I think a lot of Christians need to realize, just because someone identifies as a Christian and attends church regularly and is active in the church, and maybe they tithe, maybe they sing in the choir, heck maybe they’re the Pastor….that doesn’t mean they are husband or wife material. That doesn’t mean they aren’t abusive. That doesn’t mean you will be equally yoked with them. Thanks for sharing your story and I hope that people pay attention to this and learn from your experience.

I've been married to a narcissist, together for a total of 8 years. Our daughter's name is also Genesis. How funny. I have left and taken my children to a shelter. Please pray for us. I know the Lord will provide but I need prayer.

Your daughter is very wise. She saw the red flags from the beginning. The short dating phase, surface level, vulnerability, the love bombing, the addiction etc. Our children are truly a gift from God.
There’s always jealously in them; they are Disgusting,jealousy type spirits. &The Churchy southern charm BlackMen of them are the worst. Not real Christians,just Churchy . They rarely will they ever do chores,and encourage you to do better things when they don’t follow through with any of the settled rules: BLACK MEN ONES are the worst. It is insane how all narcissists are EXACTLY the same! I feel like I attract them and I am trying so hard to recognize the signs early on. I attracted them all the time as well. I was listening to Anointed Fire and Tiphani Montgomery. You have to kill the idolatry in your heart for these type of people. Anytime we idolize these people Abba will always allow them to turn on us. I had to tell the truth I did idolize them. I was more anxious and they were more avoidant and I looked up to how people respect them and all their accomplishments. Now I look to YHWH and I ask Abba to let my discernment work. I am obedient to the discernment. 🙏🙏🙏
It had to be God Himself that allowed me to come across this video. I’m currently in a separation and waiting on the Lord to give me the green light to divorce my narc husband. I cannot wait to be 100% free, I wouldn’t wish a narcissistic relationship on my worst enemy.
Wow! May God Bless you and keep you as you wait. It’s certainly a difficult situation. I never saw myself divorcing but when God plainly spoke to me, I realized that staying would’ve meant being disobedient to the Lord. I’m SO thankful for the opportunity to have a clean start!
Girl I thought I was the only one I am going through a divorce right now I was the blame for everything or my kids that were not his was the blame I found my self always trying to back track to see what I did wrong walking on egg shells he abused me an my moms even our baby daughter we have in common he threaten me. I couldn’t take my daughter back to New York, so I left for my boys at that moment. I thought I was what was best to save our lives literally because of their being weapons guns in the house I am fighting for my daughter for her return she is only two years old and I’ve been going through it, I moved back to New York. I miss her so much. Only God knows I pray the Lord does a miracle and return her back to me sooner than soon. I pray thelord will free you my sister because those people will never change. You will live a miserable life.

I was married to a narcissistic Pastor for 27 yrs., and the LORD delivered me and my children out of his bondage!! God revealed it all and I had no help from the church and its leaders (which is a sin and a shame). You nailed it sis!! What you see in the public is not what we get in the private. They show their best selves in public to gain peoples approval and applauses with their charm. So that when it all hit the fan and you decide to leave, you're the villain and they're victim! My ex hated my relationship with our children too and tried to turn my daughter against me, but it DID NOT WORK, she saw straight through it!!! And my son was the one that saw that he had a narcissistic spirit on him! My ex-narc never loved us, everything is conditional and about them, they are very jealous and envy of you because you have what they want (love, empathy, compassion, etc.). We are only ponds on their chess board, and they see us as extensions of them not our own individual selves. They are demonic beings, and I could see the demon in his eyes! They cheat, control, lie, steal, manipulate, gaslight, betray, and turn people and family members against you. They use scripture and God for the justification and benefit. It is all a set-up to destroy you from the very beginning. This is why you met their presenter and not their true identity until you say, "I do!" Thank God for delivering me and my children, I am free now and living my best life in Jesus Christ!
The psychopath I was married to stole our daughter thru manipulation and deception she was brainwashed and does not want anything to do with me her loving mom 😢
What steps did you take to get away without any help? I’m trying to get away. We don’t have any help and very limited resources. He sabotages everything.

