At times, people close their minds to the power of music. And its abilities to thwart evil forces throughout the universe. Great tune. For some reason it always reminds me of " pilot of the airways" by Charlie dore. Probably because this song is kind of a one hit wonder for Martha. Whereas pilot Was Charlie dores gem hit. Dont misplace my words. Both charlie and martha play wonderful music. The point though is these two songs were " technically" their one hit wonders. Both martha and charlie are superb female vocalists. Yet' Either way; pilot of the airways was Charlie's number one song whereas this tune :echo beach::: Puts Martha and her muffins on the musical maps.

Personally, this is my most Toronto song (I lived there for 14 years). It captures the rhythm of the city, the sanctuary of the beaches -- I can even picture the TTC moving to it. And naming an actual city beach "Echo Beach" was a stroke of genius.

My favourite song of all time. Never ages. I love running to the beat of this song. Ran the Edinburgh marathon listening to this song over and over again. I trained in the south of France running from St Tropez to Ste Maxine listening to this. 30K round trip in 30 degree heat. Loved it.

To say I miss the 80's is a massive understatement. This is the only way to get "the final countdown" out of your head

Indeed. A thumping great rhythm, crisp guitar, and fabulous vocals. What's not to like about this. My era too as a young teen.

I was a teenager and seriously ill when this song first hit, I was at home in bed and my TV packed in so only a radio for a few days, this song was on there constantly and it always reminds me of that time, staring out the window watching clouds float by i a sort of painkiller induced 'spaciousness' it was unreal man.

What I love about this video is there are two women just looking at each other enjoying the music and not playing up to any man!

Levin Mulder This tune made the addition of a saxophone an 80's pop thing. When I was younger it took me a while to "warm up" to this tune, and now I am amazed at how iconic it has become.

Well the 80's are now "far away in time" like the song says but they were my teenage years and the memories will stay with me forever. I'd go back in an instant if I could but sadly those days will never return. Thank you for uploading this great song.
