Thanks for posting this updated video. I found an old Model 99c that had at one time been worked on and the trigger action assembly “c”-clips discarded. When I disassembled it for cleaning, the trigger assembly fell apart. Your video made all the difference in getting it back together.

I love your down home videos. I have a Marlin model 60 I bought new in 1986 that has been a standby with me in the woods for years. It's a tack driver and has the full length magazine tube that goes out to the end of the barrel. I always clean it before squirrel season here in Southern Illinois. It shoots well with CCI mini-mag hp's and velocitor ammunition. Most of my other guns aren't as old as yours, but I love accurate rifles. I can't see owning one that's not. Keep up the good work, I'll be tuning in on every episodes.

Great video sir. Thank you. My wife got me this Marlin 60 back in 1995 I used it with my son I used it with the grandkids shot a lot of rounds out of it then the buffer block disintegrated. I had no clue what had gone wrong with it I did not tear it apart for quite some time. I had put it away and gone on to other things and when I finally did Marlin had gone out of business. I ordered the parts about 5 years ago from somebody who took my money and never sent me the parts and then until just recently I could not find a buffer or recoil spring. Three weeks ago I found both. Thank you for the video I'm taking this to the range tomorrow. I believe it will work fine. Great instructions very detailed. Thank you very much. I watched a couple videos before this and nobody showed how to keep that spring from flying across the room. I wonder what that little hole was for. But I'm a knucklehead Jarhead I got the spring out without a flying across the room but it would have been nice fighter known about the little hole. If I would have thought about it a few more minutes I probably would have figured it out. But your video helped immensely in all areas of the assembly and disassembly of this fine little firearm.

Bought a Model 60 made in 1980 on Gunbroker. I received the gun from FFL , get it home , loaded it up , fired one round and and it eats the next round and it ate several more rounds. Watched your video , yes found broken buffer plus missing buffer clip, recoil spring bent/broken. Cost 35.00 with Numerich hopefully that will fix the problem and run clean. I love your channel and videos. I grew up a mushroom hunter in Ohio still hunt here in the Upper Cumberland of Tennessee. Thank You !

Good video.. I changed the buffers on my both Marlin 60 rifles without any disassembly, just put a zip tie around the action and carefully pull the E-clip of the buffer and space the end a little to pull it out and replace it. Lock it back in and you're done! I used "Numrich Gun Parts" buffer, It's better than the Marlin's.

I recently purchased a used glenfield 60 and took to gunsmith to clean n check n he said that part think buffer was bad n he changed it and shot the rifle week later n shot nice no hiccups. My first real gun my dad got me for Xmas a Winchester model 190 semi automatic.22 and that shoots nice as well take care n thanx for the video.

Mcarbo is an excellent place to find Marlin model 60 spare springs and e clips. I just ordered several new springs and a couple 5 packs of e clips for the model 60.

I have a model 60 from 1988 also it has the long mag tube last shot bolt hold open the recoil block on mine is white hard nylon and looks perfect

Good vid.. Just bought a 99c w/forearm sticker still on. installed a Model 60 Mcarbo spring kit. The internals of a 60 are different then a 99c. Would be really nice to see a comparison vid..

Another great video, Seems the more of your video's I watch the more gun's I accumulate. LOL, I bought a very nice Glenfield Squirrel stock rifle last night. It's a 1974 and looks to never had been shoot condition. Only flaw I see is someone installed sling studs and didn't get then in the center of butt stock. You have said these model 60's are getting harder to find parts for. Can you suggest any good suppliers. Also found it very good information about the decocking. Do you also had a way to de decock a Remington 121. Thanks again for all you time you take to put out this information to the viewers.

If I'm correct, the Micro-grooving was not done for the reason of accuracy or function, but as a measure of saving money on the machining operation. Personally I'd prefer a bore NOT have that Micro-grooving because I want to be able to spit lead cast bullets if necessary for any reason, and that's a little more difficult with Micro-grooving as you have to use a different diameter cast bullet for it..... a less common diameter compared to what you'd use for standard rifling. Also the smaller/increased lands/grooves could potentially be more prone to embedding lead than larger 6 or 5 groove.

haha had to come back and watch this again .....something about taking it apart and letting it soak makes me forget which screws go where and which direction. Mine have obviously been replaced at some point as 2 are hex head instead of the flat ones I see here.

New subscriber here. I really appreciate this video and it will be saved for future reference. Before this video i saw where a young kid, maybe 14 at best make a good and detailed video on how to do this but can't find it any more. I've had many 60's over the years both new and older ones but always liked the old school ones better. Right now I have and older one made in 83 which means no last shot hold open so my question would be would this work on mine?

My marlin m922 magnum was not functioning. The recoil buffer was in fragment pieces. Cleaned it all up and ordered a new recoil buffer. One guy I read used a tire tread cut out to the size to replace a recoil buffer. Wonder how that worked out!!!

I am having light strikes on my model 60, changed the firing pin but didnt fix it, do you know what else could be the problem?

My model 60 doesn't dry fire, the bolt works and the release but it doesn't even dry fire. I changed the buffer on it and that's it could anybody help me?

I had one of those, terrible trigger with an insane complex linkage, incurable. Worst gun I've ever owned.
