I’d be fascinated by you or anyone else doing a blind test with these speakers. That seems to be the most honest way of deciding which sound you like the best.
This is true! Even at the start of the video he is already siding with the emberton. The emberton is really a good speaker but this video was made to tell us how he love marshall and it shows even to his other content.

I am very surprised by the rating on the Bose. I think it sounds rather good for movies and rather impressive for the size. However very tempted to get my hands on an Emberton. I am surprised you did not mention anything about the Emberton sound technology that is radically different from any other speaker 'true stereophonics". Just lacks a lot of bass for outdoor it seems.
Yeah I'm not entirely sure how the stereo works on it, but its definitely worth a deeper dive in the future. You should check one out, its free to return in most cases.
i'm a seafarer and i've been in too many countries already in my career and i got my JBL Charge 3 with me in my journey for 2 years now and i'm so happy with it's performance especially when i updated the firmware it is so dope. i'm contented with my charge 3 man. thanks for the review.
I have the same special edition Bose mini and I agree with the sound review( I like the design but to each their own). But I use it mostly as a desk speaker connected to a high quality DAC which makes the most out of the speakers within it. I highly recommend the bose soundlink if you intend on using it wired into a DAC. Great review!
This is the review I was looking for! I own the first-gen Bose and it finally crapped out (used as my desk speaker). I've been pleased with my Marshall Stanmore 2 in my bedroom, but am glad that the little Emberton seems to be the perfect replacement for my ancient Bose.
i stopped trusting the judgement when jbl was listed as second best 😩it’s just loud, the quality and bass is not there i was given an old bose sound link 1 and its starting to pack up, guess i’m buying the second lol
@@Liza_vince yes i did. its been 2 months now and let me tell ya. I AM ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE. it's so small and compact yet the sound it produces is no different than $600 Bose speaker. I take it camping and picnic with me. And I have a fews ppl ask me what brand and where i buy it. So in conclusion, if you looking for a new speaker. Get the Emberton! 🥰

Nice job. I have my Emberton about a week now. I love the warm tube amp audio sound that IS Marshall. I have a 2 TB microsd card worth of assorted mp3, collector's cuts, podcasts, all old tech from the days of Winmx...the Emberton has given new life to my personal collection, which range from old Glenn Miller and Andy Griffith to bootleg radio Caroline pirate radio broadcasts...I highly recommend this speaker!
Great mini review! I’m looking for a small speaker for my small apartment living room that will be portable as well, to take to other rooms and outside sometimes. But mostly inside. Will the emberton fill a small room with decent sound?
idk if this will help anyone. but i was in between these 3 and had previously owned a beats pill, after purchasing the marshall, i loved the sound and quality but it wasnt as loud, found myself cranking up volume to around 80% when usually with beats pill i had it at 50% and sound was just more alive. in conclusion, loud is not always better, but the quality did sound amazing, ended up buying a sony extra bass
I get why people don’t like Bose but me personally I love Bose it’s more so a personal preference, a lot of people just have different tastes so really I think it’s what you like I guess.
The oldest one (Bose) is the best for my opinion. Emberton sounds with more high frequency. Bose sounds more balanced like you have Home Theater in the back.. JBL and Boom are outsiders.

