I'm honestly so disappointed in Flex, he got a bigger reaction for mumble rapper than he did for this mans who literally just spit fire & kept it real about his mental health. I'm sad bro.
We all listening to these bars nodding our head and vibing and Flex looking for the glitch in the matrix. He so slow Flex didn’t realize he was taking shots at him all through the freestyle...
Marcus Villanueva I was watching the time tick down and I really don’t understand that. Free verse, freestyle, whatever, these were some of the “realest” bars that I’ve ever heard. Meaningful, packed with messages and self reflection. Didn’t even skip a beat. Man I was upset too. Not to get on a tangent but I don’t think flex realized the caliber of his craft (ha) while he was busy playing professor at the beginning. I don’t know marlon craft at all besides this video. You gotta let a kid like this blossom and praise, he doesn’t need it but dude, this deserved a round of applaud at least. I got goosebumps.
cuz he didnt drop any actual bars he just said he only raps with legends and that he is basically one. most punchlines were weak n flow was literally the same
Alex Hernandez There was some serious bars behind that bro.. Better than 90% of what you hear nowadays, been a while since i’ve heard a rapper that’s actually blew me away a bit... Inspired
@@z_mentz614 yea he does, he's just racist. Remember his love fest with Tyler the Creator. That wasn't too long ago. I'm sure you can remember. Either that or he just don't like dude.
I'm only here for the freestyle. Flex is a damn fool. Has one of the biggest platforms in Hip-hop and let it go straight to his head. Smh. If this was on Sway in the Morning, the entire room would be losing their minds! Real recognize real... 🔥🎶
I agree 1000% but I'm just trying to look at it like at least Marlon got the exposure. Flex didn't give him the love he deserved but everybody listening knows how fire that was. Now more people know about Marlon Craft.
@@vvonslaughtvv9705 @VvOnslaughtvV Cassius Clay is the birth name of the legendary boxer Mohammed Ali. Ali changed his name partway through his career. So Marlon Craft is saying he's needed time to work on his "craft" (i.e., his skills and himself as a person) in order to shed his former self and become the legend he knows he can be.
No he didn’t…he wasn’t really saying anything just rhyming…great voice and flow…but it’s just random lines…there’s nothing that grabs you in…he good tho but I’m listening and he’s not saying anything…almost like talking to someone who forces bug words and sayin a whole lot but not getting to the point
@MrSPIDEY21 you don't know what you're talking about go listen to what that man said again everything he said was coherent and consistent and unlike what you're suggesting the content was amazing considering it's a freestyle... He representing his set, he spoke on his mental health, his careers journey, his wisdom and skills as well his weak points every artist should have at least this much creativity bare minimum if you're calling yourself an MC....(never noticed that's his initials till now) not a single rapper you know could hold a candle to a real MC and Marlon is a certified MC
100% agree. First he tries to check him by asking him for all those old rappers names, then the second his epic freestyle is finished immediately asks him about his anxiety which was just one of the thousands of bars he just spit.. so awkward so cringy. Props to craft for keeping it casual.
As time has gone on, I kinda understand the questions before the freestyle. As a white guy in a black space, Marlon can't just be a good rapper. He has to have respect for the history and the culture too. And obviously Craft has huge respect for the culture and history. But after that rap, to not give ANY props was seriously fucked up. At least Sway knows the deal.
@@CharleyCarey What? This has nothing to do with race my guy. He is on his radio show to freestyle. Flex had the same disrespectful attitude towards JID's freestyle, go check it out. He is just a douchebag to people who aren't big names in the rap game yet.
I don’t think Flex likes that a white dude can do this. We’ve heard white rappers with cold bars before, but this guy doesn’t just got cold bars. He voices the soul of the people on a level deeper than I’ve ever heard from any white rapper. Maybe it’s a cultural appropriation thing, but this guy has the soul of hip hop in him. If you love music, that’s gotta connect. I feel like Flex is not really bout the music of it anymore. He’s just more about the promoting thing now.
I'm real hesitant to overstate things when it comes to White rappers because of how they're reflexively overrated, but you told not one lie. Marlon Craft is the truth, and an MC, which I NEVER say lightly.
I should've said too: I don't think Flex is even pro-Black like that. Could be because Marlon isn't a big name or on a major label. Flex been a bird since day one.
Yep. it was the same on the Jack Harlow video. I'd go on a limb and say the say "the old heads and baseball caps need to fall back', then mentioning "having his hat on like flex" was a direct shot. He was disrespectful to both of them.
Shout to Sway and Heather B... they gave him props after his 5 Fingers of Death. Flex just brushed him off and wanted to ask probing questions about anxiety smh lol.
Watch Flex's eyes. He's literally afraid of Craft. "You been turning your paint brush for cashiers checks. That's why on the low you fear when someone reals next."
