i used to always watch cooking shows as a kid for some reason. martin yan was always one of my favorites. after saturday ,orning cartoons, it was cooking shows.
After getting clean and sober in the late 80's I learned to cook watching Yan Can Cook and Ciao Italia. Good to see he is still using Circulon here in this series.
While I AM a fan of all the Martin Yan shows, including Yan Can Cook, THIS is the best of all, because of not only the dishes he makes (which are inspired by the dishes he watches prepared)... but the title says it all, it's all about the Chinatowns, and it's all about the travels.
Love Martin Yan :) Been watching his show since I was a kid with my parents. I recently started watching on youtube and I find watching him to be relaxing and entertaining and I love learning about the cultures he themes his episodes on. :)
Chef Yan is amazing. He's so knowledgeable and very entertaining. I loved Yan Can Cook where he was more silly and goofy, but still taught amazing techniques and dishes to this series where he was more educational and relaxed. The man is a legend.
Every Saturdays, I always watched cooking shows but I always have two favorite cooking shows and oddly enough Martin Yan is one and Simply Ming is the other, I'd like to say both of these chefs are amazing at cooking Chinese Dishes or other Asian dishes. If I had a chance to cook with them, I WOULD!!!!
I loved Martin when I was younger and I appreciate what he does more now I want to try and cook it all But in the middle of no where it's hard to get all of the ingredients
I think I saw only ONE episode of his older show “Yan can cook” sometime in the 90s. Might have been a rerun..But he fascinated me so much even though I saw that one episode playing randomly on a TV channel I can’t remember, and now that I can see more of him, I think I might do some research on him!
That family banquet in Hawaii -- there was enough food to feed an army. I hope that someone helped grandmother with the cooking. (I would be willing to help dispose of the leftovers. :) )
Are you the Yan's can cook that I used to watch when I was In Saudi Arabia way back 2000? It is like a show that you have audience to taste. I loved that show. More power God bless💝😊
"How come when I stir-fry, so much liquid comes out? Because you don't stir it enough." So basically, you keep stirring until there's no trace of liquid, that's when you stop?
The use of nonstick cookware shows how dated these videos are. I love Martin Yan but I wish he was using carbon steel cookware without Teflon, but back then it was considered healthy.
