Here's my FULL Marvel Hawkeye Episode 3 video and Easter Eggs. Let me know how many you spotted! Here's my new Spider-Man No Way Home video too! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hm2hlqOYBoo.html
I like the part where Clint said that Ronin was killed by Black-widow, and that he was there. It reminded me of Obi-Wan telling Luke that Anakin was killed by Darth Vader
It’s a lot easier when you don’t have to find someone that can deliver lines really well. ESPECIALLY kid “actors”; although to her credit, the young Echo actress was REALLY good at getting across her emotions with no speaking lines.
The trick arrow scene is exactly what I signed up for watching this series. Who the hell is gonna clean up that 100 ft long 7 ft wide arrow out the bridge? I get that aliens are real and other realities exist and people have excepted that but how does that not completely disrupt infrastructure!? I love the comic book nonsense of it all. Pure, enjoyable, nostalgic.
He would be probably be prosecuted for that lol even if it was self defense. I don’t think that should be legal but it was cool. He could’ve something small on the bridge already to block the way of the vehicle
I loved seeing Echoes backstory. I also 100% think her "uncle" is kingpin. The scene where clint used a pym particle arrow to make kates arrow huge was funny af to me
Ikr. I had to pause to see what the arrow said, so I knew that was gonna happen. It's like the "Pym" name on the arrow was the one that actually surprised me, not the huge arrow.
really liked the nod to the comics where Maya has her dad’s handprint on her face. the parallels here between not only the girls’ respective childhoods but also the “single” takes of the hallway and car chase scenes are amazingly dope. not to mention how much they poured into Maya’s character so far. for those that don’t know, Alaqua Cox is actually deaf and an amputee irl. So it’s really cool that they added to Maya’s character in that sense.
I was wondering if they went the CGI prosthetic route or not because sometimes studios hire non-amputees because they want the characters to do stunts that don't make sense with prosthetics
Yeah, there must be better feelings now between Hank Pym and Tony Stark's friends post-Endgame, since he is sharing tech. Scott has a security company in San Francisco. Would be cool to see Scott or the wombats make a guest appearance.
Has to be one of the best Marvel series on Disney+ the real damage these characters are feeling, the sad moments, and the small victories feel wholesome and somewhat relatable with all the little references to the MCU - Really happy with this
They keep getting better I don't compare but I definitely am glad Hawkeye is getting the story arc that we need and is keeping the non-superpowered Heroes getting the appreciation they deserve.
hawkeye seems to have used all it's most interesting moments in the first 2 episodes though, this last one was mediocre minus the trick arrow scene. hit-monkey now is all awesome by marvel
Tonight's episode just set the stage for Wilson Fisk's big return as Kingpin and Maya Lopez journey as Echo. Thing's are about to get even more crazier in the coming weeks of Hawkeye
I really do hope Wilson Fisk isn't just some one-time villain and will appear in future storylines to be that main antagonist, especially if its for the next Spider-Man film.
That’s what I’m thinking. Since they just announced three more Tom Holland Spider-Man movies are in the works it would be a missed opportunity to not include Fisk.
That had to be Vincent D’Nofrio’s laugh in Echo’s flashback scene. I could see Kingpin somehow tipping off the location of Tracksuit Mafia which lead to Echo’s father being killed by Ronin. That way it still gives Echo a reason to turn on Kingpin similar to her comic book origin, where it’s Kingpin who killed her father.
I like that theory. Kingpin could have discovered that the Tracksuits were doing something the Boss didn't approve of and were hiding it from him. By tipping of Ronin, he gets to rebuild the suits with his "Niece" and protege in charge. Also blaming it on someone else.
I think the big reveal about Kate's father will be that her mother was actually murdering him at the moment of the Chitauri attack. There is this very weird moment in the first epidode, when the Chitauri attack starts, where Kate calls for her parents for a very very long time, without getting any answer (and the penthouse is big, but not that big that in a moment like that, her parents would not hear her and run to her immediately) and it is supposed to be a red herring : that they were not answering because one parent was murdering the other.
