It's really what Bruce added to Wing Chun that makes his interpretations what they are. He incorporated western boxing, karate, judo, wrestling and jiu jitsu, in his fights.

This is no Wing Chun stuff. This is Bruce Lee showing off his skill set. Also known as Jeet Kune Do. Offcourse its choreographed and the moves are big and flashy for the theatre. But you see this man had skill and knows how and what fighting is. His phylosofies are futuristic. Always an inspiration to watch him move.

I enjoy watching martial artists watch Bruce Lee because you understand just how good and legit he was. You always get the people who say he wasn't really that good or he was only an actor. Like no, he knew what the hell he was doing.

Here in Melbourne, Australia, we were blessed to have Sifu William Cheung and his younger brother, Master David Cheung as teachers at their own famous and prestigious Wing Chun Academy In Corrs’ Lane. They were so respectful and friendly, but also extremely experienced in the authentic ways of Wing Chun. Now Sifu Cheung was a very dear friend of Bruce Lee as well as being his instructor of Wing Chun Style in his younger days. His favourite weapons were the lethal Butterfly Knives, and let me tell you Sifu Cheung was very dangerous with them too. A true master of his craft. Danny Inosanto visited Melbourne too for a show convention with Sifu Cheung. The highlight was those two martial arts legends, demonstrating their weapons against each other in a mock fight. I can tell you Sifu Innosanto was lightning quick with his stick fighting. They were just awesome.

one of the extras from this movie said that bruce was the first to introduce touching style because he wanted it to be more realistic and that a lot of the extras did not want to fight him and some got really hurt. even at the time there was a movie contract offered to anyone who could beat him for real.

What made Bruce Lee so superior to so many in martial arts is not just the physicality which was outstandingly strong, it was the esoteric aspect of his continuous training. He was a true student of the art of fighting. He wanted to make himself the most adept fighter possible. So this included the spiritual as well as philosophical aspect of his training. I believe this is what gave him that edge over most. He meditated quite often and used visualization techniques and all manner of aligning his mind body and soul into the most perfect fighting student. I say student not in a disrespectful way I mean he always was hungry to learn, to add to his already extensive repertoire of fighting skills. He never had the attitude that there was nothing more to learn. In fact it was the complete opposite. He was a mad man in that regard, of wanting to always learn and add to his fighting prowess. Bruce Lee is in my humble opinion the one person most responsible for spreading the love the desire for others to learn the art of fighting. He influenced so many varied people from all different sports and other styles etc. Bruce Lee will be forever the greatest to ever have graced this world with his skill. RIP Bruce and thank you for all of it!!

I was so surprised because His first attack is not elbow but back fist after a faint. his movement is so fast that I can't see it.

Can't believe you missed Mr. Jackie Chan in his several close-ups in the scene. He is the first student sitting down to Bruce' left when he walks in. Also, Bruce took the nunchuks from his shirt when he did the forward roll, after being kicked from behind. It helps that I've seen the movie a bunch of times, actually I had to play it back to pick it up, twice.

Like from the movie: No retreat no surrender Bruce's ghost says: "Your eyes must see in all directions, your ears shall be awear of all sounds and you must learn to feel every movement before it accures and be ready to react ". Thats how he hears the guys behind him, he expects it. Bruce Lee a time less Legend may he rest in peace.

I love this fight scene just the total domination of these guys so good. And he had the nunchuck in waist of his outfit. Bruces character went there looking for a real fight and came prepared for one.

Back when I was on the fencing team for school, my coach had the exact same body type as the sensei. He moved slow and fast at the same time. And had power you wouldn't expect.

This one was also one of my favorite Bruce Lee fight scenes. Around the 4:40 mark he gets to swinging the nunchucks, cracks everyone in the shins and pops up with a big ole sh*t eating grin on his face, as if to say, " how you fk'ers like me now" LOL 😂😂 Then destroys the boss and anyone else who gets in his way. I've always wanted to know just how many people actually got smacked doing these fight scenes. Doesn't matter who you are, mistakes happen.

That master was an actor in Hong Kong, and actually a judo master. I was a friend of his son in high school. One day he invited me over to his house where I saw pictures of Bruce Lee and his father taken during filming. So surprised because I had always been a big fan of Bruce Lee!! His father was teaching police officers in NY at the time after retiring in HK and moving to NYC.

Enter the Dragon - One of the best martial arts movies ever made. Certainly, the best of all of Bruce Lee's movies. PLEASE rent it, buy it, borrow it. It's a must-see for any martial artist. It also shows some really decent mixed martial arts, too.

