Great demo! I’m wondering if I would need this since my fractal fm3 can emulate it good enough. However would I have a nicer sustain & feel while playing through this as opposed to processor? Your thoughts pls.
According to the manual, there is a WARNING: When using the DSL1HR head for ‘silent’ practice or DI recording ALWAYS disconnect the speaker cabinet from the amplifier’s rear panel before switching on. NEVER unplug the speaker cable from the speaker cabinet while it is still connected to the amplifier rear panel. This may stress the amplifier’s power-stage and in extreme cases may lead to valve and/or transformer failure.
@@enielsenvideos It says that Do not unplug the speaker cable while you are using the amp! If you want to use the emulated out, always switch off, then unplug the cable, make connection from the emulated out, and switch on. I always did it, but..... sound from the emulated out was very disappointing. Now I'm using DSL5CR with Isolation Cabinet - Celestion Alnico Blue!!!
@@enielsenvideos it is because there is a dummy load built into the amp which is engaged when there is no cable plugged into the 16 ohm cab output. If you leave cable plugged into this output on the head and instead unplug cable from the extension cabinet end, then the dummy load will not engage and you will likely damage the amplifier for lack of load. Also you will not get a good emulated out signal while a cabinet is connected, you need to disconnect to get full signal out of the emulated out.
@@bluesbear71 is it worth getting a jhs volume pedal with this. It goes down to 0.1 watt but if cranked at that volume, can still get too loud for apartment use. Would jhs help with that?
@@allboutthemojo Hi, I'm using DSL5C now. But why do you want to crank it up? The biggest advantage of this amp is that it sounds great even at low volume. In DSL5C, I can select 1W and 5W, and I usually enjoy 5W.
@@bluesbear71 all forums and groups always say that these Marshall tube amps don't sound great until they are cranked up very high. So I wondered how people do that at home because it can get extremely loud. People are saying to turn up the amp volume high and then put a volume pedal like jhs little black box in the effects loop to turn it down. I have not tried it