Yeah I thought it was obvious setup to come back to and they left on Kate's voice calling out "dad dad" repeatedly. Even my mom was like did it seem like something was up with the mama during that scene? I'm like yup I'm sure she was killing dad even if it wasn't planned she used the chaos to kill him, because she came back actually pretty damn calm for all that's going on I mean it's ALIENS attacking not a earthquake. They then never mention anything either like debris hit him or whatever it's just intentionally left for us to think he was another casualty until they go back to it. SN there's actually a episode of the detective show "Monk" where someone uses the commotion and destruction of an earthquake to kill someone and make it like they just died accidentally really the 1st thing I thought of when watching that opening scene.
@Budgie Cat They weren't just arguing about moving, they were arguing about having to sell the penthouse. Moving would have been a result of selling their place.
The reason why the actress playing echo (Alaqua Cox) is shown with a missing leg is because she doesn't have one in real life, nothing comic or show related. What's even more interesting and cool is that this is her first acting gig, she was chosen purely based on the fact that she matched the character, she's just an ordinary girl.
Really liked the Clint and Kate moment when he told her not to be scared, was a nice reminder that she’s only young. Also loved the “good thing they call you HawEYE and not HawkEAR”
Just a minor detail, but I like how Clint and Kate had those 2-3 moments in their conversations where Clint repeats what Kate had just said. Kind of relates to the episode theme/title "Echoes" -> Clint "echoes" Kate's words
I wondered if it was a shoutout to “Ghost Dog: Way of the Samauri” where Forest Whittaker’s character can’t understand the language of his best friend and does something similar to the same comic effect.
I so wanna see Yelena and Kate team up in future, just like their predecessors were. I can totally see the chemistry between Hailie and Florence. I hope there's a reveal of Matt's law office in this series and some actual references to Peter Parker. The timing is so perfect when NWH is premiering in like 2 weeks. Coincidental? I don't think so when Lord Feige is involved. 🤣🤣🤣
I don't think she and her father are trying to hide the fact that she's deaf when she's a kid. Her teacher openly asks if she needs an interpreter. I think the reason it's broken up like that is Maya has not completely learned to read lips yet, so she misses part of what the teacher says.
The attention to detail of kingpin still in the black suit he would have worn at the time of the daredevil series!! When I saw him in the background I had the same reaction to Kangs introduction in the Loki series. That’s how hyped I am for more daredevil!!!!
I wonder if Bishop is going to be "adopted" into the Barton festivities? The conversation between Clint and his son seems to allude to it. I might be reading too much into it. The Pym arrow was a blast. Thanks for the breakdown.
Definitely felt that way seeing that scene with Clint on the phone. She's already starting to grow on him whether he wants to admit it or not haha. Already feeling dad - daughter vibes.
I love how Kate says he needs to wear his heart on his sleeve but doesn't...then the scene where he can't hear Nate in the phone call and he's so emotional about missing his family...so humanising of Hawkeye and the sacrifices Clint has made. Jeremy Renner is amazing at being the unsung hero character!
We are watching Hawkeye as a family- my eldest and I were in tears during the Clint/ Nate phone call scene. Renner showing some of his amazing emotional acting skills right there.
Maybe it's me being a dad now, but I wasn't expecting the scene where his son is on the phone to get to me so much. Great character stuff. Legit loving this series.
Yeah this part was my fav too.clint struggling to reassure his son that hes gonna be back home in time and little Nathaniel being disappointed. Also Kate finds herself full of guilt in this scene that she's the reason Clint is stuck there.great scene
I’m really glad focus is being put on Clint, he’s kinda on the back burner in the movies but he clearly has a lot of trauma. Super hyped for Fisk to show up
obviously the best moment was when the bro was opening up about arguing with his girlfriend and Kate went, "well at least you don't have to see imagine dragons" and he goes, "but i love imagine dragons!" and she just stares in disbelief. Arcane is SHOOK
This has been my fav ep so far, I can't wait to see how this series unravels and ties into the new state of the MCU. My favorite part of this ep is the actors dedication to learning ASL if they haven't already. Obviously legit deaf actors are going to communicate perfectly. I just love this series. Depending on how it ends it might take my number one spot just above Loki.
I dont feel like they were trying to hide that she was Deaf in that opening, just showing the challenges of a Deaf kid at a hearing school. The teacher seemed to be asking If she needed an interpreter, then looked at her work (which I assume was correct) and realised she was actually paying attention. Basically just seemed like she was forced to attend a hearing school because they couldn't afford to send her to a Deaf school.