This is a frightening fact but they had to slow down the film tremendously in order to see ....so all the speed that you're seeing is actually slowed down. Which demonstrates Bruce Lee absolutely off the charts speed and Athleticism that you have commented on in this great scene...and ability just in this clip. I'm in the exercise physiology field I have had the pleasure of meeting someone who saw obviously a demonstration around 1968 California he is tremendous exercise physiologist and author himself... With a super understanding of the fundamentals of physical movement hand eye speed coordination and basic martial arts ability and he said whatever you see on film doesn't even come close to the impressive level that he demonstrates in person. He explained that Bruce Lee was simply not visible for a long period of time moving and demonstrating and hitting objects He wasn't even at his peak at that time in 1968 in terms of what he could do with his martial art skills I think it probably comes down to a very basic principle if you want to beat Bruce Lee in a fight he has to be dead otherwise probably not a good idea to test one skills when he was alive.... Jim Kelly the great martial artist who plays WilliamsIn enter the dragon was a middle weight champion and he trained with Bruce Lee during the 3 months they film that film together. He describes Bruce Lee's abilities he talks on RU-vid about it unfortunately he passed away in 2013... Question for you sense How much would you have loved to have trained with Bruce between 1968 and 1973 or after if you could have lived..... Perhaps that desire is nearing off the charts as well.... It would have been absolutely amazing to have learned from him And to be smart enough not to challenge him.....

Dan inosanto mentioned in a rare interview that Bruce Lee had ultra instincts and he had a 3rd eye. His 3rd eye wasn’t on the back of his head, but it was on top of him look down on him and his surroundings like a bird view.

Wanted to address your question on if Wing-Chun style makes you better at not looking at what you hit. It is a hallmark of traditional Chinese martial arts at large to train to be multidirectionally aware. There is a master named Adam Hsu who wrote a book called "The Sword-Polisher's Record" in which he explains that kung-fu was created to answer this question: If I am surrounded by by ten men with weapons and intent to kill me, and I am unarmed, what do I do?

The nunchucks to the feet and leg scene was copied in the movie Kill Bill where the girl fights the Crazy 88 in the restaurant. But instead of nunchucks, she uses the sword to start slashing at the feet and legs.

YOu have to check out Fist of Legend with Jet Li as that was like a remake. Good film. Also Jet Li in Kiss of the Dragon where he takes out a whole black belt class with sticks.

Bruce knew that if he wanted to bring martial arts to the world in those days only way was films. If he had never done that even if he was one of the greatest fighters no one would even remember his name or inspire so many who followed him.

People forget how TaeKwon Do and Jhoon Rhee influenced Bruce with the high and combo/spinning kicks. Chuck Norris also recommended throwing high kicks on camera as it looks better and has more visual effect.

You can tell it's more of a ''rehearsed reaction'' vid...because of how he's constantly commenting, as opposed to watching it mostly silently and reacting to it as if he's actually seeing this for the VERY first time. He's seen this before, maybe more than a few times before this vid was recorded.

im fairly sure that the guy who played the main karate guy in the latter part of the fight also played the same type of role in the movie Hapkido - starring lady kung fu herself - angela mao (who worked with bruce on several movies). You would know her from the beginning of Enter th Dragon as the woman being chased by o'hara

did you know his fight scenes were slowed down he had to slow down his movements and the frames to 32fps. and bruce lee students have said that he was one of the fastest and strongest people. also he used to go into different dojo and challenge the students. and he was the first one to introduce full body contact sparring training headgear gloves shield etc. also he did not believe in styles like judo karate etc. he had his own art jkd also he was able to train his skills without telegraphing his movements. also ed parker the founder of american karate said that bruce lee was the only one that he seen that could pop the air when he punched. and a lot of ed parkers students went on to become students of bruce lees after they seen one of his demonstrations. because what he was doing was based on what was efficient in a street fights. not tournaments and he was always evolving.

If you see the background very carefully u probably spot the photo frame of Kano Jigoro.

Fun Fact: He had to slow down for the camera. He moved far too quick to capture his movements reliably for film. That is the kind of skill one builds when you train every single day of your life for both power and speed.

In these earlier movies you can see how much thinner Bruce was. After his fight with WJM he bulked up a lot. The difference in Enter The Dragon compared to this is pretty noticeable.

He is not doing Wing Chun in this fight scene. Please know this. It is a combination of Jeet Kune Do, other Martial Arts (maybe a little Wing Chun), and movie Kung Fu.

This clip has been edited because when I saw this movie in theater the Sensei kept trying grab Bruce. Bruce then started to use he called a "Stop Hit". He started hitting the Sensei with shin kicks which kept the Sensei at bay. And you see the Sensei thinking twice about getting within Bruce's kicking range!!!!

Meanwhile people have learned to attack one single person as a group. They run in circles around you (while carefully staying out of your reach) to get you tired. Eventually somebody will jump you from behind and only then another attacker will attack you from another angle. You also have to reckon that, while you take care of one attacker, another attacker will swing up a bottle behind your back in order swing it down on the other side of your face. Also, while in this scene the whole room is perfectly lit, these attackers will strike in the evening or at night, using corners with lots of different and/or unsteady lights. When the light is each time different, depending on in which direction you look, your reflexes don't work. However, Bruce Lee was so great he might have evon overcome such odds. Normal mortals don't.

You gotta watch the rematch where he kills him with his own sword.

Hi, just come across your channel, read loads of books on Bruce Lee apparently he used all the best bits from various martial arts to perfect his own style wing chun, ignored all the different styles which were unnecessary in one-one combat fighting, his fight scenes never get old. Have you reviewed any of Tony Jaa's movies yet? Big fan of Ong Bak and Warrior King 👍 and a film called "chocolate" is definitely worth watching is a 2008 Thai martial arts film starring Yanin "Jeeja" Vismistananda, incredible fight scenes.
