Ghost machine crew is really awsome best books even better than current Marvel and DC books. My favorite writers and artists are making cool stuff. Geoff Johns, Jason Fabok, Gary Frank all are my favorite. These are the writers and artists that have talent and deserve respect in the industry but unfortunatly the big guns won't allow them to make cool and great books. Hope Geoff Johns and the Ghost Machine crew become successful.

@natemachado9113
@natemachado9113 3 месяца назад
So I've read the 4 issues out of Blood Hunt. Is this pointless? No. If we go buy Wes's interpretation most times everything is pointless. Having said that it is clear this series has many working parts that are not laid out well. Also I would argue this should have been 6 issues long not 5. I think an additional issue would have given Mackay a little bit more leeway to construct the story on a clearer pathway. I am not going to comment on the tie ins as I am not bothering with those. So its feasible key things are going on in those issues that clear up points not found in the main title. Which would not be good for the reader, but hey its entirely possible given how much scope Marvel gave to this story. I agree that the new villains are pretty much relegated to the side after doing the initial job of taking out the Avengers. Which makes any confrontation at the end muted for the reader to anticipate. The reveal of Varnae as the true villain was cool. I like that alot as its a villain nobody would have seen coming, yet makes sense with the premise of the story. That gets a thumbs up. But the way its revealed is so flat and uneventful Mackay just kicks the legs out of a cool aspect of the story and gives the reader no reason to impacted by it. Oh and before I forget the temple was teleported in by Wakanda technology under the direction of the possessed Black Panther. It didn't just appear out of nowhere for no reason as Wes implies. While I am a fan of Dr Doom, I was much more intrigued by how Doctor Strange was going to deal with dire situation he was put in with Clea by his side. Rather then running to Doom who you know is not going to anything without getting something out of it. Did we see Dr Strange pursue any other avenues before relegating himself to having to turn a villain for help? Again not reading tie-ins so maybe its there maybe it isn't. I find the Avengers rather irrelevant to the story as well. Why were they needed? This is clearly a horror based super hero style story. Why not keep it in the realm of the heroes it would apply too? Its as if by using them, Spider-Man, some X-Men, etc we can make this into a worthwhile company wide event, when it fact if you boil it down its really a Blade story. It's like trying to take the X-Tinction Agenda story from X-Men in the late 1980's and pigeon holing Dr Strange, Spider-Man, Avengers West Coast, etc to make it a company line event as opposed to the simple X-Men story it was. Without knowing the ending this would have been perfect for a Moon Knight, Dr Strange, Blade mini-crossover event in my view. You could have kept it more focused, while controlling the pacing better, and keeping it in the realm of characters where a story line like this matters. So useless no. Company wide crossover no. A story that would been better served with the sphere of characters it revolves around, hell yes. That's my thoughts. WTF20.