I’m so glad I came across this video! My narcissistic ex-husband was a “devout” 7th Day Adventist and put on this front of being so helpful and self sacrificing to church members while being completely cold, absent, and MEAN at home. These people have two faces and the ones closest to them unfortunately see the worse side.

I went through the same thing. I was married to a Christian narcissist for 7 years. I’ve been divorced for 4 years now. I’m so thankful that God set me free.
I did 25 years and had no idea about narcissistic abuse. My son brought it to my attention and that’s how I realized what I had been dealing with. I divorced him and it’s been a year.

Your description is so familiar: an inflated view of himself, making rules for his wife that he himself does not follow (double-standards), projecting his flaws/issues on his wife, picking fights out of the blue, and his wanting so much "respect". What a blessing and thank you for sharing. Yes as Christians we ignore red flags. Same here I was married to a covert narcissist 18 years. Now divorced one year. I met my ex husband at church and he displayed all the charm and affection. Down the road he was a serial cheater on multiple dating sites, he gave long silent treatments over the smallest disagreements, but was nice to me only in front of others, he withheld sex and intimacy. Our son noticed his dad not speaking to me. I knew the chronic silent treatments were intended to hurt and break me. This allowed him to go out and cheat. Yes your body knows sis. I’m so happy God gave me the courage to leave. I’m healing, going to church, reading the Bible, working out , traveling and going out with meet up groups.
Yes! The silent treatments are the worst! He wouldn’t even speak to me at home but was ready to “preach the gospel “ to his neighbors at work in public. 🥴

All these women had no faults, they never misbehaved in their marriages, they never cheated, they were all submissive to their husbands, they never lied to cover up their own wrong doing, COME ON LADIES!!! Marriage is not for your happiness alone. It is for companionship and procreation of Godly children. If you only just want to be happy, please never get married for you will marry for the wrong reasons. How many of you here are Christian women?. If you claim that you are a Christian woman and you are celebrating your divorce, your Christianity is fake. Believe me! The Christian bible says that '"Love covers over a multitude of sins, 1 Peter 4:8"". We can no longer forgive, we cannot ignore and tolerate, we ourselves are not willing to change our behaviors too and we blame it all on our husbands and others. Most women I know don't like to submit to their husbands. They don't like accountability and taking responsibility for their actions too. Often times, you place your children above your husbands and at least damage the minds of the children towards their fathers. You manipulate your husbands regularly to get what you want. Often, when the man refused to be manipulated, then he becomes a Covert Narcissist. May God have mercy on all of your bad mothers and ex-wives out there.

I was “married” to a narcissist for a decade. Glad to be out. Please understand that narcissism is prevalent in the black community. Be careful dating out there!
@@GenieNicoleTV Please take time to heal ,educate yourself , on narcissism, fill your life with hobbies, passions ,work, meaningful relationships like friendships and family. Most therapists recommend people at least after the discard before you put yourself in the dating world. Personally Although I am frankly no mental health professionals, I recommend you take at least a few years to fully discover your authentic self. Once you are comfortable being single and alone if you get into a new relationship the moment you notice red flags you ran for the hill and don't bother trying to save or rescue the narcissists.
The spirit of Narcissism does NOT discriminate based on race, gender, disability, nationality, social status, height, weight, age, denomination, or anything else. Narcissism is NOT more prevalent in the black race. There is no truth in that. It is all inclusive! Howbeit, it may be more shunned to talk about within some races. Therefore help is not seeked by the victims. Hopefully that will change soon with more talk of mental illness & mental health.

They love division. Same in my situation, he wanted to destroy the bond between me and my daughter. They hate the closeness bc they aren’t capable of having genuine, close relationships..:Plus, it’s a way to isolate you.
Yeeessss!!! It was exhausting trying to constantly appease him! It’s like me and my daughter had to sneak around just to hang out. He was so irritated at our bond🥴

I had the same experience when I sought my previous church for counseling. I just kept being told to work on myself pretty much and to understand his behaviors. My ex-husband used it to continue to manipulate me and everyone around us.

Great topic! I experienced a narc and my daughter was the one who saw through his spirit. She said his presence didn't feel genuine. You have to protect your peace and your babies. Although, I always wanted to be married again I knew protection of the mind is better.

