@@PrettyGoodLookin you can leave a little sugar out, it's the best cheesecake I've ever made and I've made many, I baked one of these for my sister's birthday, everyone loved it, I added cinnamon to my crust , delicious
Martha I made this and this was my FIRST TIME EVER making a cheesecake. My roommate said " You killed it" and gave me a high five. It truly is that BEST of it's kind. Thank you for helping me step out of the "I can't" zone.
Congratulations! I fully understand the "I can't" feeling! She is the one who helped me make my first one, too, back in the early 1990's. I was a bundle of nerves before I saw her on tv, and at that time, the internet wasn't anything like it is today, so there was no hopping online to learn, if you were unsure, so I video taped it. The idea of a bain marie made me really nervous, after all, that is an awful LOT of waste, if it leaks, and I was just a young twenty something married, father of two children with not much money to spare. It turned out perfectly, too! Isn't that just the greatest feeling, serving up something this special to your loved ones? Your friend is very blessed to have you as her friend!
2023 EASTER DESSERT!!! I have never made a cheesecake in my life…. I’m over 65! I made this for my family and it was awesome!!!!!!!! I WILL DEFINITELY MAKE THIS AGAIN! THANK YOU MARTHA STEWART!
For those who haven't got aluminum foil they can put 4 mugs full of water around the cheesecake pan to avoid the cheesecake cracking 👍 and thank you so much for your so nice teaching videos 🌹👍🌹👍🌹👍
I need to try putting butter on my pan. Mine gets a little stuck on the side and I just use hot knife to get it out. I’ll have to try the butter next time. Looks great!!!
I’m surprised Martha doesn’t know about the trick to avoid needing the water bath. You simply add 1/2” of graham crust to the sides of the pan. That helps prevent the filling from cracking…and also provides more delicious crust we all enjoy right? (Can also add crushed macadamia nuts or walnuts for even better crust flavor)
OMG I guess I've never had a New York cheesecake. I followed this recipe and Mrs. Stewart never fails to give an easy recipe to follow and is always great. Thank you
Hello Martha, also Martha here😊❤😉 I want to thank you sweetheart for sharing with us this incredible, decadent New York cheesecake recipe! Which I ended up baking @12am & will keep me up until 3am Tucson AZ time! Unfortunately my stand mixer broke & all I was able to use was a blender with only 1 attachment! That's why it took me longer to bake but let me tell you sweetheart I don't think I've made a cheesecake like your's WOW!! Looks incredibly delicious, I won't be able to eat until later this afternoon! I know it'll be worth the wait thank you again sweetheart & may God continue blessing you & your's 😇💐🙏🏼
I’ve made at least 30 of these in the last four years. I made 5 of them when my oldest daughter got married. Except now I have ditched the foil and use a silicon water bath. Works so much better. But I also use lemon zest and bake it longer than the recipe calls for.
I absolutely love this recipe and it's delicious. The one thing I think you might want to remind people is that the cake needs to cool before you pop the Springform pan. The first time I made it I followed the video to the letter and I took it out of the oven and just popped the pan and I had molten hot cheescake everywhere. It may seem obvious now but the first time you make it, if you're following the directions to the letter it does not say 'let cool'.
Thank you so much for this recipe and how you show a detail for detail I'm a single mom I'm working for the holiday and I made 2 of these with you on my kitchen table in my tablets and I follow the directions exactly the way you're showing it step by step I give my kids a small little cupcake set of the cheesecake to take to school and the rest I put away for the holidays because I'm going to be working this is such a great help watching your videos and going along with you Step by step
Hope you find a home with a kitchen soon brother! I’ll be honest.. I’m curious how you’re living without a type of kitchen or small oven..Do you live outdoors or something ?
Greetings from southcentral Texas USA 🇺🇸! The completed recipe is stunningly gorgeous, especially when we are delightfully blessed to see it at the end of the video . It looks so tasty 😋 and perfect - I can not wait to try this recipe! Thank you so very very. much , Ma. Lovely Master Chef/Master Baker Martha Stewart. Again, thank you.
