Marshall JCM 2000 - The Workhorse 

My personal favorite series from Marshall.

Best bang for the buck Marshall. I have the 50 and will never get rid of it

I had this workhorse when It first came out in 98'. What a nice amp.

There was a Russian tube amp Builder in the 90s who were quite well known Called Petersburg Amps and Jimmy Page Played them from 1995 to 2001 and used them for some songs during the 2007 Zep Reunion show . They sound great and are a cross between a Marshall Plexi and an old Hiwatt DR 103.

I had one years ago. I found it good, bbut not great (My first Marshall was a plexy full stack in 1972). I sold it to go through many other models, till I got a 1976 SuperBass. Great amp. But in the years, having changed many different Marshall cabinets, I think I found the reason why I couldn’t get my tone with the DSL: SPEAKERS!!! I had a 90s cab with those horrible standard Celestions. Greenbacks make your head sing (I also have another 1960 cab, the Jimi Hendrix series with special made Greenbacks. This one sounds even better!) I am curious to test a DSL head whith my cabs, but I’m sure it will be days and night

Wicked playing throughout ALL your videos and shorts mate, doing late 70s 80s hard rock like VH lynch and demartini justice 🤟🙏 *PLEASE tell me your settings for your marshall jcm dsl 2000 here i just got one and even through a 4x12 and a similar superstrat with great pickups in either of my les pauls mine sounds nothing like this!* ^ Please help when you see this , any suggested setings ?? I wamt to try using the amp 100% first before going down the route of hitting it with pedala because the amp comes with a LOT of gain on tap i dont see how a TS9 or SD1 is really needed when the amp comes with distortion ? Maybe you can explain more. You sound just like michael schenkers tone and vibe here when you started to really rock out. Mine just doenst sound like this i dont get a " fat" hard rock sound in the room when playing at all its pretty harsh and bitey and thats with my 2 les pauls which arent insanely "bright" guitars wondering what else I could do ?? ^ Thanks in advance and please lmk whenever you see this. Is this a dsl50, dsl100 or a tsl ?

The solo notes sing with even EQ , the Amps upper bass frequency is a bit forward rather than muddy pending on your guitar. I have used a JCM 2000 : 50 watt half stack in a recording and found it recorded well. Always tried to coax the best sound out of it , pedal less , coming from a Plexi ear as well. The 100 watter with some mods sound quite decent, the 50's get the job done in my humble brag . Great presentation as always ! PS. l would enjoy your considerations toward the new amp in stomp box format , Boss , Universal Audio etc, as having bespoke tones available over rent a backline is important to me as it is you , Thanks in advance!