There is no purpose in any of these events now. The sole reason is to get as much money out of the reader as possible and it doesn't matter whether the event has any purpose or ramifications. As a DC reader there is very few events that i have enjoyed and this goes back to COIE. I just don't think they are worth the time and interruption to titles. For Action Comics, I like that Lobo realizes that he made a mistake in joining Brainiac’s side before he freed Clark and told him to save the world and his family from Brainiac. I also like that Conner used his tactile telekinesis to destroy the Brainiac Queen. I even like that Lex told Clark that he did all of this so that he can save his daughter from harm. Overall, this comic is great, and I hope the final arc ends on a good note! For the Lena Luthor back up, I like that we get to see Lena’s backstory from between Superman saving Lena from Futuresmiths Brainiac and that present day and that Lex and Lena worked together to defeat Futuresmiths Brainiac. I also like that Lex did whatever it takes to protect Lena from harm. This shows that Lex has changed and that he would make up his mistakes by saving Lena. Overall, this is a great backup! For Flash, I like that the Flash Family tried to do whatever it takes to save Wally from the Arc Angles and the Crown of Thawnes while Barry (and the Flash Family) is fighting Bat-Fraud (whom, unbeknownst to them, is an old friend). The only criticism I can say is being a prelude to Absolute Power because Waller appearing in almost every Dawn of DC book. Overall, this comic is interesting and okay. For Absolute Power: Ground Zero, here is what I have to say. For the first stage, I like that we get to see conflict between Jay and Nia, since Jay realized that his mother was killed and his country was invaded by Waller. Also, I was right that Jay is going to get vengeance that might lead to him becoming a villain (or a lawful neutral character) because of what happened in Dream Team. At least we get to see Jay being like this instead of being seen as Jon’s boyfriend because him being Jon’s boyfriend is boring, bland, useless, and forgettable (NOTHING ELSE). For the second stage, I find it shocking that Waller used Jon Starr to build the Failsafes to prepare for Absolute Power. For the third and final stage, it’s surprising that Waller became a mother figure to the Brainiac Queen and used her to prepare for Absolute Power after spending twenty simulated years with her. Even though Absolute power (like all of the events since Dark Crisis) will fail, this comic is interesting because we her to see the prelude for what’s coming in July. For Harley Quinn, it’s just Harley fighting then teaming up with Tim Drake. Also, Bernard Dowd reference. The only good thing about this comic is Harley telling Tim that nobody cares about Bernard because he’s useless and unnecessary (NOTHING ELSE). That’s it. For Superman, I like that the Superman Family (including Lex, Lena, and Livewire) were able to defeat Brainiac and save the bottled cities before Lex sacrificed himself to diminish Brainiac’s intelligence. I find it sad and shocking that Lex had no memory of who he is. Let’s hope that Clark and Lena restore all of Lex’s mind and memories so that he can continue as a reformed person and not ruin character growth. Overall, this is a great comic and a great finale to the House of Brainiac! For Green Arrow, I like that Oliver had to spend his final time with his family before he decided to work with Waller because he has no choice. I also like that Roy and Lian have father-daughter time by becoming superheroes and save Chesire. Same thing with Conner becoming the Green Arrow again. Let’s hope that the Green Arrow Family realize that Oliver is a double agent and that they’ll defeat Waller together in Absolute Power. Overall, this comic is great! For Leah Williams’ Supergirl, I like that Karen and Crush worked together to defeat the Czarnians and save the Cloonrad Holiday Gals from harm. The only thing I can criticize is Karen telling Crush that Harley Quinn is one of her closest friends, even though they hardly knew each other and that the New 52 Power Girl is one of Harley’s friends. The missed opportunity should’ve involve Karen telling Crush about her gaining family, including her pre-Crisis Earth-Two cousin Superman, Helena Wayne Huntress, and the JSA, since Crush’s family includes Lobo, her adoptive parents, and the Adam Glass Teen Titans. Also, Symbio cameo, in which I hope he encounters Karen in the date arc or when this series gets cancelled. Overall, this comic is weak, but okay. For The Brave and the Bold, here is what I have to say. For the Nightwing and Deadman backup, I like that Dick and Boston were able to save the Red Shash and defeat Hotspot and plan on traveling to the End of the Road to find and save someone. For the Booster Gold backup, I thought it was interesting that Michael saw what happened when dinosaurs survived the meteor that hits earth. This includes all of dinosaurs being involved in historical events, eating vegan food, and affording cheap apartments (which is a lot better than us seeing expensive apartments in our time). This happened before he decided to go back in time and fix history. Overall, this is a good backup. For the Barry Allen backup, I like that Barry spend his morning teaming up with Superman and Batman before returning to his house to be with Iris. Also, Thawne return, showing that this backup is set in 2020. For the Guy Gardner backup, I like that Guy and Bruce had to do a lot of banter before Bruce needed Guy’s help when a mysterious alien did something with his mind. For Spectacular Spider-Men, I like that Peter and Miles realized that they’re in a simulation thanks to Parker Luck and Shift. It’s nice that Greg Weisman knows that Miles is in a relationship with Tiana and that Miles’ feelings for Kamala shows that he wasn’t there when she made her sacrifice last year and that he’ll always see her as a friend who got his back. Let’s hope that Peter and Miles will escape the simulation and deal with Arcade and find out that Hammerhead is the one pulling the strings. Overall, this comic is great! For Spider-Gwen, it’s interesting that Peter, Miles, and Cindy arrive at Gwen’s apartment to comfort her before they left after Gwen told them what’s going on and why she was in the main Marvel universe. Also, Gwen fighting Kracen, who is wearing a digital suit of the Chameleon. Overall, this comic is fine, but it needs to have something. For SSM, I like that Doc Ock’s old arms helped Peter deal with fighting a mind-controlled Aunt May, Robbie, and J. Jonah before he was able to defeat Doc Ock and save the world. It’s disappointing that this comic (and this series) ended with Doc Ock having no memory of his time as the Superior Spider-Man, Anna Marie (who pretended that she was mind-controlled) convincing Doc Ock to undo his mistakes, Supernova being free and leaving to do something, and Bailey being free from Doc Ock’s control (so that he’ll do something in his own series). Overall, this comic is okay, but disappointing. For Symbiote Spider-Man 2099, it’s interesting that Miguel and Kron have to do some brotherly bonding such as dealing with Strange before Miguel realized that Kron is a bad influence on him and that Gabriel tried to remind Miguel all the good he’s done before Kron killed Gabriel, causing Miguel and Kron to have a fight. Let’s hope that the final issue will be interesting. Overall, this comic is good! For the Thanos Annual, I like that Thanos encountered the three stone bearers (including Star) at a barista before he fought them, remove the reality stone from Star, and left to see what happens. For the backup, I like that we get to see Phil Coulson be resurrected so that Marvel can do something good with him because he has potential. For Giant-Size Little Marvels, here is what I have to say. For the Captain America part, I like that we see Steve trying to have a group after his friends decided not to do his script thing. For the Iron Man part, I like that Tony judged the suits that his friends made before he was impressed by Hulk’s Iron Man suit before it as accidentally destroyed by him. For the Rocket and Groot part, I like that Rocket and Groot traveled all throughout outer space to try to get the death stone for the Collector before they realized that the death stone is a sandwich the Collector wants to try and eat. For the villians part, I like that Doctor Doom summoned all the villains to have their game night (since villains have other things to do aside from fighting heroes because they get to have personal lives) before they compared notes. Skottie Young has done an excellent job with the Little Marvels. Overall, this comic is nice and good! For Grommets, I like that Rick and Brian started their friendship by telling each other about their personal lives while eating at a Taco Bell before they went skating with the Jens and deal with their every day lives in their town. It’s nice and interesting!