There’s nothing like teaching your Daughter early as possible about toxic people. Unfortunately, Narcissistic people are in the church and some happen to be leaders in the church. That really hurts the church community and sometimes will cause people to leave the church. I dated a narcissist for six years and he wore a man of God mask too!!! I didn’t know what a narcissist was until I heard his youngest son call him a narcissist at age of 12 or 13. Once I started my research of narcissistic personalities and relationships, the light bulb totally went off and I began to really pay attention to every little detail. Thank God for blessing me to be able to safely leave. I just want you to know that you are such a wonderful and blessed Mother and your Daughter is also super intelligent and blessed as well. Short dating, none of your family liked him, daughter feeling the burden of saying yes to his engagement… there’s a lot to unpack. I’m glad you both are well, but sister you deserve so much more than just enough. And your gut is there to protect and preserve you. Even when no one around you says anything. Trust yourself.

Your story is so similar to mines …my marriage lasted only 3 years and the Lord was the one who separated us because like you said everyone around us keeping encouraging counseling to which we began as soon as we got married. I stop listening to church people and began listening to God. He showed me so much and let me tell you when my ex left he left me high and dry and God took care of me and I ended up with the house to which was in foreclosure and I had no job …God saved it all for me and this year after 2 years my divorce was final. I was elated to not be connected in anyway to that man. I forgive him and pray for him and his soul but sadly he was a wolf in sheep clothing that went undetected. He also had a food addiction and was horrible with money and was constantly lying and acting so petty and childish. The things I was going through made my sister tell to look up what a narcissist is and then that led me to check out what a sociopath was and he fit the bill. It was God that said “you know your in a toxic relationship” and I was like “no im not, I’m too strong for that” and the Lord said “not mentally, he’s breaking you down mentally”. I was blown away because that was happening. I’m free now and great things are happening in my life ❤ Keep your focus on God and He will direct your steps and blow your mind …don’t worry about what people have to say or think because God will vindicate you

This is so true. I can relate to it all. Different person in private than in public. Constant criticism and lack of compassion or intimacy. Very insecure- constantly accused me of cheating at or looking at other men or ignoring him. I Was so defeated! Christian women offering counseling had no clue how to counsel a woman in an abusive relationship and often hinted to not being gentle and quiet as the reason for the state of the relationship- not the blatant and unrepentant sin of the husband. Finally God freed me. the argument came after I asked him if he had seen my son’s necklace. I anguished for two weeks not even wanting to ask because I knew I would have to pay a price. I did and he told my son and I that we could not just an accuse him without paying a price. I realized then I did not want my son growing up in this environment where he could not respectfully ask a question. All the years of criticism and cruelty overflowed and I started to scream “I’m so angry!” Because I never allowed myself to even consider that I had a right to be unhappy. He told me to leave our home. I quietly said I will be gone by the summer. Later he took it back (he had already told me to get out many times before) and said the Bible never counseled any woman to leave her husband. I went upstairs and prayed. Fully submitting to whatever God said- stay or go. I resolved to stay silent until the Lord spoke to me. I drifted off to sleep and had a dream- it was me and God watching the story unfold with Hagar and Ishmael. The first time she left because of the cruelty of Sarai. The lord asked me “what h happened next?” I immediately began to repent in the dream saying “lord you sent her back!” and the Lord said “wait. What happened next?” I said “she went home and he sent her away again.” And then he said “and then what happened”. I said “and you promised to bless her snd her son and provided water” and then I woke up. In that time the Lord made a way for me to buy a condo that I had prayed for for years. He provided everything for me. He has been so kind. He finally revealed that he died for my heart- not my marriage. That I was trying to save my marriage and it was destroying my heart. My heart was too precious. He released me from my marriage. I am still in the process of recovering my self esteem but I am happier and have the freedom to pursue God without fear of retaliation, criticism or judgment. God is good. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not into your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him. And he will show you which path to take. 1 year from now my divorce is final. I did not seek alimony or equitable distribution. I went a year without alcohol or wine to show proper mourning for something God never intended - the tearing apart of one flesh- but allowed it for the sake of his daughter who was being destroyed. God bless all women who find themselves in the care of a cruel, abusive man. Seek God. Be holy because he is holy. Never repay evil for evil. Forgive and resist bitterness. He will tell you which steps to take. Be blessed.
Love watching your healing journey with your daughter (she is such a smart well spoken queen) . Projection- Narcissist accuse you of exactly what they are actually doing themselves. Triangulation- Narcissist either by comparing or pitting against each other unknowingly put two people against each other.

