems with it and it gave me a very nice trigger pull. i can shoot a 1.5" group @ 75 yrds right now. just free floated the stock tho so it should close up nicely :)

...brace dovetailed into the underpart of barrel. I was going to send it back to the factory but cannot find any info regarding model 925 with this "webbing". So I never got around to sending it in. I did your trigger spring replacement & plan on testing it out at the range when I can get some ammo. Maybe my 925 is newer than yours or was in a different "run" that put that webbing in it. I can't figure it out. MOST 925's I have seen on You Tube have wood stocks.I'll Keep you posted. THX JAMES

Thank you for the video. My 925M feels like a 90 pound pull (an exaggeration of course) which contributes to my large groups. Think I'll have a go at the trigger spring exchange.

Cool tutorial, just a FYI removing the trigger assembly is not necessary although it does make it easier to handle. This way you don't have to worry about forgetting that extra spring.

Hi lizardsman. I have the 925 .22LR bolt action w/ synthetic stock. The trigger started giving me problems by becoming VERY hard to push. I disassembled it to do a COMPLETE cleaning & I remember there was a plastic webbing that appeared to hold "things" in place. Well, I broke that webbing all to hell & removed it. Now I have a cleaned gun but it has trigger problems. I may try your spring replacement to lighten up this trigger. Any questions or advice? Thank You. Sincerely, JAMES.

Could you clerify trigger problem? I have shot mine alot and the spring does help. I'm not familar with any "plastic webbing" but if it just fell onto yor arm nothing should have broke. My daughter actually pushed mine off my dresser and nothing broke. If yous still have a stiff trigger, or it's verry hard to break, put some grease on the small pin on the back of the bolt that catches the seer. Also take the bolt apart and clean and grease it well. Hopefully that will fix the stiff break.

Well I never cleaned anything other than the bore & upper receiver chamber for like 1500 rounds & then the trigger got really hard to pull, (almost impossible). So I went home, totally disassembled it all & that is when I discovered this plastic webbing (for lack of a better way to describe it). When the rifle slipped out of my hands the webbing broke & I just ripped the whole thing off the inside (i.e. trigger group & magazine chamber). Rifle has floating barrel held in by a little metal.....

FYI, this mod may make the bolt come out unintentionally. I did mine years ago, works great, but if a new person tries my rifle they often pull the bolt out of the gun after first round.

Hi - part 2 - I was hoping I could do a fix without having to send it to the factory (5 yr. warranty still in place by 2 yrs.). I have tried to find disassembly videos of this gun on You Tube but have not as of yet found any. I still do not know what that plastic webbing was but I accidentally broke it - it was not in place very strong - & when the gun fell over & landed on my arm that is when that webbing broke. I hope it is not important or a necessary part of the gun. Thank You for your help.

If I remember right I did have to readjust my scope after, but I was still able to maintain the same grouping.

Hi I was just wondering if doing that trigger job affected your poi. When I done it I was shooting about 6 inches left @ 50 yards. Put the original spring back and shot 1/3" group. I found it really unusual because it's not as if the scope and barrel were adjusted at all and the rounds fired fine. Any info would be great. Thanks.. irishpigeonshooters.

Sorry man, computer been down for awhile. The mag reciver is metal. It does have a polymer stock but the mechanicks of the rifle are all metal. I have about 10,000 rounds with less than 100 miss fires or slam fires. My first rifle and I bring it every time I go shooting.

@tradbowyer1975 I'm no gunsmith, just trying a few tricks. At this point I haven't done anything further on the rifle. There's a few other mods I wanna try, like the shim on the second spring and some polishing on the bolt to help with a cleaner break and make the bolts action require a little less effort and make it smoother. Give me a week or two and I'll post the vid and let ya know when it's up. Thanks for watching and provide any feed back after you mod your rifle. I.E. if it shoots better.

Hello again. Don't mean to beat a dead horse but does your Marlin 925 Bolt .22LR have a polymer stock OR a wood stock? I can't seem to make Tech Sights work on my polymer rifle. Thanks for the info. Sincerely, JAMES.
