Glad to hear from a fellow compatriot! 😆 I followed a similar path. Once upon a time Champions was just one of many games, and slowly but surely I stopped playing everything else. Now I’m at the point where I could’ve even name 5 board games that came out this year, and that’s just so crazy to me lol

I really like that mod for the entities, and I actually take it a step further and just chuck them all into the encounter deck at the beginning of the game and treat them like an encounter set. Only once in awhile, and only if I’m using the Infinity Gauntlet, but it’s fun when I do! I have not tried that particular combo! But I accept your challenge and I will do that on a video sometime! I can’t promise when but I guarantee you’ll see it at some point and I’ll try not to make it too long from now. Thanks for the idea! That sounds really fun but very challenging lol. Gives me a good excuse to try to build a really strong deck I’m so excited for you be getting Drax, Venom, and SP//dr!! Those are all top tier heroes for me and sooooooo much fun! @@GetUpandGame I'd definitely have to say Wolverine. I've never been a Wolvie guy, but this character looks SO FUN. I'm a big fan of risky characters, but I don't know if the hits to his HP are going to feel like that. We'll see! BTW, Star-Lord is my favourite Champions hero to play. I LOVE that dude's strategy (my group groans every time I take more and more encounters!)

@@ryanmorris323 hahaha yes! I feel very similarly towards Wolverine. I always thought he was a little overrated in the comics, though I recently rewatched the 90’s cartoon and that helped me to see why everyone loved him so much. That definitely made me a bigger Logan fan. But either way his play style looks amazingly fun. I also love Star-Lord so I know exactly what you mean!

I already own all of LOTR and Arkham so I would consider myself an 'experienced' player, so I am opening everything, putting them in binders, and going to Marvel DB to deckbuild. Im starting with Rhino, Klaw, and Ultron who I havent beat yet, and then from there, I dont know!

Thanks for the sub and the kind words!! Haha I know what you mean. It was a very sad day for me when they announced LOTR was going on “hiatus”. But we got 10 years out of that, and there’s way more source material for Marvel so I’m optimistic we’ll get at least the same amount of content. That’s totally fair! I’ll admit my multiplayer experience is very limited. I play solo the vast majority of the time, I get a couple two player games in a month, and my only 4 player games occurred at Con of Heroes in May. And at the convention we were all very focused and very experienced. So it’s completely possible my opinion here is pretty uninformed lol. And I knew that when I made this point as I’ve seen a lot of similar statements as yours in other places. 🙂 But for me I just have sooooo much fun as more people come to the table and we all bring our different hero powers and different aspect cards to bear on the villain. Seeing how everything combined together was always so fascinating to me. It made me really wish I had a regular group to play this with. But again, I’ve seen enough people say it’s not for them that maybe it would end up being not worth it if I did it all the time lol. So I 100% see where you’re coming from!

@@GetUpandGame Me and my girlfriend play random champions as we call it. where we randomly pick a hero and aspect and a villain. Get some fun results and gets us outside our comfort zones.

They’ve ruled that “paying” for a card and “overpaying” for a card are different. And since her text says “for each resource used to PAY for Moon Girl draw a card”, anything past 3 does nothing. When she first came out many of us assumed you could just pump mentals into her and draw cards like crazy lol

Thank you so much for the kind words and suggestions! I have no doubt you’re right that I would be much better off making shorter videos lol. I have quite a few videos in the hour or longer range. Unfortunately I’ve found that it’s just easier for me to do everything in one shot instead of breaking up a topic into multiple segments. There’s a lot of post production that goes into every video, so if you do multiple videos you have to do the post production multiple times. So my (probably) lazy solution is just to always do everything about a topic in one video, put it out there, and hope people will just keep coming back to it til they’re done 😆 That’s a great idea about revisiting these and updating them! I’ve been meaning to do that for quite some time, and hopefully I can get to that sooner rather than later! Thanks again!

@@GetUpandGame Oh, that's not what I meant. I meant to go ahead and post the longer video, then afterwards breakup that video and post shorter ones as well (from the original recording). I've seen D20 do that a lot from his live recordings, which will be hours long, but then he'll take a segment (or segments) of it and also post those later. Maybe that's not as easy to do as I thought -- I don't know the process myself.