There's no such thing as a perfect marriage or relationship; each one is special. What makes one person happy might not make another person happy. But I've realized that there's always a way to solve problems. Five years ago, my wife and I were almost getting divorced because we had problems in our marriage, but we managed to sort things out. It was a difficult time, but we got through it.
I totally get how important your words are, and I really want to be happy too. I'm in a relationship, and even though we're apart now, I can't think of life without her; my love for her is big. I really miss her, and I'm determined to bring her back. We've tried different ways, like therapy, to fix things.

This has blessed me soooo much. I was in a relationship with a narcissist for 5 years. He was not a Christian but would attend church with me for months, get delivered, then be very angry all over again right after service . There were so many layers for all those years, plus we had two children in addition to my first daughter from a previous relationship. She reminds me so much of your beautiful and eloquent daughter. Now that I am finally free from this guy I pray and aim to repair my relationship with my 1st daughter ensuring that’s it’s grounded in Our relationship with Jesus Christ. Thank you for posting!! ❤❤❤
Glad you all got out of that chaotic environment and thank you for sharing your truth! You are speaking spot on when it comes to this type of individual. I have experienced the same situation as you and your daughter concerning my child. He was jealous of our relationship for no apparent reason. He would find an invalid complaint about us that never corresponded with the facts of the matter. It was one of his weird tactics to prove nothing just so he could be intentionally in anger mode. I thought he was a great, God-fearing person who truly believed in exemplifying the fruits of the spirit. He started out as kind and attentive, but was really mimicking the empathetic, spiritual nature of me to bait me into his shenanigans. These are some dangerous people to deal with on so many levels whether it’s mental, physical, emotional, financial, spiritual, etc. Their actions are subtle and rooted with extreme manipulation. The relationship simply revolves around their desires and them looking innocent to the public. But yet, behind closed doors the disrespectful, argumentative, unapologetic behavior is seen. Also, your perspective will never stand with them because they are always right, even when they are wrong. They are exempt from accountability in their eyes. The longer you stay, the more comfortable they get with coming out of their pretend role. My overall point is, it is an unhealthy space with no peace at all. They will do whatever it takes to break you down and carry the same issues into the next relationship because they refuse to address their real internal problems. Please run from this type of person and NEVER EVER look back!

It is good seeing people like yourself openly discussing this topic when it comes to being in a narcissistic relationship. Many will not speak up and unfortunately will continue to stay in the cycle of abuse due to the fear of being judged for making a safe decision to get out.

He did Not say Bless You when I sneeze. The loved a nasty bathroom or kitchen. It was some sort of Trauma to have old cars, old everything. I have been No Contact for 2 years now❤ thank you again for sharing it helps us all that have been through it, know we are not the only one❤

