Makes sense as Rayne Sinclair aka Wolfsbane is up there with them as the most religious as despite her mutant abilities making her seemingly a "werewolf" she is a devout Christian of the Episcopalian denomination and is usually seen reading her bible and after becoming a teacher at the Xavier Institue she would alongside Nightcrawler would hold Sunday School lessons and is usually seen as reluctantly agreeing to work alongside heroes and heroines who have powers and abilities steeped in mysticism and the supernatural which is due to her faith and this reluctance to work with heroes, and heroines who have powers steeped in mysticism, and the supernatural as well as being reluctant to go with a mysticism/supernatural-themed solution has caused her to butt heads with fellow X-Men/New Mutants member Illyana Rasputin aka Magik numerous times.

Based on her backstory, Black Widow was likely raised an atheist in Soviet Russia. This is echoed in the comics, but interestingly, she is seen going to confession to a priest in Marvel Knights #1. In any case, Black widow isn’t perfect by any means, but it appears that there is something innate to her character that draws her close to Catholic symbolism. This also proves Voyage writer Matthew Heffron’s point on Why comic book artists rely on Catholic symbols to portray religion. She may not be a saint, but she does appear to be a sinner who seeks forgiveness for her past life, willing to sacrifice her own life to atone for them and save others.

FYI a lot of Christian denominations have confession its just popularly assume its a Catholic "thing" Russian Catholics are rare so its safe to assume she is Orthodox who enfasize a lot the Sacrament of Confession. Episcopalian are quite intelligent and studious people. In US, Episcopalians are the third most educated religious group after Jews and immigrant Hindus. I m from India, here Anglicans or Episcopalians as well call here quite educated and crave for top jobs and higher positions in society. Hearing that really cracks me up because it makes me think of The Hulk quoting one of my favorite Bible verses. Can you imagine Hulk speaking to the church congregation in that Iconic Hulk voice saying ”My peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give to you as The World gives. Man saying the Thing/Ben Grimm isn't Jewish was a massive oversight for this video, since it's such a vital part of his character. Also. Spiderman is Jewish too, but he's from an interfaith Jewish/Protestant household, not that hes particular devout or anything. The Thing is Jewish. Black Widow more likely was raised an Atheist in Soviet Russia. She has been seen going to confession, so it's likely that in her years with Daredevil some of the Catholic Faith has affected her. Hawkeye is usually classified as Protestant. Wanda was most likely Jewish, but has become more of an Occultist over the years. Not listed; Sabra is Jewish. Dust and Arabian Knight are Muslim. Ms. Marvel is a very lapsed Muslim as she doesn't seem to adhere to any of it's principles. White Tiger, El Aquila are Roman Catholic. Dani Moonstar is a combination of Native American and Norse, as a reserve Valkyrie. Hercules is Greco-Roman, and a Demi-God.

You know, if Scarlet Witch was anything, before becoming an Occultist, she and Pietro were more than likely of the Romani Christian sect. Gypsy has become something of an Ethnic slur. So proper terms would be Roma or Romani. That's been her Origin since the beginning. And hopefully, someone at Marvel will regain common sense and make Magneto their father again!

I had no idea that Charles Xavier was Jewish. This would also add another motivation for fighting for mutant rights as not only is he understandably doing the right thing by helping mutants gain equal rights but also because Jewish people like many other minorities have often been persecuted just like mutants were persecuted. I also thought that Ben Grimm was Jewish as Marvel Comics did mention his Jewish background and heritage.

Comics are made and set in a modern setting, Many aspect of a modern story is being able to understand the power of religion and faith in the modern world, though weaker politically still retain a ever wider influence in contrast to the secular nature of most states and organization. These characters can be interupted, retconned, and developed into another religion. I've seen similar videos with different statements. It should not be too far fetched to think this. Hundreds if not thousands of writers have come across these characters. Trying to empathize with them with the same religion.

Actually, I did some research some sites claim Vlad the Impairer was Othodox. He wasn’t Protectant since they weren’t around at the time but the timeline of Vlad the impaler was after the great schism so he was either Catholic or Othodox but it doesn’t give a clear answer we I looked it up. Even wikipedia says both Catholic and Othodox.

Venom is catholic, it's actually a very big part of his character. His family's Irish after all Peter's religion is a bit iffy. Aunt May seems to be protestant, but there are implications for Peter to be either Jewish or Protestant. I think he's Jewish because of his wedding to MJ in Into the Spiderverse, where he breaks a glass

Some of these are really bizarre given how the characters are presented most of the time. I feel like this list is largely based on stuff like "well, there's some comic panel of Banner praying in a church that looked like a catholic one, therefore him, and by extension the Hulk, are catholics" lol. I'm willing to bet even some of the ones that had their beliefs explicitly stated in the comics come from older versions of the characters, and since these religious beliefs haven't been on the minds of the writers or incorporated in the stories for so long, you might as well discard them and have them as "blank" in the current iterations. When it comes to guys like Daredevil, Nightcrawler, Iron Fist and others where their religion is very much present in their character, then there's no doubt, but for some it's probably a stretch to label them any way. That being said, it wouldn't surprise me at all and also make sense if most would indeed be Christian, given where they're from.