In Thanksgiving: Might a person be able to add bottled tiramisu flavoring to the recipe instead of Vanilla Flavoring and/or possibly half vanilla extract and half tiramisu extract ?
Used your recipe. Made two mistakes. 1) I was not generous enough when I buttered the pan, so a small amount of the graham cracker crust stuck. The ring still removed easily. 2) I failed to lower the mixing bowl down and scrape the bottom regularly. I scraped the sides but not the bottom. Hence, my mix was not 100% homogenous but it was close.. My oven is old and it lies. It will not hold a consistent temperature. Even with all of that, the darn cake tastes great. It was the tiniest bit softer near the center but the outer six inches is NYC cheesecake. So, my wife is excited because now she gets a new stove. Next cake will be perfect. Good recipe.
@@shannonannabanana : Fortunately, it is an easy fix. Bet your next one turns out great. Also, I bought an oven thermometer I can see through the glass and I now have an accurate reading. My second cake turned out perfect . Have fun, stay safe.
I made this for Thanksgiving and my guests couldn’t believe how fantastic it tasted! It seems not many know about the hot water trick when baking this! Thank you Martha!!
@@douglasdaniels1521 You can stop making your "very unhealthy" comment reply to everyone's comment. Nobody advertised it as healthy,... and more importantly nobody asked for, nor wants your opinion.
Delicious, i will try to make it When I was working ( long ago ) my co- workers used to call me “ Martha Stewart “ was so please to be call that! Use to work for the administrative office of the Court (Criminal division). Well there was a cake bake contest a judge signed me in, I dint have time to bake it, bought it plain at a local supermarket bakery and decorate myself trying to imitate Martha Stewart , well, I couldn’t lie to the judge, so I told him the truth, my cake won first place, the judge explained I didn’t do it, but my decoration won second place 💫 THANK YOU MARTHA 🌹
Well I just watch the episode on RU-vid on the New York style cheesecake it looks very delicious and I have to try and make it myself one day I always loved your shows
If you do not like using aluminum foil, for any reason, a really wonderful alternative is to use an oven roasting bag, such as used for turkeys, chickens, hams, veggies, etc. You can even save it to reuse, again, for that same purpose, which is good, since they can be a bit pricey. This is not my idea, I have seen it mentioned on other channels, and blogs, and it is well worth passing around!
Thank you Martha Stewart, for this recipe, I've made many of these with excellent reviews, I would love to know where you got your beautiful tea kettle, love it I'd like to find me one, by the way I love your kitchen
I make an almond crust, use stevia, and think about the carbs instead of calories. If you aren't eating low carb, it is still a calories issue lol. I love this recipe. Let's see how it works with stevia instead of sugar and the almond crust.
The cheesecake baked great. Very minor and shallow cracks in a couple of places close to the edge. As there will be a lemon curd topping, not a problem. I used a 10" springform pan and I had quite a bit of extra batter left over and yes, I followed the recipe only adding lemon zest. The taste of the batter before and after the lemon zest was great. I'll cut into this cheese cake tomorrow evening and find out what the finished product is like. No doubt that it will be delicious.
Great video, love your stuff, but the non-stick base of the spring form tin will be scratched when the cake is cut,. You could invert the base plate when you assemble the tin, as this allows you to 'slide' the cake off the base and onto the stand and so prevent scratch damage. Stay safe and well.
Estrogen does not cause cancer, but it does feed some existing cancers. Your ovaries and your pancreas produce cancer. Soy is full of estrogen. If you eat cheesecake, enjoy real cream cheese. It’s not like you eat it every day, all day. Also, non dairy cream cheese is garbage.
Can we please have quantities in grams? How to measure crackers if we don't have the same kind or how to figure out the exact cream cheese quantity since we have it in containers and not in bars? Cups or grams would be ideal, looking forward to making this recipe, thank you!
