I've been running less and less allies in my builds. More and more scenarios punish you for chump blocking now. Fun trying to figure out how to survive and use your allies to there fullest potential.
I think it helps too that a lot of new heroes have ways to mitigate damage, but the expanded card pool is also really nice to find ways not to hide behind your meatshields-- I mean allies.
Cool list! I have to admit I thought for sure Gamora was going to being on your list. She's the first hero I think of for this since I use very few allies with Gamora as it is. I'm curious if you think she would be close to these for your list since she's constantly doing damage and thwarting with her hero abilities.
Yeah I mainly play TS and try not to lean on chump blocking unless i have to as it gets a bit repetitive otherwise IMO. I do find Venom and Spider woman good for this and although not played any hard stuff I with it I recall Spiderham was good TS and I don't recall a high ally reliance? Over the years they have corrected a bit to counter chumping as it's very strong but it's not popular I think as nerfing a popular strat never is in anything so they have to be careful. IIRC one of the collector phases was one of the first very anti chump and disliked as a result? I see the new rules update is out today also
Awesome video loving the top 10’s. An idea for the future idk if you’ve done this or not but the top 10 best two handed heroes to play together would be really cool there are so many hero combos you can exploit
I think Nelson has done a video like that recently, though I am interested. I am actually planning to do a video on every hero's best pairings which will be a nightmares to make but should be super informative. Great idea
Top video, as always, but i would have given the #2 to venom just because the reptilian part of my brain can’t tollerate wasting Cap’s Alterego ability. And while i understand the motivation, you can’t spell Magick without abusing hulk 😝
Us Deadpool’ player keep getting backhanded. Justice for Deadpool! On a another note, since you’re separating Web Warrior for having too good ally, xmen with their ally and support should also be a mentioned. The list doesn’t have bunch of them so it’s fine.
Justice for Deadpool? Sorry, I prefer Protection The Web-Warrior ally thing wasn't the only reason they were excluded, but some of the X-Men were definitely excluded for a similar reason. Totally could have mentioned them.
I assume you are only really considering solo since MP the other players can pick up slack. This is something I'd like to see gameplay of. I haven't played without ANY allies in my deck but I have played games where I haven't played any, as must many a rusher. I like Venom with just Groot and X23 with just the Prof.
Partially for solo, partially actually also still for MP. Really any time where your other players aren't specifically deck-building to cover what you lack. But solo is definitely the primary one though I think it carries through to 2-player unless, again, someone is building to cover your back entirely. The no-allies gameplay idea is fun. Maybe I'll try and do that in one of my next 2-3 gameplay vids somewhere.
Really tough one to get your head around, as allies do make every deck better. Also the question of solo/multiplayer changes your perspective, but with that aside I would mention other options: Ms Marvel pushing events/defense Gamora also fits the above mold Wolverine’s claws and healing also suggest a non ally build could work. I might try a few out and see how they actually work in practice. Who is worst without allies? Cyclops? Rogue? Storm? Outside of Xmen Hulk?(certainly in solo)
Wolverine 'Pool with the 'Pool Healing Factor makes me happy. Healing for 4 every turn feels like cheating. Star-Lord and Hawkeye were the first to spring to my mind as the worst without allies
Two that are easy to play without allies for me are Black Widow and Domino. BW cancels out alot of the bad stuff, does damage each time, and can defend and attack. (What's that Loki? 4 boost icons? Why thank you, I will just defend your base then ATTACKROBATICS!!!!!!!!!!! The do one more damage then attack on my turn) Domino is great because she has a base of 3 plus up to another 3 with just her own cards. Then also has her pistols that can do damage if she had to defend and couldn't ready and can cancel an encounter card for another if it was too much. Also looking at Bishop I think he will like Jubilee. Nothing is more frustrating than discarding after a hit to get resource cards only to discard his suit. I would really love a video on strategies to use to keep the heroes alive with out chump block or using Protection Edit: Viva La Widow’s Bite!!!!!!!!!!
Hahaha the edit! Black Widow was a contender for my list actually. And that video idea is good, I think a few other people have asked for similar. I should probably make it some time...