Wtf, one of the best freestyles ever on his show, “so you said something about anxiety, do you have anxiety” bro I would walked straight up outta there his show didn’t even deserve those bars
I just watched Fred the godson before this one Conway and Benny The butcher you trying to tell me that that dude's better than them three people and that's just what I watched right before this. His energy is real low he needs more energy he's got some bars
@@09robinhood What does energy have to do with rhymes? You're 1 of those" as long as it bounce its dope dudes". Don't comment on real rap homie you know nothing about it. 1🤣
This host is a HATER. Flex can’t take your shine young warrior Marlon. You are a treasure to the culture and your generation. Your place in American conscience is in your future. Throwing them up to ya. You killed it.
It's not a freestyle, those were all writtens. They were good bars but he didn't go off top and he didn't change the flow of his writtens to match the beat
I understand he was amazing...but Put some respect om Flex name...20 years of real rap is indefinable. Marlon was great...until next week and Flexx being incredibly appreciative; knows you cant science real rap its Divine im part...so he asked how do you have the heart for it and ..Marlon answered brilliantly
Flex was a straight punk yo!! At the end, Marlon says " I appreciate you" , Flex barely acknowledges it smh... Just lost mad respect for Flex. I hate to say it, but... If my man's skin was something different Flex woulda been acting a little different 💯. I ain't ever seen his demeanor like that yo!! Flex, GROW UP MAN!! Marlon got bars for days!!!!
Cause he ain't a big name, he did something similar to Mickey Factz, after killing it...... and the fact he white didn't help either. Flex don't appreciate Lyrics enough to run this series. Sway or AB from bars on I 95, would have went crazy over that freestyle
I ain’t gunna lie. I didn’t like him until I seen this. And I had to listen to it a couple times. This is top 10 I have seen on flex. Ever. And I’ve seen them all.
Flex you’re disrespectful as fk. You sat there like nothing was happening. One of the best free’s I’ve heard in a long time and yet not a single reaction...
This young man earned my respect. I'm about to try to teach my son's and grandsons something about life hope you don't mind being the tool. Thanks for being you. Love you young man, granny
That went over your head. Flex was more so showcasing Marlon. He wanted to highlight Marlon's credentials and show the CORE of Hip Hop that he is OF the culture (a student of the game) not some fly by night internet, cornball rapper.
*”..comin’ up like Nasir name backwards, the people JONES-ing for the real” 🔥🔥🔥 (Nas = Nasir Jones. Nasir backwards = Risan/ Risin’.. comin’ up = rising, some ain’t catch that)*
He said "out here tryna front like the APPEAL ain't MASSive." Nas is one of the founders of MASS APPEAL. Then he followed that up with "like a mc ain't coming up, like nasir name backwards, its risan/rising." Then he said "to people jonesing for the real again, its here family" jonesing means to fixate on something and jones is nas last name. A lot of people caught the nasir name backwards bar but they missed the rest.
MARLON DESTROYED THIS BEAT AND BROUGHT THE HEAT, I CAN NOT STOP LISTENING TO EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS SONGS NOW, THIS IS THE REAL HIP HOP AND ENERGY THE WORLD NEEDS.
nmessai215 he did have way harder lines but I think it was clever in the sense he knows the first thing ppl are gonna think and he’s dispelling it from the jump. 💯
😂😂😂Flex sitting there trying to understand how he doing this. How is he flowing and not mentioning bullshit? He couldn’t even give him props on a damn near 10 min flow, smh. He gave Flex mad respect and props and Fat Boy gave him nothing. Fred’s a hater 😂😂😂.
the questioning is a form of disrespect, he questioned his knowledge at the beginning of the freestyle and at the end, he was trying to disrespect him, that's not an interview question, he wanted to have Marlon explain himself
he’s out for this . he spit for 9 min straight and asked about his anxiety. I would like to see him spit for 9 min straight. just straight disrespectful.
This is incredible by Marlon, hes super nervous about the set, shows up spits mega bars and then flex is "very nervous" by his bars throughout. after the set he has the cheek to only mention his anxiety as a mask to get away form the sheer talent as hes embarrassed to praise Marlon, ABSOLUTE disgrace, big up Marlon craft.
It's funny how in the beginning, before he raps, Flex is putting him to the test to see how much he understands the musical side of the culture....yet in his freestyle, he speaks on the deeper issues of inequality that many whites would probably shy away from. And he does it in a genuine, real and accurate way (in my opinion).
And yet, flex didn’t give him an ounce of props. He lost a lot of my respect here, dude made himself look like a clown. After all that heat, all you can talk about is anxiety??
