Same here. Grew up in the 90's, and my grandparents got me into country music. Man, I miss the days of working with my grampa out in the shed, riding on the tractor and combine with him. Listening to some great country music! 98% of today's stuff can't even comare at all. And the stuff that can, "country" radio never plays because it's too country. Lol

i loved late 80s early 90s country... my dad called it pop then though as he grew up in the 50s and 60s with that generation of country...other then people like jason aldean and a few others nowdays he and i both agree its gone to seed now..

I’m 40...this song brings me back and gives me some serious nostalgia. Life was so simple, the things we took for granted back then are things (people) we are desperately holding onto now. Life comes at you fast.

I'm 43, I don't think we took anything for granted. We were simply young and carefree - didn't know enough to understand how precious the good times we had around us back then. Don't beat yourself too hard. But definitely be thankful for what you did have, all those fun memories....I know I'm thankful for all the fun carefree opportunities I was fortunate enough to take part in. And I'm petty sure we didn't live and grew up in a perfect world back then either.

Her music is timeless. What an amazing a crystal clear and pure voice she has. I have seen two of my other favorite singer/musicians - Alison Krauss & Mary Chapin Carpenter - live in concert. Cannot wait to see this amazing talent perform in person.

Everything about this song is perfect. The singing both lead and harmonizing vocals, all the instruments, the melody, the mandolin, the unique bass playing, everything. This is a song you love from the first note the first time you hear it.

I got to sit a few feet away from her when she did this live in our radio studio back in the late 90s. Imagine this without all the production, the video, and just an acoustic guitar for accompaniment. It was amazing. The woman could peel paint from the ceiling with her voice.

I remember when this came out, back when I believed in love. She has the voice of an angel. Amazing how jaded you get as you are older. I miss my naive, happy days when I thought love was real. At least I know love is real with my kiddos, but I no longer think there is such a thing as a "soul mate".

We are compatible with any number of people but couples don't stay together long enough to rub the rough edges off of each other to improve their fit together. The problem is not that love has ceased to (or never did) exist. The problem is that those who claim to want it don't look any deeper than the surface level (not skin) of who a person is. They don't take the time to find out if they *really* found what (and who) they're looking for, because it's too much work. It took me 7 years of bad bullshit "relationships" to learn that lesson.

I remember Martina singing at the Phoenix Center in Pontiac Michigan. I couldn't see her, but was blown away by her voice. Probably around 91 or 92 at the Art, Beats, and Meat Festival.

I played guitar in the late 1990s for Rhonda Gunn, the artist who originally recorded this for Warner Bros. in 1991. I think the original is on youtube now. It was great song for both artists.

Till this day i'm thankful to this one girl who introduced me to this amazing singer Martina McBride and this song here. You can tell Composer Richard Jacques took inspiration from this song here for his Soundtrack of the Dreamcast game "Metropolis Street Racer" as it sounds a lot like the song "I still believe".