@@GetUpandGame I was thinking that it would mean you could post videos this way, too (by cutting a larger video into smaller ones after posting the original video), when life won't let you have the time to do a new recording. Plus, you clearly put a ton of work and time into a video such as this, and could therefore get the most out of your efforts. I would think it would also encourage you to do more of these since I would think the amount of work that goes into it would feel like it would have a much higher payoff since the result would be multiple videos. 🙂

@@GetUpandGame I feel your pain! It also made me a little sad last year to think how long it might be before he’s ever made. But lately, I’ve been enjoying the newest designs and have been so impressed with what we’ve seen of the X-Force heroes that my feelings have started to shift. Although I still really hope he’s printed as soon as possible, there is a part of me that’s ALMOST glad he’s been saved, so that he’ll be designed in this more “mature” stage of the game, rather than in one of the earlier waves where there seemed to be some balance issues (poor Hulk, but even as recent as Valkyrie). I heard in an interview (I think with Nelson) where Caleb mentioned having “line testers” now, who are dedicated to this specific game line and experienced with it. I wonder if that will help avoid some of those issues. Either way, I have to feel like they’re saving or concocting some special design concept for Daredevil to go with his unique powers. Or, maybe I’m just trying to make myself feel better about having to wait, lol.

You make some really excellent points about other things that are also so good about the game. The multiuse cards as resources was on my short list of things I love so much about it. Thanks so much for tuning in! I’ve always appreciated your thoughts and comments!

Great question! I really like it with the 4 hand side heroes because since they have one less card I find I more often end up with a hand that’s difficult to get the most out of. I can only play one card and then I have leftovers. So if I have Assess, instead of discarding what’s left or holding on to cards for the next turn, I can play that and get a better hand for the next turn. But it’s rarely a priority. If I need it to help pay for a card I’m happy to use it as a resource, but if it works out that I can do everything I want to do and still play it then it’s really nice I also use it in some decks where I’m trying to do a very specific thing, like if the deck is built around a combo and I don’t want to put anything in the deck besides exactly what I need. Then I’ll use those instead of just adding more aspect cards I don’t really care about, and then I can play the Assess’ to help get to my combo pieces faster. So not an every deck kind of card but one I really like in the right spots!

Yeah that’s fair. I know a lot of people aren’t super into leadership. I’ve heard Cyclops has made a believer out of some people but I already loved blue so I can’t speak to that lol I always think I want to play two handed but I rarely end up doing it. Solo is so much faster, but I definitely prefer the two player experience when I occasionally get to do it!

You’re totally right! Unfortunately I still haven’t har a chance to play Colossus very much so I just didn’t think of it lol. For so long when I think of the best cards in the game I immediately think of Pheromones so I just put it on the list without giving it a second thought 😅 But yeah, I always thought Pheromones was a silly cards and then they come along and print one that also does 5 damage 🤯

@@GetUpandGame And I still think the most interesting part of Steel Fist is that it is an attack and dealing the 5 damage is part of the cost. I used it while stunned to defeat Black Order Infantry and clear my stun. We were doing a fun game of Loki minus the IG but with the Mind Stone and Space Stone and Armies of Titan and Temporal with Save the Shawarma Shop starting in play. Basically the 1st Avengers movie, but I was using Colossus

@@teraxe that’s so crazy how that card is worded. I wonder where the idea to make dealing damage a cost came from? And being able to clear a stun with it as well. So weird lol, but happy to have it! I looooove how you can create scenarios like that with this game! That sounds so dang cool 😎

Unfortunately they’ve ruled that if they do appear as a boost effect, they are then discarded into your discard pile, because whenever a card is discarded from play it’s always put into its owner’s discard pile. So they basically doubled down on keeping them from being as powerful as possible lol. If they did hang around in the encounter deck that would certainly make them better!

Hello! No need to apologize, that’s a great question! I think it’s still worth it for sure. There’s tons of gameplay in just the Core set alone, with 5 heroes and 3 villains. And then assuming you got all the big box expansions, you’d have 17 heroes total and 33 villains. That’s a lot of variety. It’s true that the deck building would be a bit spotty. And if that’s something you’re interested in doing there might be a couple hero packs here and there I would probably recommend. Especially if you really want to buff certain heroes. But there are lots of people who play this game that don’t do any deck building, or at the least very minimal. Every hero comes with a playable deck, and even with just Core cards you can tweak them to make them better than they are. The difficulty of the game is meant to be such that if you play on Standard you should be able to win much of the time with the preconstructed decks alone. This is mostly true lol. There are a few scenarios (particularly in the Guardians box) that are really tough, even on Standard. So even without top tier deck building you can compete with most if not all of the villains. So long answer short I would say yes! But there’s no denying that with a game like this more is always better, and if you really really like it I hope you have strong willpower cause it’s gonna be tempting to get more lol

@Get Up and Game! oh I just meant things like how Captain Marvel and Iron Man want energy resource cards, Hulk and Cuncussive Blow want fist resources etc. I find those things fun to build around and would like to see more of it

Totally agree. He already hits so hard, he doesn’t need to activate twice! Plus the other attachments are decently rough as well. But I have used it in easier villains like Taskmaster and it was really cool!