RedCoat - I have always said more folk characters (and pantheon gods) should appear in superhero comics because they would interact with each other. Long as it isn't overdone it would make the genre better. For some hero or villain characters it would be more common than for others; for some it may be rare or even none existing, and for others it would be common or maybe even often, but for most hero or villain IPS, sprinkling in folk characters and pantheon gods would be an addition to me if done right.

I decided to skip Bloodhunt because I'm so tired of Marvel big events. House Of Brainiac ended very poor in my opinion. The czarnians died so easy in Brainiac Queen's hand. Brainiac Prime wanna to create your own family is odd too. And I'm pretty sure that Luthor losting your memories is the door to him step back into villany again in the future. I hope that Brainiac Queen can be best utilized in Absolute Power event. She was defeated very quick on Action Comics.

Symbiote 2099 is really dull. Davids dialog is fine but the plot itself is so uninteresting. Miguel has been conflicted since issue two and outside of that Nothing actually happened.Doom did nothing Spiderman and Venom 2099 do nothing. The issue is a super fast read because theres a lack of substance. Sure its the best 2099 we've got in a while but that doesn't mean much. Its just another symbiote story that could have happend.with any character. If you like classic 2099 and wanna support David pick it up. I love Bloodhunt ...for the art. Pepe Laraz pages look great to me. I agree with you on the story. Before Avengers, I considered myself a mark for Jed McKay. Avengers is bland. And as much as I love how it looks, Bloodhunt reads like a forgettable story arc. Conceptually I like the Blood Coven and the Temple of the First Blasphemy, but there is ZERO backstory or buildup to any of McKay's creations. It's just shallow. I don't think it's terrible, but it's incredibly middling. If not for the art, I wouldn't even bother..McKay is a hack.

The reason no one is reading the indies, Drew, is because they're not going to last. If they were, they wouldn't be 'Indie'. They'd have their own companies, not using Crowdfunding. Once these new characters have completed their runs, they'll be gone and no one will remember them, these stories mean nothing in the long term and are not going to matter. Unlike the lore that Spider-Man and Batman have built up over the past 60-80 years.

Sure, have fun with all the mediocre stories DC and Marvel keep printing. There's nothing wrong with a fantastic story that's only 6, 12, or 25 to maybe 300 issues long. Whenever a manga or comic book keeps going and several terrible creators get involved, what's the point? I prefer reading (and re-reading) good ass indies and runs by folks who give their best efforts.
@Slitheringpeanut
@Slitheringpeanut 3 месяца назад
@@Martin_TheCollector I'm not talking about myself. I was talking about the general comic reader. They're not going en masse to the Indies. Sure, the Creators are making bank, but a couple million per crowdfunding attempt, doesn't actually move the needle compared to Disney or WBD's failures. And the creator owned comics get their money just from the same 3-4K people who cycle around them, of which I am one. We do not represent the few million comic readers left. Who want their ongoing stories, want their continuity, don't want 'flash in the pan' one shots. Indies are called 'Indies' for a reason.