Yeah I left a comment how stupid it would be if her dad didn’t let people know she was deaf. They would figure that out in like 30 minutes. Plus nobody would make him pay for a private deaf school if she were deaf.
@@jessejive117 I'm guessing the Deaf school available to them (maybe closest to where they live) was private. I'm not sure about the structure in the US, if Deaf schools are generally public funded or not. Where I live we only have one and it's gov funded, but interpreters and other special Ed accommodations in regular public schools are basically unicorns.
I would love if they have it so Kingpin was the one that gave Ronin information about other organizations to save his own ass. Would explain why Clint knows someone is higher up than Echo and tie back to her original origin story.
I don’t think that was Ronin Clint killing the Tracksuits. I think it’s Jack Duquesne dressed as Ronin. It would also explain why he wanted that sword so bad and almost pissed himself when he saw “Ronin” before he figured out it was Kate (because he totally did).
I dunno, he seemed to know exactly who Ronin killed in their organization; and he, as Clint, seemed to know who the tracksuits were when the series started
Casting Zahn McClarnon as Echo's father was my favorite part of the episode. He's a great actor. Loved him in Doctor Sleep as well as West World. He had a whole episode dedicated to his character Akecheta in West World. Very touching.
That's 100% Kingpin, I loved that little giggle and the hand, definitely him. I also love the Clint redemption arc, so that he realize he can be a role model
Echo possesses photographic reflexes, an ability also possessed by the mercenary known as the Taskmaster. As a result, Echo is capable of perfectly duplicating any physical movement or action she sees with perfection after watching it only once.
Taskmaster was so disappointing in the movie… I was so excited to see that character. :/ I wanted her to be a cool black guy too. I like black male villains. And g@y villains lol I knew taskmaster would be a chick but she just wasn’t in the film a lot and I was almost excited to see her. Thr movie was okay but I didn’t really care to see it again. Waaaaay better than boring eternals and I like sit more than Shang chi. Meandering was amazing but Shang chi and that chick were sorta annoying. I thought Aquafina would be way more annoying than she was. Shang chi’s character was soooo boring dude
It was great to see Zahn McClarnon here. Such a different role for him compared to the last series I saw him in "Reservation Dogs." Great run down of easter eggs. It was great to see Clint in full Hawkeye mode and the great teamwork already with Kate. thanks Bro!
Loved this episode, I 100% think that was Vincent as kingpin grabbing echos cheek. So excited for what is to come. What is the big deal with the watch? Do you think it holds any significance to the larger MCU story?
I think the dragon is a nod to KhLΘG from Kurt Busiek's Strange Tales series from 1994. It's a shapeshifting demon from Native American myth who takes the form of a dragon & jumps between worlds. Makes more sense for the father to be referencing something from his own culture instead of the Great Protector, who wasn't known even to Wenwu
When Hawkeye tells Echo that Black Widow killed Ronan it reminded me of Obi Wan telling Luke that Darth Vader killed his father. Which, technically was true, from a certain point of view.
One of my best parts of the episode for sure , is when Kate Bishop using those trick arrows and even when Clint Barton has one of the arrows from Hank Pym , loved how that Clint Barton must’ve called in a favor
Watching this episode, I get the sense that Clint isn't the one who killed Echo's father. Between Clint's reactions when Ronin is mentioned along with Jack's obsession with possessing & using the sword, my gut feel is that Clint wasn't the first Ronin but it was Jack instead & Jack was the one who killed Echo's father. Maybe Jack was dusted during the blip & that's when Clint took over the mantle of his mentor.
My favorite scene was the Giant arrow. It's probably lots of people's favorite but it's mine because it shows that this guy with no powers has the skills and tricks to stand side by side with our heavy hitters.
I absolutely loved this episode. I watched the part about her uncle back like 20 times and I swear that little chuckle sounds like Vincent and I couldn't be more excited.
here's a lot of long-con villains/threats in MCU right now: Kang, Celestials, Power Broker, possibly Fisk. The influx of good villains that are not gonna be throwaways has me excited for sure!
The reason why Echo is an amputee is because the actress is also an amputee. If she was chosen for the role because of that, I can't say, but I'm leaning on "no";. I think they liked her the most among the candidates and adapted the character to fit the actress. Anybody knows more about that?
