Man, I literally feel like that everytime i get a new fig, i always think of so many things i can do with the fig, and then when i actually get it i just don't know what to do lol
When I got the deluxe maestro figure whole car ride home I'm thinking of some bad ass display with bodies of heros around him.....ends the year with him in the corner of a shelf in a running like pose LOL
@@blackmegaman that's why I watch Jay Hernandez and D Amazing. I get huge inspiration from their posing & pictures. I also realized that toy photography is how us adult collectors "play" with our toys.
My one hope now is to see a new Scarlet Spider Ben Riley with this body. We're getting that new Ben Riley suit one, so hopefully it's not an impossibility.
I Love when my favourite reviewers know their ways around the comics too! Charles Vess' covers are an amazing reference and now I must get this figure to fight my Hobgoblin too, damnnn!
Dude I can watch reviews of most of the releases in this Retro Spider-Man line over and over. The black suit Spidey doesn’t have enough reviews on RU-vid yet. Nothing against J Hernandez. He did a fantastic job and I have watched his review a dozen times. I’m salivating waiting to get one.
Retro Red & Blue Spidey has been pretty much my constant desk figure since it came out. I absolutely adore that figure. I cannot wait to get this figure in hand! This wave has 2 of the best Spidey costumes in it!
@Spidey the red and blue? That's the classic look. He came out last year. If it's this wave you're asking about, they've been hitting Target's this week. Though online still says an April release

At first, I thought the head looked weird, but now I am all for it. Looks dope. I have the Mezco Black suit Spidey and I prefer this head than the Mezco one. Also, those drop down legs need to be a standard on athletic characters.

I preordered this guy and hammerhead as soon as they went up along with that new captain America so I’m hoping they arrive soon now that people are getting their retro spidey figures. Weird because a store in my town in the mall had this whole wave (I saw a post online) so I thought I would’ve had mine by now but hopefully soon cause this guy is sick!

Give me pinless joints, a few more accessories and a nice matte finish and this is import level.. wish Hasbro would push a little harder into the collector figure market I think there is room for 35$ marvel legend that can do that kind of stuff. I am happy to see so many new releases ditching BAF pieces though, i've known that was holding them back for the longest. I firmly believe Hasbro could eat Mafex lunch if they just did a little more. While I love the flat black I do find myself wondering how this would look with a very subtle blue mixed in to hit those highlights and give it a little more oomph.
I feel that the new miles figure is a concept they should keep for their more popular characters i just cant wait for the new NWH wave 2 hopefully we get a good articulated doc ock arms

The retro Spiderman didn't really do it for me. The cyborg Spiderman captured more what I've been wanting, but this is just the perfect marriage of buck and costume. The bearded Peter goes perfect for me and I really the big eyes mask. Larsen or Bagley is really my 90s spider-man art.
I was initially going to pass on this. The original retro Spider-Man was a bit underwhelming for me; inconsistent paint for the webbing and eyes, awkwardly coloured arm pegs, strange decisions like the neck articulation and on mine the drop-down hips make the figure lean to one side rather than stand straight because one doesn't lock in. However upon getting the Hammerhead and Shocker from this wave, yeah I pre-ordered this figure too. I'm hoping this will redeem the retro body in my eyes, there's less painted details to get messed up, he's got more hand options, and as long as I don't run into that same hip issue I should be good. Either way great review and dang, that's a nice cloth hood/cape for Hobgoblin.

An ab crunch done well looks almost completely hidden because it can follow the lines of an actual abdominal area....a diaphragm joint is a longer & much more noticeable line cutting straight across the middle of a figure/costume/symbol, breaking it up and producing ugly, unnatural over-hang :-(
This along with the regular retro suit are my two favorite marvel legends ever made. These Spider-Man figures, next to the amazing comic mafex figure, are the best anyone has ever made. Just my opinion.

Sorry, a little question out of the topic. I heard something about nail polish to tight some joins. I fear I could ruin my figure by doing so, will be nice if you could, I dont know, make a tutorial on that for loose joins issues
I’ve used the original retro spiderman figure so much that the webing paint is wearing of in some places really want the symboit figure too hope we see even more spiderman suits on this body mybe spider-punk? Mybe spiderman 2099? Endless possibilities there
Given that it's the Symbiote Black Suit and there were attendent changes in personality like heightened brutality and ruthlessness, might I humbly suggest a bit of departure from the more traditional Spidey poses and instead depict this one in power stances and moves? Nothing but love for what you do. Peace.
Great video! I like that you lose the figure in real time while you’re talking it really helps see how the figure moves. I do have a question…other than you like the smell why did you put it in fabuloso?
I think if you put the headsculpt symbiote Spidey to the retro Spidey, and painted in red and black web, it will be better. In Retro Spidey, his eyes looks kinda off. That's my opinion at least.
This is the symbiote costume... yet there's no black dot on the back of his hands for the symbiote webbing? Or can I just not see it with the camera angles?