Yesterday I was ready to buy the Bose mini 2 after seeing it at Costco. I lost my flip 4 and had to replace. I watched this vid as my “research” and was quickly swayed. Bought my emberton today and I’m very happy I did. The sound, look, feel and functionality of it is just so good. Thanks bro.
Too bad you lost your Flip 4. Fortunately, you decided to replace it with Emberton. I have a Flip 4 and I admit that Emberton sounds clearer and purer than it even though it does have more bass. If you had replaced it with Bose mini II, it would have been a huge disappointment and downgrade 😂
Agreed. It's awesome. Well worth the extra if you are an audiophile and only care about audio quality. The JBL is definitely not worth considering at half the price. Hnless you want it's features. The Bose is pants.
The red light on my JBL Go 2 sold by Metro is not staying Red or charging. Do you know what I can press to make it charge because I think it needs to be reset because the lights white and red are there but it won't stay Red like it did before. I'm not sure I'm pressing the right button s as it still connect s or pairs. So if the battery was dead it probably would not pair or lights would not light up at all????
I came from a wonderboom and got my Emberton, AMAZING speaker, first song I played: Nothing else mathers - Metallica and I almost cried... the guitars so crispy!
I’ve heard the JBL Flip, and it sounds great, and is the better value. But the Emberton is the better sounding speaker. Period. The Flip isn’t too far behind though.
I haven't had many Bose in my day, but the Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 are pretty amazing. Last year I was working on cars as a technician and not only did it cut out all of the shop noise, it was so soft to wear for 10 hours sweating daily.. Aside from that.. your opinions of these speakers really have cracking up 🤣
portable speaker is designed for carry everywhere, only home speaker is design for fixed location. But if you are BOSE fans, you should go for BOSE SoundLink Revolve+ for portable speaker experience
I agree that Bose mini2 sound quality is disappointing. I have this Bose mini special edition and JBL flip 5, the difference between the two is enormous. JBL has crisp and bass sound while the Bose mini is flat and whispering. I thought the sound quality is as good as its soundbars and headphones.
I've had the bose for a couple of years now and I don't really care for it. The best way I can describe the bass tones is fudgy and overpowers the rest of the music. Also for whatever reason the speaker for some reason sounds better out the back then the front of it.
I own two Marshall speakers; killburn 2 & emberton. Always have loved Marshall, but, I must say it's more of the branding & hype around. It's way costly compared to others like Tribit or Anker. Tribit Stormbox, for instance, provides almost the same or rather better base pinch at relatively less than half the price of Marshall.
Hello. I might be wrong about this, but I do own a Soundlink Mini 2 and I don't think it's as bad as you make it sound. I have tried a lot of BT speakers and imo Bose does stand out the crowd. Now, since I own the mini 2, I can tell you with confidence that the Bose logo is kind of has a faded grey look unlike the one you own, which is totally white. So maybe you can check whether it's an authentic product. I have heard Bose products have a LOT of fake products going around. Thanks.
You mean the Bose SoundLink Mini II limited edition in black & copper colour? I have the same model and can guarantee its authenticity. For me it's overpriced & overrated and it doesn't sound as hi-fi like my other portable BT speakers.

