The term Dandy wasn't (I don't think) a gay thing. I've heard the term used once or twice to refer to men who worked generally blue collar occupations, but on Sundays for church/family dinner or Saturday night on the town it was tailored suit, cuff links, tie pins, shined shoes. They may have toiled for their living, but knew elements of style.

You know I remember on one video made by clownfish TV I forget exactly which one, where Geeky Sparkles, the wife chick, said and she seemed rather pissed by this mentality. She said that nobody is insulting these creators when they say they don't like their content, so why, she said, are the creators being so hostile and so openly venomous towards other people, she found this surprising and said it was needlessly offensive to the fans that they would be so angry. Well, what I think that she and some other people fail to realize is that it's not just that these people are writing content that people don't like and this guy kind of sees what's going on, too, I think, but these people are basically writing fanfics and self inserts. One of the most obvious and kind of most disturbing was the comic I Am Not ot Starfire where the central character was this squat, fat woman in all black with a bowl cut and, when you see the creator, she's a squat, fat woman in all black with a bowl cut. The incident from the recent Spider-Man game where the woman literally drew her own face in the place of Mary Jane is an almost identical example. These people are just creating self inserts, they're writing fanfics, and when you criticize their content you're not just criticizing the content or asking them to change you're criticizing them, you're criticizing their personal "self" for all practical purposes. That's the issue, it's that these people are basically turning comic books into My Immortal. Only frankly, My Immortal is better written, because at least it has some grasp on what would be a functional story.

They didn't use to. I use to buy wolverine and batman comics, two of the most masculine characters in comics, especially wolverine and all his battles, feats and women he slept with. Now wolverine is a bi-sexual middle of a polygamous relationship with cyclops and Jean Grey... men aren't allowed to be traditional men anymore.

I don’t understand why they do this to characters now. In the past there have been a good many characters that could be perceived as gay. Batman and Robin are probably one of the older examples of this. Nobody cares what a characters sexual preference is.