Yeah I mean cmon there was zero anxiety there in him that whole time either. Even after that bullshit test he still threw flames, so Flex had no room to say a damn thing about it at least until he spoke on his freestyle and gave him props. Then to top it off he didn't acknowledge any of that straight up raw truth that Marlon spoke on, not even the positive note on racial inequality coming from the "opposing side". Flex came at this with a fkd up racist mentality and that was a form of hatred coming from someone who should be representing for his race because of his social standing and it just risked making the white American perspective of black Americans even worse or more biased, instead of taking this opportunity to make an example of integrity and his own personal want for equality in representation of the black people, for his fans to see and even possibly follow just because they are his fans and they might have respect in him but instead he flushed it down the toilet and honestly offended both of the opposing sides because we know real when we see it and hear it and nobody can deny that Marlon just showed up and showed out, showed us that he is real. Real recognize real and that's why Flex sounded like he was trying to look like he sleepin on Marlon's rap because Flex isn't real. He's a Disrespectful POS that is stomping on the efforts made recently from both racial stand points and all the progress that we've both made after George Floyd r.i.p. Thank you for reading✊🤙🤟All lives matter equally ✊✌️🤟 That's Love 💖
@@jasonlo8780 you don't get it cause you never experienced what he did. He seen it all, and he hung around all type of people. So he saying everyone values are similar to a certain degree but our system such as the government is unjust."
@@takingitonedayatatime7851 make sense, so he saying the system isn't fair but everyone wants the same thing (success) Ahhh thanks for the explanation!!!!
The freestyle was fire 🔥 🔥🔥🔥 reaction poorest I’ve ever seen this guy spit wisdom with bars and real Ed’s and authenticity is out of this world 🌎 common bro you should do better than that I’m black and African so I would just say I’m hoping it’s not a racial thing because he’s definitely hit the skill talent killed it and to be honest I think this will still be one of your hottest session in decades 💯💯❤️ kudos to everyone involved 🌟💯💨
Because Marlon's flow and delivery was coma inducing. And I think Marlon is DOPE lyrically! 11 minutes was too long for him with that linear, monotone flow.
It might just be context but funk flex is so underwhelmed like he has a chip on his shoulder and I do not understand the reason. Freestyle was dope and funk just like he had a siesta. Slept on fire like a Cub Scout in the wrong pyre 🔥
@@johnathansmith6171 when black thought was on there the energy was different, granted black thought is black thought but marlon is fuckin nice and flex aint even have no reaction
@@JawnWick86 please Never mention the God Black Though and this mortal in the same sentence... after B.T freestyle i spent a eeek watching the history channel and reading the dictionary. .
Flex lost all his talking points as soon as Marlon drops that first line “don’t compare me to them dudes you’re about to compare me to” so he felt he had to go after one thing Marlon was vulnerable about and nearly cut him off after that fire freestyle and be like “you have anxiety? Psh couldn’t be me but how does it make you feel?” Instead of acknowledging his talent. Do better man.
I never heard of this kid until I just heard him doing a Knicks interview in the NY Post podcast, and said let me check out this freestyle.... FIRST OFF, from the interview, I though this Cat had Brown skin, was SHOCKED he was so called, white! IDGAF what tone his skin is, THIS CAT WAS DEEP, ENTERTAINING AND GOOD AF! SHAME ON YOU FLEX, SHAME!
This and black thought are my tops of course he gave black thought respect and some how not this dude he is sleeping hard almost seems he's the kinda guy who think white people shouldn't rap but anyone who structure there rhymes and Flo like this and have a real message is a real artist. Fire
He's got some pretty dope songs dude. He does a whole rap about all the NBA teams. He's real big on NYC rappers and you can tell he studied the game. He may not get the views because they aint club songs, but to those who appreciate art............
Shawn Rios that entire freestyle must have gone completely over your head then cause that was absolutely full of bars. Sorry they weren’t spelled out word for word for you like your favorite “woke” rappers do.
Flex was shook because in this day & age he knew that no other future guest would be able to top Craft’s performance, so it was all downhill from this point
For real though... I can't think of one of these I've seen since that comes close. Obviously this and everything else is 2nd to Thought's but you're right.
Flex's reactions just aint it man. This dude deserves way more credit for what he just laid down and flex sitting there like he aint even wanna be there at all
I feel you- but also, Flex asked about anxiety because he felt anxious. He felt like he was being called out and when he tried to follow each line he realized he was too stupid to keep up. Furthering his anxiety. So he spent the whole cypher wondering if he was the guy who was about to compare Marlon to other white rappers. He spent the whole 10 min wondering if he was being punked.
@@Alex_Justified Imma be honest, ive wathcing this dozens of times since and I dont know if I was right. I mean I think I was in part, but I was just mad cause Marlon looked like he was being disrespected. I almost wonder if there is more too this clip. like could flex have had to get to a commercial or something and then when they came back on he got back into talking about the cypher? idk, i feel bad for calling flex stupid hes clearly not at all and is a legend in his own right.
@@mariosola1 I kinda feel that Flex didn't want to give him credit, thus side stepping the conversation. He was amazed at his performance but I don't think he wanted to give credit for whatever reason.
Was not expecting him to murder it as he did, Flex: “so you say you got bars, do you?” Marlon: “yea” *bars skill level > 9000* Flex: “yeah so how bout that anxiety?” SHOOK!
“ You can keep the attitude and the fear that that you hide you between but when the truth is in the room don’t you dare lie to me” perfect like for how flex was acting
