Join us as my good friend Kynesha and I talk about her childhood of having to feel like she had to stand up for everyone, and how that later affected every type of relationship from that moment. We also discuss what it’s like being married to a narcissist and the healing process!

I think people have this idea that sensitivity is shown only by tears when in reality, sensitivity is shown by anger as well as crying. Like if you pop off when someone says something, people automatically assume that you can fight and that no one should mess with you but that’s just another form of sensitivity if you wanna talk about it. I think everyone is sensitive in a way, we are all like glass: if you throw us, mishandle is in any way we will either crack, brake or withstand. Some of us will either crack but we won’t break, we will fall or be dropped and we’re fine no cracks no breakage or we will be mishandled and just shatter. To add to my comment, I don’t think being reserved is what people think it means. I think it’s different than being closed off, you can yet be open and reserved, people can even confuse it with shyness and it’s really not the same, I know the definition would disagree but I think it should be updated. To me a reserved person very peaceful and comfortable w/who they are, they aren’t worried about anybody else, they’re just focused on what they are doing and they just them and it’s not a thing where they’re mad or wired. Shyness to me is when a a person feels like they are unsure of what other people will do they are very cautious and observant and it can come off as them being scared or uncomfortable. So it’s like being closed off But a quiet person is when you aren’t scared nor are you insecure or unsure of yourself but you observe first, and it’s not like you plan to observe anyone but that’s just you first instinct but it’s not out of fear or discomfort, you’re literally just feeling things and people out . I think people intertwine shyness, quietness with social anxiety, and they are not the same. Info Shyness vs Anxiety Shyness and social anxiety are often used interchangeably, but they have key differences in intensity, impact on life, and whether it's considered a personality trait or a mental health condition. Here's a breakdown: Shyness: Personality trait: Not a condition or disorder. Intensity: Can feel awkward or uncomfortable in social situations, especially with strangers or new situations. Impact on life: Usually doesn't prevent someone from living their life. Physical symptoms: May blush, sweat, or have an upset stomach. Mental symptoms: May worry about how others perceive them. Management: Can be managed and grown out of, especially in children. Social Anxiety (Social Phobia): Mental health condition: Considered a long-term and overwhelming fear of social situations. Intensity: Fear and anxiety are severe enough to disrupt daily life and relationships. Impact on life: Can lead to extreme avoidance of people and social interactions. Physical symptoms: May not be obvious, but can include trembling, sweating, or shortness of breath. Mental symptoms: Fear of judgment, humiliation, or embarrassing themselves, leading to over-analyzing and reliving past social situations. Management: Treatable with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, coping tools, and sometimes medications. Other differences: Presentation: Shy people may show obvious physical symptoms, while some with social anxiety may not. Anxiety duration: Social anxiety often persists before, during, and after a social event, while shyness is more situational. Fear fixation: People with social anxiety are driven by fear and let it make decisions for them, while introverts simply stay true to themselves. Development: Social anxiety can be linked to genetics, childhood experiences, an overactive amygdala, abuse, bullying, or teasing. Shyness can be influenced by genetics and upbringing. While shyness can include elements of social anxiety, the severity and impact on life are the key differentiators. Shyness is a personality trait that can be managed, while social anxiety is a mental health condition that requires treatment. Quietness vs Anxiety Quietness is a personality trait that doesn't necessarily involve discomfort in social situations, while social anxiety is a mental health condition characterized by intense fear and avoidance of social settings due to fear of judgment. Here's a breakdown of the key differences: Quietness: Personality trait: Can be introverted or shy, but not always. Social situations: May or may not experience discomfort. Can enjoy social interaction in smaller doses or with close friends. Emotions: May not experience intense fear or anxiety. Motivation: May prefer quiet activities for personal enjoyment or to recharge. Behavior: May or may not avoid social situations, but does so without distress. Social Anxiety: Mental health condition: A type of anxiety disorder. Social situations: Experiences extreme fear and discomfort, often leading to avoidance. Emotions: Experiences intense fear of judgment, embarrassment, or humiliation. Motivation: Driven by fear of negative evaluation from others. Behavior: Avoids social situations or endures them with significant anxiety. Additional factors: Physical symptoms: Social anxiety can manifest in physical symptoms like sweating, trembling, blushing, and difficulty breathing. Severity: Social anxiety can range from mild to debilitating. Treatment: Social anxiety can be treated with therapy and medication. Co-occurrence: It's possible to be both introverted and have social anxiety. In short: Quietness is a personality trait that doesn't necessarily involve discomfort in social situations, while social anxiety is a mental health condition characterized by intense fear and avoidance of social settings. If you suspect you or someone you know may have social anxiety, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional for diagnosis and treatment options. Quietness vs shyness Quietness and shyness are both behaviors that can describe someone who doesn't make much noise, but they can have different causes and meanings: Quietness: A quiet person is comfortable in silence. Shyness: A shy person is usually quiet because they lack self-confidence and feel anxious in the company of others. Shyness can also imply inadequacy, an inability to deal with people or situations, or an inability to communicate thoughts or feelings. Shy people may feel uncomfortable, nervous, bashful, timid, insecure, or self-conscious around other people. They may also worry about what other people think of them, and sometimes experience physical symptoms such as sweating, rapid heartbeat, or a stomachache when faced with certain situations. Narcissism is not new. I don't believe it's thrown around too often. Read 2 Timothy 3 a perfect definition of what it is. There is nothing new under the sun... just a different name. It's not personal it spiritual. Stay planted in Christ Jesus 🪴 👑 ✝️
