I brought my wife this year to Audio Advice Live. We had spend a couple of hours listening to the Nautilus, B&W Signature series, the Sonus Faber Strativari G2, Serafino G2 (loved those) and Sonettos-all amazing! We walked into the Martin Logan Room with the B100's playing with the 8 inch Abyss and my wife said "I like the sound of these...." You know what-so did I. I have the 100's on order and will stop by Audio Advice in Charlotte this week to pre order 2 of the Abyss. So nice to have met Andrew.

I was a bit surprised to see this model is made in China. I JUST converted my Dynamo 1600X to forward firing after having it down firing for a number of years. I noted on the back plate, it is made in Canada just like my Classic 9 electrostatics. 🙂.
Wow! Great styling! And fantastic pricing! The only thing missing is a satin black finish I prefer the matte or satin blacks over the gloss black. I think these subs will do very well and Martin Logan would be a great brand choice for the new Obsessed Theatre. 👍🏻🔈
Michael, you've been a subwoofer guy for years and you maybe were not aware. The app. for the Dynamo series has been out a long while now (6 years). Not only featuring ARC, but also the most useful features for subwoofer adjustments on the market that I know of. The tone sweep is just one of them. I have two Cambridge Audio X201 subs in my office - that are very similar, except 6.5 inch driver and two passive radiators - I wanted them tiny. But mine have a fraction of the power of the Abyss and of course smaller drivers. That said, the output these tiny cubes are capable of is just impressive, so I assume the Abyss are way better than the size might suggest. Look forward to some analytical reviews of these somewhere.
I know this is meant to introduce the new lines but thought they would make mention of the Balanced Force 210 and 212 and if they are continuing going forward.
Theoretically, won't the Dynamo 12 extend lower in-room than the Abyss? Passive radiator designs generally employ aggressive high-pass filters, resulting in something like a 6th order roll-off below tuning. Presumably the Dynamo doesn't need that to the same extent

After the spending the last day looking at stereo integrity and Harbottle subs this vid just doesn't have the same impact it would of had last week. as consumers we are simply too spoilt these days
I was just about to skip past this video not impressed with the price point 8” Abyss knowing there are a few other options with almost the same specs at less than half the price!! UNTIL you went over all of the features on the back of the amp!!! Test tones!? Speaker level AND XLR AND WIRELESS?! And it comes WITH the sub AND it has a good app?! Wow!!?!! 🎉 nice!! Ps. Please state RMs power or say “up to” X watts. Please. 🎉
If you mean visually, that's subjective; if you mean from a performance standpoint for home theater, the RP lineup of Klipsch subs are highly impressive. The 16 incher got a big thumbs up in Audioholics testing. I do want to see tests of the Abyss 10, with dual passive radiators it will probably perform beyond its size, but I'd be surprised if it beat the Klipsch flagship, with its 800 watts rms and gigantic size. Downside being, of course, that it's absolutely ginormous and won't fit in many homes. But these are quoted at going down to 22 hz; the Klipsch 16 is capable of under 15 hz. Nothing trumps size in subs.
I don't love it when people say it's a 1000 watt amplifier when that is the peak wattage. In this case on the Abyss 8 it's a 500 watt continuous / 1000 watt peak. Personally I'd prefer you say which you are referring to or say them both but just saying 1000 watts, as in this video, seems misleading. I don't listen to a lot of adds for speakers like this. I usually just read specs and watch/listen to reviews. He goes on to reference the peak wattage for the rest of the sub amps as well. Maybe it's common for people doing adds to reference the peak wattage only. I don't know.
I agree. I myself am only concerned with RMS ratings. This was a new release at Audio Advice Live so I wasn’t familiar with any of the specs of the products shown. Reviews for these products will come down the road when they are in production.