I'm excited to get my Emberton soon. I have a JBL flip 5 and Sony xb33. I like the sound quality of my xb33 but like outdoors I prefer the Flip 5 because it's more loud but they don't sound so nice when I watch movies. If I like the Emberton I'm giving up the Flip 5. I had the Bose minilink II before and I usually listen to it in a room and I thought they sound nice when I listen to jazz, classical, acoustic type of music also movies they were good too but didn't like it so much outdoors.
Could you tell how Emberton vs Flip 5 for movie watching? I'm shopping for BT speakers exclusively to watch Netflix and wonder between Emberton, Flip5 and Soundcore Motion Plus. Thanks!
I know what you mean with the 2d bose sound. I had an Anker that was cheap like 70euro and now I have a charge 4 and the difference in the range the music comes out the box is enorm. With the Anker it was like you say with the bose, only from the front part, but the charge 4 is much more 360 degrees.
Danny, if you want a Comparison that NO-ONE has done YET...Marshall Middleton VS. Klipsch Detroit!!! And maybe toss the Orange-Box in there for giggles??
This is a quality review actually showcasing the speakers sound and comparing them back to back instead of reviewers just talking about it's features, I don't get reveiwers who reviews tech and not even show a demo of it. The speakers speak for themselves and if I wanted to know it's exact features I can just look it up online.
I have both soundlink mini 2 and emberton. I must say, I’m pretty impressed with the quality of emberton more. Not to mention the design and sturdiness of it. Also you have to consider the battery life and it is 100% waterproof.
@@aliefavisenna1994 I have the 1st gen Bose mini sound link and I think it sounds better than the Marshall. I’ll still probably keep the Marshall because I heard 2nd gen mini sound links don’t sound as good as the first.
@@embeaston i have both I and II. Also i have the JBL Flip 5. I love the Bose sound, for me Bose SLM II sounds better than the I and also better than the Flip 5. The Flip 5 has way more battery, more base and more volume at its max. Overall, for me, the flip 5 is the winner to go outside, indoors, the bose II.
I was looking to buy an Ultimate Ears Boom 3 as we use two of these at work but I wanted to look check the market. I know it sounds louder than another bluetooth CD player we have but I was surprised to find out in your video that UE Boom 3 sounded mufled to me. It was actually the worst to me. I don't know what you heard. Maybe next time you can play the song file directly in the video along the speakers sound for reference. It would be great to hear the sound coming from directly from the player and then the sound coming from the recording of the speakers. Thank you for this video.
The Bose headphones for the most part stopped following that ole audiophile joke some years ago, but yeah, I've got a soundlink mini ii, a Klipsch Heritage Groove (I now hate that entire brand with a seething burning passion talk about audiophile snake oil), the Emberton, and the much bigger Sony xb33. The xb33 can fill a room better, but it's a darker sound, even if you try to EQ it. It's nice, it's fun, but maybe too much sometimes. And the lights don't power down 100% when you need them to, and you have to download yet another Sony app, and it doesn't automatically connect to two devices like the Emberton will. But yeah, sure, nice speaker for a room, depending on what you're listening to. The Marshall punches way above it's weight, is tiny, doesn't need a freaking app to work, and you can easily see how much battery you got. It's just a nice speaker to listen to, and a nice one to use, so guess which one gets used more?

Best trying the speaker's after 100 hour's of use when there properly broken in. Also I don't trust any speaker with an ion battery. Some of them only last a year or two before packing in. Especially soundlink mini Bose say the battery only has a 2 year shelf life . The Bose soundlink is one of the best Bluetooth speakers ever I'm surprised that you say it's of far less quality than the other 3 the engineering behind it is fantastic it doesn't sound terrible how can millions of people be wrong?. I'd probably go for the Marshall though as there amps are superb. I don't know how anyone could take you seriously with a shirt like that 😂
I am an audiophile enthusiast with a collection of bluetooth speakers. From your review, I would have to say the Marshall Emberton wins hands down. The runner up would be the JBL. I also recently bought a Harmon Kardon Neo bluetooth speaker which has amazing sound quality with 10 hours battery life and can fit nicely in pockets.

Boise and Sony are not chalked up to what they used to be. Sony brakes down unfixable unless you send the manufacturer the whole system, this takes time and the wait can suck, they should just send a replacement in A 1 condition also cost of delivery charges not reimbursed. Boise just doesn't cut it with the speaker for it's price, unless it's in your car system with speakers built in to the car. Boise that's built in by the manufacturer specifications in to the car sound Awesome. Just my opinion. If you find a car dealer or a car who still has Boise installed usually in more on the expensive top just sit in the car turn the Boise on and listen for 10 mins your guaranteed to fall in l❤️ve with that Boise as the system is installed with Boise specifications and that is where & how Boise got there name so We'll heard years ago. People we're just flocking to Radio Shack asking, pleading to have a Boise surround sound system installed, I see why now as I've sat in a new car that had this with the dealer. Of course I did not buy this painfully expensive nice piece of machinery that would have turned heads for Miles going down the road with the roof off and blaring the Boise system with Classical anything music. Do you think the Marshall would be the best option compared to any Bluetooth speaker for making music? I nearly bought it for that today, but only had the terrible Bose and average Flip to comoare it with.
Totally agree with the video creator, I kinda liked the Marshall and the JBL, the BOSE and the UE sounded hollow and dull. Guitar amp guys would say that those two speakers were “farting”.