Alaqua Cox must have convinced the casting department. After all, this is her debut performance. Like Echo, she is deaf and is Native American (part Menominee, part Mohican in Alaqua's case). The prosthetic leg probably was simply added into the performance after the casting.
@@Nergalsama01 That's what I thought, too. I wonder how many other actresses tried to get the role. No matter who else auditioned, I think they made the right choice. Her performance in this episode was inspired for a debut, to say the least.
Love the videos Charlie. Not trying to be that guy but I did want to throw out there that in the Fraction Hawkeye book, it's not Black Widow's Challenger it's Penny Wright's car. They call her Cherry at the beginning of the book.
I enjoyed seeing Echo's childhood and making this villain more dynamic, easier to be empathetic towards. I didn't notice the juxtaposition w/ Kate's childhood until you pointed it out
My favorite part of Hawkeye The 3rd episode is where He finally tells Kate that she is actually one of the best archers Or where pizza dog gets his name
Aside from the Echo stuff, "Uncle" foreshadowing stuffs, and the AMAZING ONE TAKE SHOT in the Car and the Trick Arrows, But I really like the moment were Kate is helping interpreting the message of Nathaniel (Clint Barton's Son) about how he misses his dad, and missing out their family Christmas, I felt really Heartfelt and you can see in his face that even though he's in this middle of all the Ronin and Watch from the Avengers compound stuff, he wanted to be with his family, that's the reason why Clint Barton is one of my favorite characters in thE MCU, and kudos to Jeremy Renner for giving us the vulnerability of the character that he's been playing for 11/12 years now 🥳🥳🥳🥳🎉🎉🎉 T/N: I really wanted Clint, to be with his family for Christmas and finally retired
Absolutely enjoyed episode 3 of Hawkeye , truly that was just so so enjoyable , and man that laugh , legit that’s gotta be Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin , uncle is 100% kingpin, this ain’t no Mephisto at all
That is without a doubt Vincent D'Onofrio. I’m just wondering if this interpretation of Fisk will be just like how he was portrayed on Daredevil. Or perhaps this will be a completely different variant with his own particular personality and characteristics.
I hope it’s continuity. Just from what I’ve seen from What If, the timelines can be exactly the same up until a certain point so curious how Fiege/the writers set this up.
“Nate” (as in “Natasha”) “Pietro” Barton. Remember, his wife was pregnant with him in Age of Ultron, and Natasha already knew his family…so he was actually named for them both.
Great vid Charlie. I would add two moments left out. One, is Echo is crazy smart for her age, regardless of her being deaf, if you pause the flashback. That's why her teacher gave a smirk. Two, is that Hawkeye gave the Obi-Wan answer to Echo...her father's killer is dead...from a certain perspective. Not sure what else Clint could do, to not be full on lying, but it is an Easter Egg.
@@charlenek11 Thanks for correction. I didn't get phrasing correct...though perspective may have worked better. The truth I think was they hadn't fleshed out that Vader would be the father of Luke, so it was more a retrofit.
My favorite part was the Pym arrow!! I literally jumped out of my seat with excitement when I seen that arrow because I, correctly assumed what was going to happen next!! And I cheered out loud when it ACTUALLY happened!! I love this new Hawkeye series. I hope there will be a 2nd season exploring more of Kate being the new Hawkeye!!!
Yo man you forgot to mention the USB arrow easter egg that Kate used to threaten the Tracksuits and how she mentioned it's only missing the dongle to make it useful, referencing to the "What If" finale
One detail is the black suit as in the series Fisk used black suits until he embraces his Kingpin monicker in season 3 and begins to use the white suit instead. It aligns perfectly with the soft reboot long rumored about which would preserve the characters relevant back histories. Meaning that the series has been to a large extent made official canon including his infamous good Samaritan monolog on season 1 where he first embraces who he truly is. If this pans out we may even see Wesley in another Flashback in the Echo series as Fisk Maya's father and Wesley are beginning to set up shop in Hell's Kitchen 2 years after the battle of New York. If the Echo rumors are true that it will be where most of the Daredevil series cast returns we might also see a flashback of Matt and Foggy in upstate New York in college as per the series showed and how they witnessed the battle of New York from affar.
It looked like they didn't actually show Ronin killing Echo's dad. It just "looked" like he did but I thought that was a set-up to have her later turn against Kingpin when she finds out it wasn't Ronin. Maybe I'm wrong.