OMG!! All of the things you mentioned are the EXACT SAME things I went through during my marriage. But praise God for an exit and an opportunity to reinvent my life which is now filled with His peace, clarity, hope joy etc. God is faithful AND able!!
I’m sorry that you lived that experience. I can definitely relate. I hope that God heals your heart and that you are able to cope through all the after effects. Dealing with narcissistic abuse with church counselors are detrimental in my experience. Thank God that you got through it.
Wow. I can’t believe it’s so many people with similar situations. That’s how I know it’s demonic too. Same spirit but different faces working through these men to destroy the body of Christ 🤦🏾♀️
@GenieNicoleTV yes indeed... my ex-husband's pastor made him a deacon in the church without even speaking to me first when we were married. My son and I were sick that Sunday he was appointed and I just sat looking at the live stream in disbelief as to why this pastor didn't have discernment of my ex-husbands spirit...and he is still a deacon at that church after I told the pastor during our counseling session before we got divorced about all of the emotional abuse he put me through shortly after our marriage. I'm constantly asking Jesus to give me discernment as He prepares me for my forever Holy Spirit filled husband so I don't have to go through what I did ever again and not seeing a man's true self.
I dated 3 Narcs and this 4th one i finally realised i was part of the problem, having no boundries and wanting love. but narcs are so dangerous especally the coverts they are the worst.yes and your sprit realises it first i knew instantly this last person was off when they tried to hold my hand and i couldnt react i just froze, even when i tried to recipecate my body just wouldnt move it was werid.
Wow! Yessss. Our bodies definitely know something is wrong. After I left my ex, I discovered that he wasn’t the only narc in my life. My daughter’s father was one and so was my dad(who was absent in my life). I’ve spent the last year really working through my own past trauma and mistakes because I certainly didn’t want my daughter to find this behavior acceptable
Thank you for sharing your story. You both are an encoragement to me. I have been with my husband for almost 6 years, married for almost 10 months. For 4.5 years our relationship was good. We had disagreements here and there but nothing out of the ordinary. I relocated and so he was now living with me and approximately 2 months later there was a drastic change in his behavior. We started arguing everyday to the point where I was waking up anxious about the day. All of the character traits that have been described by you and your daughter along with the ones mention in the comments he exhibits. I recently found out about narcissism and since have been educating myselfin the topic. I have decided to leave my marriage because it's now gotten to the point where infidelity is in question, the trust has been lost because of all the lying, not to mention the lack of respect at home and in public that recently surfaced. Sometimes I thought I must be mad to be putting up with his behavior not to mention comprising in conversation and opinions to temper the arguments. What I liked most about your video is to see that you have both recovered from your experience with a narcissist and that you and your daughter are happy. She's a beautiful young lady. And I realized that God does NOT treat me this way. There’s no way that Jesus shed his precious blood for me to remain in bondage! So I took my chances and divorced. Been much more peaceful for sure! 24 long years, and what's the most painful is the family who constantly pressured and still pressure me to forgive the unrepentant abuse & stay. He left us, took all the money, for his new supply & all his debt is crushing me under foot. The level of toxicity is sickening. I am so glad you had supportive family & did not face (hopefully) the loss of your career and home behind his damage.
@GenieNicoleTV That's what I am working on daily, but at this point, these are words (forgive & move on) and actions that are not quite connected to what I feel yet. This JUST happened to me so it's new & I'm still in court & dealing w/ flying monkeys & his gaslighting...alone. The support would help me move on but I only have 1 long distant friend & God. I will get through it but I pray I will be standing still.
Both you and your daughter are absolutely beautiful. Nobody better not say anything wicked about either one of you especially your daughter. If they do, you call me and I am going to pull up. I’m sorry you went through that I went through an extremely unhealthy break up in a long-term relationship just like you. I learn so many life lessons. I hope you’re doing well and I’m sure you took the tremendous blessing from all of this. There is definitely pain and purpose and everything you go through that pain. Don’t waste it. I am so glad I found this video. I divorced my narcissistic ex-husband 1 year ago in July and we've been separated 2 years this past May (the father of my 8 year old daughter). He's now living with and in a relationship with the mistress he cheated on me with for 4 of our 8 year marriage. our daughter tells me a lot of things that they do and say to her that I know are manipulation and it's so hard for me to not speak up sometimes (some things I do clarify for her; other things, I know she will see as she gets older like your daughter). But hearing it from a teenage girl has really helped me. I've been intentional about creating a "safe space" for my daughter to express her feelings (and boy does she do that, lol) but I do know that she doesn't have language yet for some of her bigger feelings. This is good to know. Thank you for sharing. I was in a few relationships that carried narcissistic spirits & I didn't know. Those relationships were so painful to be in. I thank God I'm out of that relationship & know what to look for the next time I date.
Sorry to hear what happened to you. I’m also very sorry that your daughter had to witness and experience the trauma of your toxic marriage. I pray she heals and not repeat those same cycles.

