There was a time in early 2000s , competition between 800 and Omni was quite high, every middle class family thought of these two options....Alto came in way later

My father owns a 2002 model. And I agree to everything Faisal said about this legend 😂. Our omni is now 20 years young and it never put us in trouble but it has run very little in 20 years, just around 72,000 kilometers. Now it has gotten the permission for another 5 years so the fun isn't going to end 😂.

I remember travelling in an Omni up the Kolli hills road (yep the same one with 75+ hairpin bends that loses out #1 position it's counterpart in Gata loops Ladakh 😀. Was supposed to get a Tavera that unfortunately broke down and got saddled with the Omni. Yo my utter surprise the Omni did make it up the hills without much fuss 👍. Ofcourse I had a proper feeling of living on the "edge" during the ride up and down the hills 😀😀😀

Ciaz has electronic tailgate release but because of poor quality it sometimes opens completely making it feel like full powered tailgate 2. Wagonr has cooled steering. Might be shocking but the AC vents of driver side points at the steering cooling it down

Maruti omni was the best selling van for about thirty five years. A van with the most versatile nature. It remained the king of its segment with no competitors. Wish that msil launches maruti omni with better safety features such as bonnet such as the Toyota vans.

Personally I love the concept of the omni. Lightweight, RWD which makes it great for bad roads. I have seen examples running more than 20 years with 250k kms on the dash. Reliable I must say.

This was our first car and we used it for 12 years...there are so many memories with it even i learnt driving on it and i must there is a way to drive Omni and very few can drive it..... selling it was a very emotional decision which was worst like losing someone dear...miss it and would wish to drive it again someday ❤️

Ohh I love this car would like to buy one just for fun.. Faisal bro do drive a Tata winger platinum Turbo if you get a chance. It’s a forgotten gem. I had one until a few years ago and it worked like a closed pick up truck for us. Amazing underrated van.

I see about 25 Omnis picking and dropping children every single morning. My morning isn't good until I hear this legend. Btw my father owned it to. The 90's version. Sold it in 2014. Still it brings some warm memories. I am going to collect some of the weird and nice cars by your influence in the future. Love you brother ❤.

When I was a kid in 80s, this was revolutionary. Compared to ambassador it felt luxurious. The engine as I remember was very smooth. When I saw it first, I was so perplexed as where was the engine 😂. Later I found it was under the seat and understood, aisa bhi hota hai 😂

It was my family's first car 1987 Omni white. I spent my childhood in this car.. right from having lunch and driving it sitting on dad's lap when I was 5 year old.. back in 2012 had to scrap it as the entire body was rusted.. Engine lagged and had low pickup when climbing on highways.. I remember had it repainted in 2005 to peacock green color just like the van from Scooby-Doo series. It was a gem of a car. I still regret to scrap it as I was a kid didn't had much knowledge about restoration that time. Now we have Innova

We have a 1988 Maruti Omni, actually before 1988 She was called Maruti Van and in front side just in the middle of the 2 Round Headlights MARUTI is Emblemed from 1988 MSIL changed the Emblem to OMNI. I am from Kolkata and Reg No was WNW XXXX with SUZUKI Engine. My dad sold the car in 1995 for 50K. Lot of Memories and till date I am in search of a good condition first generation Maruti Omni with Round Headlights but very hard to find, maximum cars front body have been replaced with 1998 model Square Headlight body and these cars Come with Carburettor engine and CB point ignition system...no ECM no Electronics. Currently I own a 99 model Carburettor engine Maruti 800.

The Omni we owned in the 2000's took my dad's life in 2005 in an accident which wasn't worth being a life killer, changing the fate of our family. I wish my dad had bought some other car (not this unsafe van).

No matter How much fun you make of this car ...but in city traffic this is the most easy to drive vehicle...we had all of the omni generations since 1985 to 2017...

My Mama had this car and he was sort of a rash driver. Me as well as many others had their heads banged on the top while sitting in the rear as it was an 8 seater and wheels are just below the rear seat.