Kingpin used Bullseye to frame DD…I was wondering if that happened to Echo’s dad. Probs not Bullseye himself, but someone else to blame everything on Ronin…like, say, Jack?
i don't think they're trying to hide that she's deaf, I think her interpretor was late. The scene was trying to communicate how smart and advanced she was compared to her hearing classmates which is even more impressive as she did it through her ability to lip read and her understanding of language.
Now it makes a lot more sense for Echo to be getting her own tv series, becoz bringing d'Onfrio's kingpin into the fold is gonna need a lotta exploring and backstory💯💯
way too many awesome moments to name... the touching interactions between echo and her father, and kate helping clint talk to his son... the car chase, which was unbelievable.... the giant PYM AAROW!!!! all in all, just echo in general. i find her fascinating... and everyone loves a sympathetic villain... i think the most WTF moment was the slow rollout of wilson fisk.. the kingpin!!! can't wait to see how they fully reveal them. i'd trust it comes somewhere towards the end of the series. also can't wait for yolana to make her appearance next wednesday. that should be fun. this is fast becoming my favorite of the MCU Dis+ shows.... the worst being Falcon and the Winter Soldier (even though it was still great in it's own right), then followed by Wandavision, then Loki... but Hawkeye is turning out to be the absolute best of the four.
DUDE I LOVE WATCHING YOUR BREAKDOWNS. so cool~ i’m really happy with the way they have done Hawkeye so far. can’t wait till everything starts getting the ball rolling on disney+ THANK YOU as always and Happy Holidays 🎄
I especially liked ... all of it! Making Ronin responsible for Echo's path is deep, (and is a perfect counter to how Hawkeye is responsible for Kate.) This is so far my favourite Disney plus show, this episode was perfectly balanced, as all things should be...
Disney has mastered the art of making you relate to the "villain", so as you can not fully oppose their logic. Like, I feel her on why she feels the way she does and a huge part of it was created by Hawkeye's demons and ghosts of the past.
I laughed so hard when he put his hearing aid in at the restaurant! My grandfather used to turn off his hearing aid all the time when my grandmother fussed at him! 🤣🤣
When Clint says the cookie thing, it is because he doesn't actually know ASL. Clint knows 'baby sign' which is used by parents to help kids communicate with words like 'cookie', 'more' and 'please'. He wasn't playing dumb, he truly didn't know.
It's too bad Jeremy Renner's signing does in fact seem to be at cookie please thank you. (And he signed "more" backwards in episode 1-2). In the comics, Clint has been deaf on and off in childhood and already knows ASL. A smart spy who is fluent in ASL would say "cookie please thank you" to the deaf bad guy, to get the upper hand. (Har har)
Hey Charlie, imagine it’s not Ronin who killed Maya’s dad? It wouldn’t be to difficult for “the uncle” to have someone make a suit that was similar looking to Ronin’s. Maya didn’t get a good look at the guy, it was nighttime.
@@12chapin actually wasn't it said a while back that the storyline will be different for daredevil and all Netflix characters if they come into the mcu? Meaning they could still do bullseye
I think Kazi grew up with Echo, as there was a "Little Kazi" in the cast listing in the end titles. I think all of her childhood flashbacks were from 2007, which was before the battle of NY in 2012. So her foot injury could not be from that.
We've seen Echo in only episode yet but I already love her! I think she has great potential to become a compelling anti-hero, and hope they don't screw up her character. Also the casting is fantastic! The little girl looked very similar to adult Maya (Alaqua Cox).
One of my favorite episodes of the MCU so far! Incredible episode. So many heart felt and funny moments but also OMG THAT CHASE SCENE. There was a lot of artistic choices here I loved it.
The Imagine Dragons reference also sort of connects to Hailee's other show Arcane, where Imagine Dragons performs the intro music and also cameos when Vi (voiced by Hailee) returns to her hometown.
Maya's paper in the beginning says she wants to learn Capoeira. And she does throw a very capoeira-ish kick sequence with the double leg flip at the end when she fights Hawkeye.
I have enjoyed this entire series, I absolutely love the Christmas theme, and the student teacher relationship that is going on is enjoyable to watch. Oh, & that is 1000% Kingpin's laugh.
