The Cheltenham Badlands are one of the most unique natural features in Ontario. It is amazing Mars-Like Landscape in OntarioThe Cheltenham Badlands are in Caledon, Ontario, on the south east side of Olde Base Line Road, between Creditview and Chinguacousy Roads. The Cheltenham Badlands are a significant educational site due to the readily visible geologic processes and the red color and the unique topography of the exposed shale makes this a popular tourist site. The Badlands are an exposed section of the Queenston Formation, which was formed between 420 and 415 million years ago during the Middle and Late Ordovician periods.

I lived in Caledon at one time with its waterfalls, winding, steep road and dense forests. Never once did we consider it part of Toronto. It's a magical world all on its own 💙 and I was blessed to have experienced life here.

Just in case... if you decide to visit this place - you will need to book and buy ticket online ahead, they have very limited parking

Hello our friend, this spot brings beautiful memories in our family. We were lucky to experience this site though out all seasons which includes snowy winter! We were lucky we didn't have to pay for the parking, because there were none! Driving around the area, you will find "Spirit Tree Estate Cidery;" it is worth the visit too. Ciao

Thanks for the tip, will check Spirit Tree Estate Cidery next time I am in the area. I do remember time when we could walk on it and didn't have to worry about parking or fees