Thank you for your transparency I had a male “friend” years ago just like this, although he never physically assaulted me, I did not recognize his toxic tendencies until we crossed the lines of friendship and became intimate…he was a narcissistic “pastor” who in my opinion preyed on my vulnerabilities and made me feel very insecure. Giving “almost” compliments saying things like “ once you gain more weight in future you’ll reach your full potential.” Then 5 years into debauchery because it was not a friendship nor relationship…After I had my daughter and gained too much weight and wanted to loose it to go back to my prior weight it was “oh no the old you will never come back”. It was a toxic inconsistent physical relationship and he abandoned me as a “friend “ once I had my daughter as they’d be long stretches where he and I didn’t speak and he didn’t want to be my “friend “ anymore. He said he was hurt smh Meanwhile never had any intention to date or become more I felt like I was loosing my mind with the gaslighting feeling bad because everyone was what I did to Him. I’m celibate now and have relented and have devoted myself entirely to Jesus I forgive him and know now what a true man of God should look like. Thanks for sharing!
I'm so glad I came across this video. There were times I would question myself in regards to my faith and forgiveness and wanting to be a better wife. So I would overlook things and I would end up staying. The only problem is that things continued to get worse. We have been married since January. I'm currently in the process of separation, moving towards an annulment because this last thing that happened was the last straw. When it's involving the church it is difficult because they put on a mask in front of other people but at home turn into this totally different person. I already dealt with that type of thing growing up and I thought he understood that... but maybe he understood too well! Much Love. Thank you for sharing.

This is so true. I can relate to it all. Different person in private than in public. Constant criticism and lack of compassion or intimacy. Very insecure- constantly accused me of cheating at or looking at other men or ignoring him. I Was so defeated! Christian women offering counseling had no clue how to counsel a woman in an abusive relationship and often hinted to not being gentle and quiet as the reason for the state of the relationship- not the blatant and unrepentant sin of the husband. Finally God freed me. the argument came after I asked him if he had seen my son’s necklace. I anguished for two weeks not even wanting to ask because I knew I would have to pay a price. I did and he told my son and I that we could not just an accuse him without paying a price. I realized then I did not want my son growing up in this environment where he could not respectfully ask a question. All the years of criticism and cruelty overflowed and I started to scream “I’m so angry!” Because I never allowed myself to even consider that I had a right to be unhappy. He told me to leave our home. I quietly said I will be gone by the summer. Later he took it back (he had already told me to get out many times before) and said the Bible never counseled any woman to leave her husband. I went upstairs and prayed. Fully submitting to whatever God said- stay or go. I resolved to stay silent until the Lord spoke to me. I drifted off to sleep and had a dream- it was me and God watching the story unfold with Hagar and Ishmael. The first time she left because of the cruelty of Sarai. The lord asked me “what h happened next?” I immediately began to repent in the dream saying “lord you sent her back!” and the Lord said “wait. What happened next?” I said “she went home and he sent her away again.” And then he said “and then what happened”. I said “and you promised to bless her snd her son and provided water” and then I woke up. In that time the Lord made a way for me to buy a condo that I had prayed for for years. He provided everything for me. He has been so kind. He finally revealed that he died for my heart- not my marriage. That I was trying to save my marriage and it was destroying my heart. My heart was too precious. He released me from my marriage. I am still in the process of recovering my self esteem but I am happier and have the freedom to pursue God without fear of retaliation, criticism or judgment. God is good. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not into your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him. And he will show you which path to take. 1 year from now my divorce is final. I did not seek alimony or equitable distribution. I went a year without alcohol or wine to show proper mourning for something God never intended - the tearing apart of one flesh- but allowed it for the sake of his daughter who was being destroyed. God bless all women who find themselves in the care of a cruel, abusive man. Seek God. Be holy because he is holy. Never repay evil for evil. Forgive and resist bitterness. He will tell you which steps to take. Be blessed.
Whew! Thank you so much for sharing your testimony! You have expressed this so eloquently, and I definitely relate to all of it. When I was done, I was DONE. I didn't want alimony nor for him to be repaid back for what he did because truthfully, I allowed it by staying and entering a union that was never God-ordained.
