The Maruti Vitara Brezza is the highest selling compact SUV in India and it is known for its practicality, fun-to-drive and efficient nature. The Tata Nexon is the newest offering in the compact SUV segment and it has received a very positive response from the market. We recently did a very detailed comparison between these compact SUVs and the end result was very close, with both the cars being good packages.
This time, we decided to do a drag race between the two cars and the Nexon won. The Vitara Brezza has a very strong mid-range but the Nexon gets a more powerful engine and is quicker even in the 0-100 km/hr run. We even switched drivers to double check the result, and it was the Nexon that won every time.

completed my 10K Km of TATA Nexon diesel top model in 2 months , just amazing experience , car feel firm high speed turns as SUV its just marvelous job by designers , averaging 18 in city , best part modes and sport mode is something else , just try once you will know that !!! I can flaunt here that i bought Tata Nexon :) I Just had a 1200 km trip to Amritsar over weekend, and i can easily say Nexon is way better product that Brezza.

I Did feel the plush quality when i test drove it but my only doubt was its long term reliability, being a tata, as so many people have been saying about this and that niggle including our well known reviewer kartikeya singhee, in his comparison video which seriously deters me from buying tata but i guess things have changed at tata. I have driven Nexon and breeza both. Nexon's primarily turbo boost after 1500 rpm is really very strong. It just take off pretty easily.

Watch from 1.53 to 1.58 . He slotted the second gear at 2rpm and the speed was only 20kmph. Next they show the close ups which is really different from the earlier one. What I understand is, in the race that nexon won, this guy didn’t change gear properly. Do a proper fair one. I am not taking sides .

Yeah just noticed it. Brezza guy changed to 2nd gear at about 2000 rpm just when the turbo was starting to spool up. That's a failed start. Wonder why they didn't redo the race!

EcoSport is a pure drivers car. Even the driving character of both these cars are different. EcoSport is clearly the winner anyday. Nexon is a good value for money crossover.

Digvijai Sehrawat we do multiple runs and shifting at the redline isnt always the best practice in diesel cars because the torque curve is different in both cars and that’s why we shift gears when we know the torque delivered will be more. If you see our GoPro shoots you’ll notice the different timings because all interior and exterior shots are done multiple times. Finally we also rely on oir Vbox data to check accurate performance results and timings of both cars. Hope that helps !

Maruti is like a pimp. It doesn't have shame to make atleast one car with its own technology. It just purchases cars from Suzuki, reduces it's build quality and safety features to get the maximum milage and minimal manufacturing cost. Believe me guys in few years maruti as a brand will be obsolete. Majority of the new generation youth prefer owning brands like Volkswagen. Ford, Toyota and other brands now days ppl want quality, power and brand value very niche segment ppl will buy cheap brands like maruti which will keep making tin ka dhabba like the obove to get maximum mileage n zero safety. So it’s high time competition has gone way ahead now even tata is back in the race with some great stuff. So it’s final nail in the coffin for maruti brand.

And just don't spit out something that you dont even know😂 dude, cars like swift are world best sellers and a good quality product. The new swift has a rating of 4 stars in euro ncap test. Even the ford EcoSport has the same 4 stars euto ncap rating. So they both are on par there. And so please just dont assume something in your head and publish it right away. Do some research atleast 😂 And btw polo sells an average of 1100 per month while swift itself sells nearly 20000 per month. Anand Singh I have TD both. I am very sure that Nexon diesel is much quicker than Ecosport diesel. Diesel Nexon is the best in segment. Ecosports TDCI 5 year old engine is no match to Nexon's Revotorque.

Himanshu Tripathi Weight doesn't matter. What matters is how you tune engine. Do you know that Polo is among the heaviest of the hatchbacks in India but even with it's 1.2 L diesel heart it manages to roast every single car in its segment. Low end Torque does the trick to give you momentum.

Not a fair drag race motorbeam the brezza was not launched perfectly there is no wheel spin and u shifted gears first without hitting the readline and do race again .

l2azor07 Even in Zest and Bolt, both the diesel and petrol has same tachometer and has reading upto 8k. It continues.

2:15 And nexon is not even first serviced yet redlines at 3-4k rpm even in sport mode. Once they unlock it, it easily goes upto 6k.

Cant we have some straight 1k drag with flagged start? Could be neater... with all sorts of cars in same brackets... even 60 kmph or 100 kmph timings!
